Drone Industry Becomes a Booming Business

RT.com, via Liberty Crier: Drones are set to take over US skies soon, and there is growing concern the public will lose their privacy to these spy planes.

The winners are the drone makers, and much of the reason for that is the aggressive and powerful lobbying by the defense and aerospace industry.

The drones of today have revolutionized modern warfare and are known for their seek and destroy missions over Afghanistan and Pakistan. The drones of tomorrow, however, will be humming over American homes.

Not all drones are evil...

The Tacocopter is your friend!

Can't we start a drone, company...

...one that designs, builds and takes out other drones?

How about technology to inhibit and or completely block communication of these drones to their base?

Surface to air technology (maybe lasers) that make it impossible for them to fly stable?

Suicide drones that crash into other drones?

Just thinking out loud...

BRB, theirs someone at the door.

Drone Zapper

Haha - At first that's what I thought so I bought DroneZapper.com - and after I thought about it, I opted for a news site that zaps stories about them instead of actually zapping them. It's a little safer way to go and it still helps counter the negative side of drones...without the DHS at my door ;) hah

As much as I f!@#ing hate drones

I am almost to the point where I want to profit from this. Get some raytheon stock as it goes up over the next 4 years and cash out. And if sh!t really does hit the fan, then I would imagine those military companies would stabilize or increase. This holds true for other sectors within a vice fund (tobacco, alcohol, gambling).

We have some pretty KILLER knowledge about what is really happening in the world. For example, has anyone heard about the part of the NDAA that went into effect today June 25th?! I'd tell you that one of the largest wealth transfers in history is about to happen... but a majority of us already see the writing on the wall.

Can you elaborate?

Can you elaborate? Or are you trying to keep that info secret?

Facepalm of the day

Can't believe they titled the report "Game of Drones"

Too much power, too much of OPM

(Other People's Money), too much greed, too little morality.

Yeah

I refuse to give RT a website hit, but I will say that almost everything about our modern wars overseas and of course the absurdity of drones, comes back to defense contractors. Some say its supposedly about oil, I resoundingly say they aren't even close. Its always about a several-billion dollar monopolized defense contract.

Skynet

I can't believe I am seeing it with my own eyes coming to fruition.

Man, I wish so badly that Tesla was here.

Skynet Indeed

Now we just need a detection method, and a method to take the drones out, inexpensive enough for the home user.

Hey look I wouldn't allow either my neighbor or a cop to peer over my fence without my permission - why should I allow the gunvernment to do so?

And don't hand me any of that crap about the drones being for my safety.

What would he do? It irks me

What would he do? It irks me when people give Tesla so much credit. An excellent engineer-yes, technological prophet-no. In fact R.A. Fessenden had already sent a WIRELESS transmission across the Atlantic, before Tesla. In addition, the quality of the transmission was so clear a fan in the room could be heard circulating air.

shoot em down

if there on your property of harassing you.

These "wars" are NOT about terrorists. They are about "MONEY".

There is NO DOUBT about that...and many Americans know that, too, now, thanks to this movement.

The lady in pink!

Sign her up to run for some local office. She spoke eloquently and in bite-sized bullets so that truth is carried easily into the hearts and minds of people.

Her interview is just one example of how RT is far superior to the Lamestream media we have who go out of their way to find the most ignorant and most socialism-leaning people they can for interviews.

The lady in pink was a refreshing voice, one rarely heard.

And oh yeah, what does the military-industrial complex do? Well, "they buy up Congress". Love it!

And when she said that, I bet most of us here on the DP immediately thought of the majesty and purity of Ron Paul, in contrast to the scum she was referencing.

May God bless Ron Paul and this Liberty movement!

Jimmy Carter savages US foreign policy over drone strikes

Former president calls on Washington to regain moral leadership in wake of drone strikes and targeted assassinations.

At a time when popular revolutions are sweeping the globe, the US should be strengthening, not weakening "basic rules of law and principles of justice", Carter says in the paper on Monday. His criticisms, just months before Obama hopes to regain the White House in November's presidential election, lambast the use of drones and detention.

Attacks on human rights after the terrorist atrocities of 9/11, have been "sanctioned and escalated by bipartisan executive and legislative actions, without dissent from the general public", says the Nobel peace prizewinner. "As a result, our country can no longer speak with moral authority on these critical issues."

Carter adds: "While the country has made mistakes in the past, the widespread abuse of human rights over the last decade has been a dramatic change from the past."

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948 with US leadership, "has been invoked by human rights activists and the international community to replace most of the world's dictatorships with democracies and to promote the rule of law in domestic and global affairs. It is disturbing that, instead of strengthening these principles, our government's counter-terrorism policies are now clearly violating at least 10 of the declaration's 30 articles, including the prohibition against 'cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment'."

Recent US legislation has made legal the president's right to detain a person indefinitely on suspicion of affiliation with terrorist organisations or "associated forces", Carter says. "This law violates the right to freedom of expression and to be presumed innocent until proved guilty, two other rights enshrined in the declaration."

Screw Jimmy Carter.

The guy sold out years ago. Why quote this traitor, no matter what supposed "good" he is saying.

Jimmy Carter Also Appointed Paul Volcker

The one head of the Central Bank who actually raised interest rates high enough to break price inflation. I'm hardly a presidential historian bu I do find it interesting to look back in time and see if the beliefs that are commonly held about presidents hold up. Apparently Nixon was seen as a guy who was super-paranoid. In retrospect, he apparently had the CIA watching his every move and so he was probably right to be paranoid. And apparently Nixon was trying to break away from the Prescott Bush/big business control of his presidency. Then Watergate happened (not coincidentally).

The above is not to say that either Carter or Nixon were good guys (at this point I don't feel like I'm knowledgeable enough to know). Just that time can re-write history.
