Rand Paul to play centerfield at Congressional baseball game

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) -- Two members of Kentucky's federal delegation will face off in Thursday's congressional baseball game, an annual event that pits Republicans against Democrats.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul will be playing centerfield for the GOP while U.S. Rep. Ben Chandler will be at shortstop for the Democrats.

Rand has some big cleats to fill on the field as well

Rand strikes me as more of a singles hitter than a slugger, but you need both types of players to win games.

Put me in, Coach

I`m ready to play today. Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Sorry, Rand. John Fogerty took over my head. Congressional center fielder? Couldn't you play right field, instead? Maybe, pitcher?

No Hitter?

This story repeats the error that Ron Paul is the only player to hit a home run.

He's the only player to hit it out of the park, I believe, and at least one runner was on base.
