"MONOPOLY MONEY"
I was talking with my father about Ron Paul's message and the problems with spending and inflation in this country. My parents are both Republicans but aren't sure they want to vote for Ron Paul yet. However, they DO agree with Ron Paul's message as far as the economy goes. They recognize that he is probably strongest on this point.
In discussing inflation and how the dollar is losing it's value, my father suggested that Ron Paul use the term "monopoly money," as in the board game Monopoly. Most people understand this term to mean "fake" or "worthless" money, or play money, and as such it's something simply and memorable for him to say.
So I think Ron Paul should start using that phrase in debates! When the issue comes up, Ron Paul should say something along the lines of:
"We are trillions of dollars in debt, and the excessive spending both domestically and abroad is turning everyone's money into Monopoly Money -- it's worthless! Most of all this hurts the lower and middle classes who are finding it harder to buy the things they depend on to work and carry on, things like gasoline, milk, food and more.
Keep bumping this topic, and let's see if Ron Paul or Campaign HQ can get Paul to say this in the debates tonight! I think this would be a powerful and memorable message, and one that would not only really connect to people but result in a lot of much-needed attention for Paul.
What do you all think?

Testing.
My comments are getting marked as spam, so wanted to test leaving a comment one more time. This is ridiculous. What are these new restrictions? I supported manystrom in whatever he needed to keep the board clean, but I cannot see any justification for that classification of my comments.

Political Integrity
When the government has a Money Monopoly, all we get is Monopoly Money.
Could the sound bite be any more brief?
Also, it's a mistake to suggest that our fiat Federal Reserve Account Unit of Debt is backed up by nothing. It is backed up by something even more rare than silver or gold. Our FRAUD note is backed up by POLITICAL INTEGRITY.

That is an amazing soundbyte. Wow. We definitely have to get Paul saying that. Great work!
That was awesome, and profound
best of all true.

Ask yourself this
Ask yourself this question... What does it cost the Federal Resere to print a $1 bill. Ok now ask another question.. What does it cost them to print a $100 bill. O wait . its the same cost. This doesnt make any since to any of the people that I talk to about it and they usually end up agreeing with me. (Also remind them the money is not backed by anything)
It's also literally true.
The Fed is a monopoly.

You may want to take care using the
word "worthless" and use "worth" "less". I recall, in the late 1970s, when we were all enjoying the stagflation during the Carter administration, I actually introduced a pro forma motion, at a republician precinct meeting to introduce a clause into the republican platform calling for "honest money", as defined by the U.S. Constitution. During the discussion, I gave the standard explanations of the operation of the Fed and the effects of fiat money, stating at one point that, over time, it would be worthless. One smartass asked: "How much of it are you giving away tonight?"
That's a good point.
I agree. Maybe things like "It's worth less than ever before" could help. How did you respond to that smartass?
haha
Good point. Nothing is worthless unless no one wants it.
He actually has used that term
Can't remember which (of the thousands ) of video's it was in, but I have heard him say that
I'd love to see that!
Please let me know if you remember where he might have said that! I'd love to see it for myself.
Good term
Since the Federal Reserve has a monopoly over the legal tender money supply, the money it creates is by definition monopoly money.

I didn't thing about it from that perspective. The campaign HAS to get this.

With Paul's new fire, this phrase would fit right in!
Wow!! Thanks for all the support!
Keep bumping this topic, and email HQ with a link to this page or at least the phrase! Let's get this in Dr. Paul's talking points!

Disenting the war is still not popular in this rural red state
I called in and said: I hate to bring up the war, but your paying for this war with inflation. Look around the price of everything has doubled since this thing started.

Good point. Not like gasoline is cheaper because we're protecting "our" oil.
Yeah, right.
At least in Monopoly there is a fixed amount of money
That's why you can still buy Park Place for a few hundred dollars.
But I think it might get peoples attention.
Monopoly Money
Is a very good explanation of our failing currency, and your whole soundbyte sounds great! Bump!
Focusing the country on the economy / spending ONLY way to win
The economy and spending are the true main campaign themes. Listen to Paul on the war, on healthcare, on immigration, on taxes, on almost anything and the underlying theme is economics.
The other candidates cannot touch him on this.
People relate when it hits their wallets
His voting record is immaculate
MSM is already talking about this - look at the beck utube video. Dobbs...
The grassroots need to do the same and align behind this message. Please post comments in this thread.

This quote from Ron's recent email to supporters:
If you have suggestions for me to do better, I want to hear them. But beating back the enemy, teaching so many young people and others about liberty, that is our victory, and it is real and permanent. Won't you link arms with me? We will have more vote victories too, if we stick together and do not let the enemy divide us.
He wants to hear our suggestions and this is a good one.
Monopoly money
This would make for a good "sound byte" kind of thing.
