Skousen proffers support to Ron Paul but then he starts out by fortune telling that Russia and China will both initiate a Preemptive nuclear strike on the U.S. in the next 5 to 10 years, and that they actually want to do that. Of course such a foolish act would mean suicide for them as well. Skousen does not and cannot know the future and it is foolish of him to think he has such powers.

He uses knee jerk neocon style phrases like calling them both “predator states” to demonize them and assert they want to launch nuclear attacks on the U.S. It sounds like neocon fear-mongering propaganda to rally support for the perpetual military industrial complex. Skousen’s fear-mongering plays right into the hands of those who would promote perpetual cold/hot war and expansion of the military industrial complex, and totalitarian domestic “national security” measures.

That sounds diametrically opposite of President Paul’s foreign policy perspective and view toward other countries.

If there were real apprehension of military conflict with these people then the answer is not to escalate the situation and pour more fuel and kindling into the pot. Rather it is to spread the philosophy of liberty, open trade, commerce, travel, dialogue, increase prosperity, increase freedom, spread goodwill, communication, and free enterprise. Skousen’s demonization of other countries with fortune telling prophesies of future evil deeds does not do that. Rather such fear-mongering lays the foundation for a new cold war, isolationism, or even a hot war. While that may please neoconservatives and certain corporatists of the military industrial complex, it is not good for any of us or the populace at large of any nation.

And if one looks objectively at the military actions and foreign policy of nations what do we see?

Is China pushing to expand naval presence and military bases in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Cuba, Virgin Islands and Gulf of Mexico? Or is the U.S. pushing to expand military presence and bases off China’s shores in the South China Sea: http://www.businessinsider.com/the-us-is-reopening-massive-p...

Are Russia and China placing missiles and building new bases in Mexico and Canada, not far from the U.S. border? Or is it the U.S. government that has been building bases and placing missiles in places like Poland, Czech Republic, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, etc. not far from China and Russia’s borders?

Are China and Russia sending military drones at will into other nations in violation of their national sovereignty? Or is it the U.S. government violating the sovereignty of other nations at will with drones?

Is it China and Russia mandating to the rest of the world who they are allowed to trade with, or is it the U.S. mandating that other nations participate in economic blockades that the U.S. declares? Is it Russia and China currently initiating regime change and color revolutions in other nations through CIA front organizations like “US National Endowment for Democracy” or is it the U.S. government?

Who is initiating provocative actions? Who is pushing war? Who is pushing military conflict?
Who is pushing preemptive strikes?
Who is legitimizing preemptive strikes?
Who’s government leaders are loudly and repeatedly proclaiming that a nuclear preemptive strike is “not off the table”?
Which government is currently doing the most to legitimize torture/water boarding of foreign citizens, kidnapping /renditions of foreign citizens, assassinations with targeted drone strikes in other sovereign nations, preemptive warfare, perpetual occupation, economic blockades …

If you want peace, then promote peace instead of fortune telling scare mongering prognostications about evil countries labeling them “predator states,” especially when your own government’s current conduct is so heinous. Be peaceful. Open commerce, free trade, promote dialogue, promote freedom, spread the philosophy of liberty, set an example for prosperity by cutting the size of your own government and massively reducing tax burdens, and expanding freedom your own country. Avoid isolationist policies like economic blockades, embargoes, sanctions and war.

If nuclear war is a risk, it is U.S. government Hubris that is fueling it and promoting it: http://lewrockwell.com/roberts/roberts352.html

There is a big difference between fear-mongering and vigilance.

This is the latter. Skousen lays it all out here. For the sheeple to hear this, I agree that they would call it fear-mongering.... not for the rest of us.

I wholeheartedly agree to be

I wholeheartedly agree to be forewarned is forearmed.

Armageddonists keep the fear

Armageddonists keep the fear in the flock so they won't up and leave. I gave that BS up years ago and never regretted it.

W. Cleon Skousen is best remembered as a popular author, speaker and teacher who lectured in every state and province in North America, and in more than 60 countries world-wide. He was a student of history and a scholar of law, specializing in the principles of Freedom, the U.S. Constitution, economics, and ancient history and scriptures.

He was invited to write a new constitution for Canada and the proposed United States of Latin America, and he published a model constitution that could be adopted by nations everywhere. He served in the FBI for 16 years, four years as Chief of Police in Salt Lake City, and ten years as a university professor. He was a prolific writer and produced three national best sellers, The Naked Communist, The Naked Capitalist, and The Five Thousand Year Leap. He believed knowledge and understanding were key to maintaining a free country, and spent his entire adult life opening up complex issues for deeper understanding by students and audiences all around the world.

Mr. Skousen and his wife, Jewel Pitcher of San Bernardino, California, are the parents of eight children, 50 grandchildren, and more than 120 great-grandchildren.
