Paulfest has not become Garyfest grow up already, Chuck Baldwin may speak, will it then become Baldwin fest?Submitted by Neverquit on Sat, 06/23/2012 - 12:48
It is really sad that some have decided to play conquer and divide. If anyone remebers Gary Johnson was invited to speak at the rally for the republic, he has constantly endorsed Ron Paul, he has even stated that if Ron Paul won the nomination he would support him. I disagree with a lot of what Johnson's positions are and I am supporting Ron Paul but that does not mean he shouldn't be allowed to speak at a paul festival.
Chuck Baldwin was invited to speak at revolution march even though Chuck was also running for President at the same time, to which Ron Paul endorsed Chuck Baldwin when he didn't win the nomination, I don't see a difference here in any way.
Are we trying to grow the movement or not? Should we only have the collective at this event or, should we be talking with a lot more people that we disagree with and educate them? I personally have no desire to just preach to the choir, I am looking for the uneducated to make them wake up to the message of liberty.
The mindset that this has become Garyfest is just insane, because one guy may get 30 minutes of a 3 day event to speak and it is now his event is one og the dumbest things I have ever heard. It will hurt the delegates, WHAT? Does anyone that is a delegate for Ron Paul not going to vote for him because Gary Johnson has a 30 minute speaking spot? How is this not nonsense to everyone? What if Ralph Nader was asked to speak? Would it become Naderfest? Stop being so afraid of interacting with people that disagree with you, I once was not on the Paul bandwagon as many of you, isn't it time we try to wake people up instead of isolating them and closing the door?
It is really sad that some are so short sighted about growing the liberty movement.
You don't support paulfest that's fine, but to bash the same people that brought all of you the revolution march in 2008 which helped spark this movement is really unwarranted.
