You can pass all the mandates you wish, I DO NOT COMPLY. I will not buy health insurance because you tell me I must. Who are you to tell me what to do.

Voluntary charitable giving vs Obamenycare mandates
A few weeks ago many were made aware of a woman on a bus being harassed by cruel teenagers. A fundraiser ensued and people voluntarily gave her about $400K !! C'mon, we don' need mandates! Another fundraiser since then ensued for a different reason, politicians raised millions in pledges for their campaign. There is hella money out there. Why can't there be a voluntary pool to help pay for people's medical costs that the government fat cats don't control, because when they do they skim a lot off the top for their own pockets (Clinton / Bush Katrina? Clinton Haiti?)
There is one sort of alternative healthcare coop in the Christian community. They do not allow people who are living high risk lifestyles or immoral lifestyles (cig smokers, drug users, and homos need not apply) so it leaves a lot of people out. But for their group it is working to keep everyone sharing in the costs.
Can gay groups have their own coop? They have their own credit cards and phone card groups, their own cruises, etc. They can do annual fundraisers for AIDS and get millions from celebs.
So, everyone, in their own groups, why not just do fundraising voluntarily on a case by case basis? Libertarians can fundraise millions for politicians, animals, causes, and Gary Johnson, Ron Paul see our potential, so why not for Joe's appendectomy?

I have health issues and if I lose my job I die and or go blind.. this helps me be able to get coverage from a provider if that happens.. Its not a perfect system but it will help me. cannot wait to pay.

Buying Something I don't Want
Do you pay into social security? I think I have been buying something for a long time that I do not want. I think it was perhaps one of the first steps of nationalized health care...I am seriously considering that SSN to be the source of the problem. And those sleepy eyes of mine just woke up to that fact today.

I've been searching around online, and it doesn't really seem like a SSN is needed AT ALL unless you want to be part of the "system". Don't need it to vote, don't need it to get a driver's license, don't need it for a passport (though they say it speeds up the process if you do). I'm cursing the day my parents got me my number! I want out!

Here in California, we already pay for an individual mandate...
and that mandate is Auto-insurance. Everyone has to have it. Without it, you can't have your driver's license. Its getting expensive living in California. And now they want us to have "health insurance." WTF? If it weren't enough paying the income tax, high rent, gas, food, sales tax, water, electricity, Internet, and Auto Insurance, now a Health mandate? Yikes, I better start packing my bags and flee to another state. At least to pay less than what I have to right now.

Government mandates of any sort have always been unconstitutional because they violate the very essence of a free market. But it looks like none of that exists in America now. Well I for one will not pay for the mandate. I have stopped paying my auto insurance mandate 7 months ago, and I have been driving around without any trouble ever since. This won't be any different.
