BYLAWS: http://www.utgop.org/pdf/Utah%20Republican%20Party%20Bylaws%...

The Republican Presidential Primary shall be open to registered Republicans, and unaffiliated voters requesting a Republican ballot who affiliate at the polls as a Republican. [Utah Republican Party Bylaws 7.0.C]

(Just stating what the bylaws say, I'm not debating on the legality of the binding of delegates):

All 40 of Utah's delegates to the Republican National Convention are bound to the presidential contender receiving the greatest number of votes statewide in today's Presidential Primary. [Utah Republican Party Bylaws 7.0.B]

The 3 party leaders, the National Committeeman, the National Committeewoman, and the chairman of the Utah's Republican Party, will attend the convention as pledged delegates by virtue of their position.

On the first ballot, the national delegation are bound to vote for the candidate who has received the most votes in the Republican Presidential Primary. The delegation is not bound on subsequent ballots. [Utah Republican Party Bylaws 7.0.B]

I am SO excited to vote today

I didn't discover liberty until late 2008 early 2009 so I wasn't awake in time to vote for Dr. Paul last go around. But since that time I have read, listened, watched, and converted. I went to CPAC in 2010 and LPAC in 2011 to hear the good doctor. I started a liberty book club in my neighborhood and proceeded to preach liberty to all that would listen. I donated a small fortune to the cause: time, money, sweat, and even blood (putting red cups in overpass fences in 20 degree weather). I've caucused, made phone calls, and became "that guy" to all my Facebook friends.

Today on my way to work I planted a few signs, am sporting my Ron Paul shirt, and have passed out a dozen stickers to all the guys in my department who of course are now Libertarians (some took longer than others, but it's a smart group of guys). On my way home I'll head to the polling place and stand outside with some signs and stickers for an hour or so before I go in and savor the moment of putting a mark next to Dr. Ron Paul's name. I'll think of the dozens of others here in Utah that will do the same whom I was fortunate enough to teach the principles of liberty.

This is a good day!

Same story here

I saw a bunch of signs on freeway overpasses. Could they be yours? Thanks for all you have done! Like you, I'm super excited to vote for the good doctor for the first time in my life!

That was another

lover of liberty. I saw on FB his pics of the signs he was planning for the overpasses. I'm down in Utah County.

Noble Free

thank you for sharing this uplifting story. Just about made my day. And I share some timing in the awakening too.

Ron Paul ... forever.

any other liberty candidates

any other liberty candidates that you voted for in addition to Ron Paul?

Thanks for sharing all of your inspiring

good work.

District 4 Romney 140 liberty 100 protest file on stickers.

Romney campaign provided candidate stickers that were attached for his slate.. Illegal under Massachusetts election law to even have stickers within 150 feet of polling place... Never mind counted as votes. Rombama bots are going to steal the election... There is no way there is one ounce of difference Between Romney and Obama.. Both Banker tools.
Let the Romney folks and Rowe republicans play this way. Obama will win in a landslide...

The more ammunition, the better.

Are you referring to what is happening today...

... or to what happened at the April 21 Utah State Convention? Thanks.

Bump fact:

Utah became the 45th state when it was admitted to the Union on January 4, 1896. (This, by the way, is my birthday; I was -70 years old on that day.)

Polls are now open in Utah!

Good morning, Utah patriots! Please remember to go to the polls today, and bring your Republican or unaffiliated friends and family with you. You may find the following comparison sheets to be useful as persuasion:

Thank you, Utah patriots! Please do us proud today!

I'm voting in 1 hour

And I'll be voting for John Dougall for Auditor -- he's pretty much Utah's own Ron Paul the way he's fought to reduce taxes and the size of government in his 10 or so years in the legislature.

Going to vote for Liljenquist for US Senate, and Reyes (icky, but better than Swallow) for AG.

Funny how this isn't on the front page this week, but was last weeek!

DPers! Utah primaries tomorrow!

We must get Romney below 90% - where does he get this 95%?

40% of Utans are not Mormons! Do they love the US wars?! Or what?

Why is this post not on top everywhere? This is not only about some beauty contest. It is about convincing voters for November.

Ron Paul ... forever.

Only 60% Utans are Mormons...

and the demographics is:

"Data from 2010 Census

At the 2010 Census, 80.4% of the population was non-Hispanic White, down from 91.2% in 1990,[32] 0.9% non-Hispanic Black or African American, 1% non-Hispanic American Indian and Alaska Native, 2% non-Hispanic Asian, 0.9% non-Hispanic Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander, 0.1% from some other race (non-Hispanic) and 1.8% of two or more races (non-Hispanic).
13.0% of Utah's population was of Hispanic, Latino, or Spanish origin (they may be of any race)."

So how to shake this 40% of non-Mormons so they vote Ron Paul tomorrow? Call them? Any ideas? Write commentary in the local online newspapers. Most of the UTAH are condensed cities. Call non-Mormon Churches? I think those 13% Latinos are not Mormons.

HELLO! Anybody here in Utah? Any ideas?

Ron Paul ... forever.

That's a good goal - but lets not give up on our LDS friends :)

Who leaves the individual more free to utilize their God-given free agency, Mitt or Dr. Paul?

Who agrees more strongly that the federal government shouldn't impose its ideas on localities, Mitt or Dr. Paul?

Who would do more for missionaries by making places safer for them, eliminating blowback that threatens them, Mitt or Dr. Paul?

Ron Paul: A better choice for Mormons!

No I did not mean that

FB has a page of LDS Church for Ron Paul.

Ron Paul ... forever.

Good to know. I knew he did LDS for Paul in Nevada.

So I'm glad there is still an outreach effort.

I'm just on guard for the resignation because to me it's like how some Republicans give up on blacks. Democrats put teachers' job security over the futures of inner city youth getting a baaaad education, and we're supposed to give up that the many black families having to put up with this inadequacy might not want to hear an alternative? Seems we should resonate there, and it sure seems Dr. Ron Paul's individual responsibility message and how it permeates his policy proposals should appeal to LDS adherents.

I agree we should not give up on any demographics...

..and I am keen on the open access.

Though I tried promoting RP among Native Americans on certain tag on twitter (via Russell Means message about Paul)- and I got very hostile response - in short I got bullied. I understand that tag now and do not go there. I know there are Indians on DP and FB. That link to Means is here:

http://www.dailypaul.com/229518/russell-means-april-27-2012-...

You could twit it too if you have an account please.

I have devised a DP thread in Spanish for Hispanics:

http://www.dailypaul.com/230694/por-que-ron-paul-2012-votos-...

You could bump it for me please. I change the headline for every new occasion like Utah today and twit it profusely. I know that Ron Paul is the best candidate for Latin America and the Hispanics here who are very hard workers and do not need govt handouts. They will be a linguistic majority very soon anyway.

I also think that there is quite a bunch of baby boomers on DP and hopefully women as well. I am in this category.

Somewhere in a comment above there is a great comparison sheet for the LDS audience.

Ron Paul ... forever.

is it too early to request a

is it too early to request a bump to the top of the 1st page?

sovjanice, I am glad we have the discussion...

...of the possible local liberty candidates. We still have all of today to speed it up. So your thread must be on the first burner all today and tomorrow. It is tremendously important that we chosse the right people in Utah.

You are right - it is not only about Ron Paul. This one is the cream on the cake. :)

Do I understand well that the so called independents can just walk in to a voting place and ask the Republican ballot?

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

sovjanice,

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Mas en espanol aqui:

Ron Paul ... forever.

I don't know how it works

I don't know how it works with independents if they are considered "unaffiliated" or their own separate party. If worse comes to worse, just go in and ask for a republican ballot and they'll either give you one or they won't
