I'm beginning to fear the 'Liberty Movement'! I know one of the Dearborn "Christians" personally...Submitted by 1controversialchick on Sat, 06/30/2012 - 10:04
He had breakfast in our home. From someone who knows at least one of these men personally, I would like to say, I do NOT approve of Christians behaving in the manner shown on the "stoning film". I even wonder if the man in question is a true born-again child of God. If you want to win someone to Jesus Christ, this is DEFINITELY NOT the way to go about it! Though I am not God and cannot know his true motives, I think he's more interested in feeding his pride than anything else.
That being said however, the issue at hand is free speech. A good percentage of the Ron Paul crowd apparently does not understand this concept. They will get angry about the neocons wanting to wage war against Muslims for having violent sentiments toward Christianity, but then excuse this type of behavior because "those guys got what they deserved!" How is this different than someone protesting police brutality and then being beaten down by officers, because 'obviously, he KNEW the cops were going to get irate at his message. so, he got what he deserved'. Where will it end up? Are some here on the DP so blind??!!
I am actually beginning to fear the 'liberty movement'. I have been told more than once here on the DP, that what I'm saying "will NOT be tolerated!" What else can this mean but, "I will use violence if necessary, to keep your mouth shut!"? Ron Paul and his supporters used to stand for the freedom of speech. But this movement is digressing to the point of standing for only "popular liberty talk"--in other words you can say anything that the majority in our group believes and nothing more.
When things get to this point, it's almost over. When even liberty folk don't understand the nature of free speech, we're done for!
