EUGENiCS> DailyMail UK: Do You know if Your Child is a GMO Baby?

World's first GM babies born

by MICHAEL HANLON, Daily Mail | Thursday, Jun 28 2012 12AM

The world's first geneticallymodified humans have been created, it was revealed last night.

The disclosure that 30 healthy babies were born after a series of experiments in the United States provoked another furious debate about ethics.

So far, two of the babies have been tested and have been found to contain genes from three 'parents'.

Fifteen of the children were born in the past three years as a result of one experimental programme at the Institute for Reproductive Medicine and Science of St Barnabas in New Jersey.

UPDATE 1

Tada! The story was already reported ELEVEN years ago:

Genetically altered babies born

Friday, 4 May, 2001, 15:26 GMT 16:26 UK

By BBC News Online science editor Dr David Whitehouse

Scientists have confirmed that the first genetically altered humans have been born and are healthy.

Up to 30 such children have been born - 15 of them as a result of one experimental programme at a US laboratory.

An "unwelcome" development say scientists
But the technique has been criticised as unethical by some scientists and would be illegal in many countries, including the United Kingdom.

WASHINGTON -- The world's first genetically modified humans have been born.

Scientists say that over recent years as many as 30 babies have been born, 15 of them after having revolutionary fertility treatment at a U.S. medical institute.

But some scientists have criticized the treatment, labeling it unethical because it uses the genes of a second mother.

Calm down People; this is a dishonest tabloid

The Daily Mail is Britain's version of the National Enquirer. Every now and then they get lucky with some decent news but on a daily basis they survive by making stuff up.

HONEST RON 2012!
LEGALIZE LIBERTY!

uh, a "tabloid?" CERTAINLY, but an equivalent to

Nat. Enquirer? ABSOLUTELY NOT.

There is a difference between hyping rumors, aka Tabloid, vs. outright lying, which is fraud and libelous.

This is the problem with DailyMail, 70% of their stories are TMZ crap, then they mix in really good info.

Like Pravda of yore, it can and does tell you the truth, if you read page A3, B13, and D9.

You gotta know what you're looking for and what they're omitting or twisting.

Ask any retired CIA analyst like Ray McGovern and Michael Scheuer, or former clandestine intel officers like Robert Steele, Bob 'Syrianna' Baer, and Philip Giraldi. They'll all readily tell you that about 88~92% of their intel ALL came from public sources, and many of them from Pravda, at least during the Cold War days. In fact, I believe either Ray or Steele is on record citing that specific percentage.

So no, this isn't in the same realm as Nat. Enq.'s typical alien abduction/women impregnation story.

Discernment my fellow AnCap; you wanna know the biggest kicker? This story is from ELEVEN years ago!

Yup, both CNN and BBC are just "making stuff up," too.

Well, actually I take that back: they DO "survive by making stuff up," ALL the time. Never mind. LOL

But really though, in the year 2012, why would anyone believe that CNN is so much more 'honest' and trustworthy than Daily Mail?

I don't see it.

Frankly it's a question I have for many: at this juncture in history, why SHOULD the likes of CNN, BBC be any more or less credible than DailyMail, when they've all equally proven themselves to be dishonest at times? Or, ASSociated Press and Reuters who routinely lied about actual delegate count, and lied about Dr. Paul's rallies' attendance numbers, for that matter?

Or, why should ANY of those traditional MSM outlets be any more or less credible than InfoWars?

Those media toilets are all last vestiges of an dying MSM imperial model. Saddest thing to me is, no matter how much people love the net and 'alt.news' frankly most in Alt. news still deem MSM to be credible, even many in r3VOL.

To me, this obvious contradiction is no different than say a minarchist holding on to his/her last 'legitimacy' of statism with striving for a never-achievable end goal of a "minimal" state vs. simply real in their life time or not, instead work toward a principled voluntaryist Anarcho-Capitalism, while using minarchism only as an interim step in getting there, just like how many AnCaps support Dr. Paul's call to restore the Constitution and the Republic, as in a nation where 99% of public servants and the voting citizenry are utterly clueless of the Constitution, to go from that to a AnCap voluntaryist society in a few election cycle is a pure fantasy. Besides even if various factions differ on its interpretation, the Const. is a physical document in which there is something TO even debate over, unlike to most statist when you mention Anarchism or any kind, they respond with a look of deranged horror at the prospect of getting rid of the very notion of govt where nothing is written down to control you.

PS.

Frankly, you'd be surprised just how twisted the entire field of eugenics is in Britain (and America, and elsewhere, but that's for another thread altogether). In fact their entire upper echelon still seems to be still very much obsessed with it, as they were over 100 years ago.

If you keep up with BBC (you know, more 'trustworthy' than DailyMailUK, if you think lying about WTC7 on camera was journalistic), you'd be shocked how often their science section gets routinely updated with eugenics info.

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

We have advanced so far that

We, as in our form of life, have advanced so far that a female who couldn't conceive was able to. What other species are able to do that, namely fix one of it's specimen's ability to procreate? We are evolving into something truly spectacular and I think it's really cool.

Have you seen this documentary about these kinds of developments?: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKxmqMH4w_A

technical progress, perhaps.

moral or ethical?

questionable.

I'd love to see an inheritance fight over a child out of wedlock who were conceived from willfully borrowed genes from several women/vice versa in a love triangle or polyamory gone awry. then we'll begin to really delve into realistic social, legal and private property ownership implications of these white-robes playing God, just because they think they can.

if you thought the a personal dilemma of a grown adult who were conceived as a byproduct of rape or incest would have it bad, wait until the above practice becomes more widespread.

problem with all this? if humanity had more than sufficient grasp of what genetics is, would be one thing. but, we have a white-robed cultist class whose idea of a 'sound scientific logic' is to label 99% of something they fundamentally, intellectually don't understand as "junk DNA," making judgment; that's WHY they're not to be trusted with such enormous power with almost inconceivable widespread moral ethical, and biological implications.

I guess evolution process were so smart and successful, apparently it never forgot to jettison 99% of what it didn't need in the process.

even outside of the strict Judeo-Christian paradigm of the West, the notion that something unknown designed everything we occupy is not a 'controversial' idea. You ask any Hindu Indian geneticist or Chinese/S.Korean/Japanese Buddhist geneticist if they believe everything came about post Big-Bang strictly out of some non-designy-design process aka evolution, they'll laugh at the absurd human hubris of it all.

when Dawkins actually gets around to answering why it is that DNA itself only began with ACTG, and never sought to evolve beyond that, then he can start messing around with 'laws' of Nature.

this is no different than a bunch of lab monkeys left unsupervised in a nuclear ICBM launch station where for some reason the two man separate activation key failed, no humans are around, yet all other portion of the launch sequence works, and they're simply left to be able to punch whatever blinking buttons.

Yes, modern scientists are a bunch of buffoons who are playing god, with implications that affect the entire flora and fauna should chimeras get introduced into the wild. And, those who may assume that the above experiment didn't happen without trying it out on animals, some mixing one species with another, aka chimera, before they ever tried it on humans, they're kidding themselves.

next to govt terrorists filled with hubris, the most dangerous subset of human species are pissed off nerds.

with govt terrorists, like in any master-slave relationship, there is some tacit agreement that one deludes being a slave is better than to be on their on, in order to attain power.

but, with scientists whose manifestation of their world view cannot really be countered, or even reset, are even more dangerous.

while some hyped concerns over plausibility of nano-black holes being created by CERN had its time in the Sun, but what if it did happen. Sure, even back in 40's some physicist thought an airborne nuke test would literally sequencially burn off the entire earth's atmosphere, the problem isn't the fact that they were postulating extreme 'what if's.'

the problem is, even KNOWING that to be a prevalent concern among many physicists, they went ahead with over 1000+ airborne nuke explosions since, spreading millions of years half-life nuke particulates worldwide.

now all the physical mechanism necessary to build and fund it aside, that is the difference between a political sociopath vs. a nerd sociopath. At least the former is selected, the latter, once a means is created there is no recall. just as there is no 'un-inventing' the gun powder, once it's out, it's out.

the other problem is, in science they routinely do these things without ever being liable.

some liberal govt lunatics in Illinois biatch about how they should mandate the free citizenry to obtain gun liability insurance before ever owning 'be allowed to own a gun.'

well, did anyone ask any of these eugenics firms, military ind. complex contractors, or nuclear industry to require full liability insurance before they begin working on more extraneous projects?

I mean what would a liability coverage be like on a nano blackhole? or I suppose, they won't have to worry if that ever were to become true. LOL

what about GMO? did anyone require via prior restraint what Monsatan could or could not do before they permanently poisoned the entire globe's seed lineage?

no.

I mean, what would a liability insurance look like on a single firm globally poisoning our food supply, permanently? It'd be inconceivable.

so there is no amount of moral, legal, or governmental way to be responsible for some specialized broadstroke technology gone awry.

can you imagine what will happen in about less than 20years when self-replicating flying nanobots designed to clean up industrial rust in huge pipe systems become a reality and say its AI malfunctions, and their deactivation protocol failed, now the naonbot cloud is released and they cannot differentiate rust vs. organic matter and begin stripping away on all living things they see. what then?

what would the liability insurance on the scientist who invented that technology without fully thinking it through?

and they call some gun owners "irresponsible?"

the scale of failure between a scientist and a Joe-"GunNut" is literally lightyears apart.

There is no amount of damage a single 'layman' can do, that will remotely compare with the failure of a scientist's physical manifestation of their 'fundamental physical force in the universe' ideas gone awry be they nuclear, genetic, or robotic.

the scale of damage is also often irreversible and as seen in Fukushima, can affect the entire globe.

that is why, I humbly state that monkeys should not be playing god with technology they cannot fathom, nor even attempt to respect. though I don't believe in prior restraint or govt to be a proper 'regulator' to that effect.

the eugenicists literally are the 3yr olds left unattended with a 2lbs trigger, loaded single action revolver.

guess you're a gun nut if you like steel, polymer, copper, lead and propellant, but if you like/are callous with GM sequencing, Cesium, Plutonium, Anti-Matter, then well you're a F'ng genius. no? .o)
