Come on!
Many European countries are worse off than we are junk-wise. It would solve a lot of our food problems if we got rid of the FDA and allowed true competition that way people could have real choice in the foods they consume. But, if a company is not committing fraud, there's no reason for the government to intervene. Not labeling every single pesticide that a company puts on its food is not fraud.
This thread isn't about...
...pesticides.
"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."
Not true
Most other countries eat the same garbage or much worse and have just as bad or worse environment to live in.
Its a war on people in general.
The elite eat well, and live in clean areas though.
I liked ron paul because of libertarianism.
I don't know why there are so many liberals in this forum, maybe for ron paulìs foreign policy? However, do yourself a favor: read rothbard's "for a new liberty" he was the mentor of ron paul, so you can understand why use the initiation of force against a producer for make him labeling his products is morally wrong.
It's the "organic/natural food" crowd
The culture, despite having a strong libertarian influence, is infested with socialists and propagandists and they come out of the woodwork whenever there is a Monsanto thread or an anti-Rand thread (or the perfect storm of both at once).
Hey, I choose to eat organic
Hey, I choose to eat organic food. However, I do not agree with the OP of this thread and I DO agree with italianpaulist. You really shouldn't lump everyone into black and white categories.
I didn't lump everyone in
I was talking about the socialists in the movement.
Should you be allowed to know that what you are about to put in
...your body will kill you? Cigarettes cause cancer. Those labels can probably come off now because EVERYONE KNOWS (or most everyone suspects) there are serious health effects to long-term, heavy smoking.
NOBODY KNOWS what foods have deadly GMOs in them. That is the difference. We have a right to know. That's all.
"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."
All it takes is a little
All it takes is a little research and common sense. But, mostly common sense. I choose to eat organic food grown myself and livestock naturally and locally raised because I just don't trust the other stuff. It doesn't require a label for me to come to that conclusion.
I am glad you are smarter than most people!
Many have no idea that the food they think is safe contains very deadly GMOs!

How is GMO labeling..
How is GMO labeling a FREE MARKET principal?
How does forcing corporations to label their products fit in with the Liberty Movement?

Corporations are not people my friend.
This is not a Romney forum. Corporations have a duty to be TRUTHFUL and not to harm people by hiding the truth about what their products do.
They are NOT above people who are required to post if they have a deadly dog on the premises, or if they are about to dynamite an area near homes, etc.
"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."
LMAO.. Corporations are not people my friend?
Wow.. I am starting to feel bad about beating what seems to be a dead horse.
"This is not a Romney forum." I am not so sure anymore when I read comments like yours. What gave you the impression I am a Romney supporter?
"Corporations have a duty to be TRUTHFUL and not to harm people by hiding the truth about what their products do."
Actually, they can "HIDE THE TRUTH" (funny how you look at the government in the expectation that they will find the truth for you.. that cracks me up lol)and if they harm someone with their products, they will ay for the harm they do, in a exemplary way.
"They are NOT above people who are required to post if they have a deadly dog on the premises, or if they are about to dynamite an area near homes, etc."
Holllyyyyyyyy (you know the rest)
You need to sit down and stop participating in forums until you comprehend what our fight is all about, my friend. You just confirmed that you have much to learn about the ideology Ron Paul supporters are defending.
I will try not to waste anymore time with you because you are obviously promoting an agenda that is not compatible with my interests.
Have a nice life..

The first responsibility of ALL government...
...is the protection of innocent life.
"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."
Then in that case, once we get abortion
outlawed in all fifty states with the noble exception of when the life or health of the mother is at risk, then we can start worrying about pesticides in canned goods.
Seat belt and helmet laws,
the entire War on Drugs, the FDA crackdowns on raw milk, city health departments shutting down lemonade stands, it just goes on and on.
New Hampshire and Ecuador.
Yes...but people KNOW car crashes can kill you...
No one has any idea that your food can too, when eaten as instructed.
For crying out loud, they are even killing cows with GMO grass now:
http://naturalsociety.com/genetically-modified-grass-kills-c...
All we are asking for is truth in labeling. It's the same as having a right to know that your cheap Walmart crap is coming from Communist China, and that's a lot less deadly-- requiring origin labeling.
"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."
ask a Socialist
Freedom requires responsibility. That is why most men dread it.
– George Bernard Shaw
“We have allowed our nation to be over taxed and over regulated and overrun by bureaucrats, the founders would be ashamed of us for what we're putting up with.” Ron Paul
and being responsible requires information.
If Monsanto is going to try and hide GMO products, responsible Americans will force them to be honest and label their toxic products. If Monsanto doesn't like it, too bad.
