BYLAWS: http://www.utgop.org/pdf/Utah%20Republican%20Party%20Bylaws%...

The Republican Presidential Primary shall be open to registered Republicans, and unaffiliated voters requesting a Republican ballot who affiliate at the polls as a Republican. [Utah Republican Party Bylaws 7.0.C]

(Just stating what the bylaws say, I'm not debating on the legality of the binding of delegates):

All 40 of Utah's delegates to the Republican National Convention are bound to the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes statewide in today's Presidential Primary. [Utah Republican Party Bylaws 7.0.B]

The 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Utah's Republican Party, will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position.

On the first ballot, the national delegation are bound to vote for the candidate who has received the most votes in the Republican Presidential Primary. The delegation is not bound on subsequent ballots. [Utah Republican Party Bylaws 7.0.B]

Huge blow-out by Romney. I guess we all saw that coming...but I still feel really bad about it. Now the primary season is officially over, so we all have to look ahead to Tampa.

What can we say

We live in Utah, Mittens was going to win here no matter what. I am keeping my Ron Paul signs up and when the time comes I will tell people "I Told you so" even though that is not the best thing to say.

At 97.1% reporting, here's

At 97.1% reporting, here's what we have for the Utah Primary, save the other liberty candidates:

2008: Romney - 264,956 popular vote 89.49% percent of total vote
Paul - 8,846 2.99%

2012: Romney - 194,503 93.0%
Paul - 9,771 4.7%

Difference: Romney -70,453 +3.51%
Paul +925 +1.71%

Conclusion: Even after so many Paul supporters have been disheartened for various reasons, more still showed up this go around than last. Romney on the other hand got over 70,000 less votes than in '08

4% for Ron Paul so far? Really?

Not that many of us care but

with 3.3% reporting Romney has 93% of the vote. That number is the highest yet. This blows but couldn't say I didn't see it coming.

Who the hell is F. Karger?

Who the hell is F. Karger?

He's the first openly gay

He's the first openly gay presidential candidate from a major political party in American history

Too bad he's not a porn star too...he'd probably win then.

Not trying to get ahead of my

Not trying to get ahead of my self, but being on the front page does have it's advantage of reaching a lot more Paul people.

I believe the next date to keep in mind is JULY 14th! That's NEBRASKA'S state convention. I don't know of anything before that, but if there is something I'll make a thread about it.

Nebraska is the last state convention. However, there are other elections BEFORE the RNC! July 31st, for example, I know of 3 liberty candidates that will be up for election in GEORGIA.

Always remember, Primaries for Ron Paul are not the only times we need to get out and vote! I'll try to make a thread for each coming election with a list of the liberty candidates so you know who to vote for.

Whenever Mr. Nystrom gets back I hope to speak with him about my ideas of where the DailyPaul should go after the RNC.

July 14th

There was another revolution that changed history that got rolling on July 14th. You ready for this?

Thank you for your dedication, lady patriot!

Keeping us informed about the elections involving the non-Presidential Liberty candidates would be a valuable service. Thanks again!

A Constitutional, Christian conservative who voted for Ron and stands with Rand

Make sure to vote for Dan Liljenquist because...

It has just been discovered that Senator Liljenquist has done Ron Paul's Liberty Movement a great service by EXPOSING Mark Levin and Sean Hannity! http://subsidiaritytimes.blogspot.com/2012/06/dan-liljenquis...

I'm Free like a Willy! Happy Day! Oops thats a bit of a cliche!

Hey Utah Do America a Big Favor...

What time do the polls close really - I saw 3 different times.

Ron Paul ... forever.

They just closed

Results on the way.

CNN called it immediately

I cast my vote for Ron Paul and Dan Lilljenquist However there is a good chance its not even counted, It was on the Diebold machines and I did not get a receipt or anything. It did not feel good to vote like I thought it would because of those electronic machines. When can we just go back to honest voting on paper ballots? Also it was not even in a private booth it was right out where anyone could see who I was voting for. When I asked about how I can track my vote to make sure it was counted I was told there is no way to its a "secret ballot" which I don't understand my vote is not supposed to be secret from me....... Sorry to sound negative I am also sick so that is probably bringing me down some..

sick thoughts can be useful...

And watch out - it may be a virus (negative thoughts are a symptom I think).

Get well! Rest and maybe stay home if you can. Thank you for voting while sick. That was brave.

Ron Paul ... forever.

I can't believe that DPers can talk today about ANYTHING ELSE BUT UTAH and other states run offs. Yet look at the threads! People, raw milk issue can wait till tomorrow - unless you're pushing the issue on a local UTAH newspaper to let voters know about Ron Paul 2102.

DPers, I have not yet written a real angry post about that - but I will wait until tomorrow.
