Recount Could Backfire - Insider in NH Campaign Staff Says They Didn't Execute
A recount may be the best thing that could happen right now, and it could be the worst. Word is that the NH Campaign staff did not execute the plan to reach 300 to 400 thousand voters by phone to get the necessary 30,000 votes to place in the top tier. The campaign manger was too young [22 years old] and appeared to have a different agenda from one source.
"We had 14 phones and were only allowed to make calls at the campaign HQ. We were hamstrung. No material was allowed to be copied or carried off premises to make phone calls from home locations or by cell phone. Some of us had to drive multiple hours to donate our time and resources. The Clinton campaign passed out cell phones and had over 100 lines for making calls. What was their result?"
Another campaign worker disagreed and said, "The message just did not resonate with the public and that was the reason for the results."
Whatever the reason both had the same outcome. Low numbers for Ron Paul. Will a recount confirm that he did get close to what was reported? If so, it could signal a sour grapes retort from the other candidates and the media.
If the numbers are shown to be drastically skewed then there's something to be said for funding a recount. However, will the media pick up the story and run that a recount is underway? This author says, hopefully not. Not until there is drastic evidence of hanky-panky or incompetence with the tallymen. If there is to be found that vote fraud occured then the media will have a story, for both Ron's sake and maybe Obama's. The news agencies will most certainly run a sour grapes story or two should they find the results were correct. Let's hope that doesn't happen.

RSK The pros and cons of a N.H. recount. Pros: 1. Potential additional uncounted/unmarked votes for our candidate. 2. The possibility of unearthing and thus revealing documented election fraud. 3. Exposing electronic voting machines for what they truly are; the PTB's current and most important tool for "appointing" their chosen candidate. Cons: 1. The MSM would be even more critical of Dr. Paul, labeling him a "sore loser" who can't deal with the facts, reality as it were. They would treat him poorly! So essentially the MSM's treatment of Dr. Paul would remain unchanged from where it is now. So I guess it's not really a Con. I can't really think of anymore Cons. So be it.
Perhaps you are correct
The insiders/establishment already treat all of us pporly so what difference will there be if a recount does happen. And I'm sure they are going to allow an "Okay, you caught us" news story to surface if anything is shown have gone "wrong" during the count.

This recount will establish whether automated voting machines are reliable. If the numbers stay the same then we may move forward with confidence that our vote will be represented accurately and without further debate. If the numbers change then we may move forward with confidence that automated voting machines are unreliable and thus should be concidered a thing of the past. In this way I see the recount as not only wholly benificial but fundamentally necessary for the integrity of the voting process to remain intact.

We have no voice without free elections
My friend and I both knew right away when we saw the Diebold optical scanners sitting in the corner that the election had been stolen. No one wanted machines; we want paper ballots like we have always had here. Diebold machines show up all of a sudden? Give me a break. I think it is important to have a recount. My opinion is that 31 votes do not disappear in NH by accident, this is a small state. This is a constitutional republic, but we are supposed to have democratic elections and this stuff is important so stop whining about the recount. I want Dr. Paul to win the election as badly as anyone, but having free elections is more important than even that. If we don’t have free elections all our work is down the drain, don’t be naïve.
Plus, those phone calls, especially the auto-dialer, tend to cost votes, not garner votes. People are mostly angered by those calls. I think you probably gained votes from refraining from calling.

what is your point in asking this question? Thats what I want to know! What can you possibly want to know about how this might divide the revolution?
Do you want my answer? My answer is that this information will NOT divide the revolution till IT'S SOURCES ARE PROVEN SO IT CAN BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. Even after that people will want a true honest election so they will always want a recount. To work so hard for a purpose then to have someone steal your actual voice in the matter is something that NO MAN will stand for.
Now I ask you, what do you want to learn from asking people these questions?

This article is seriously stupid. The author can't reveal their sources (or any source for that matter) and then he/she asks how this article will divide the revolutionaries. It's like they are testing this article on the supporters to GET THEM to become divided.

It's great to hear about your experiences and I Thank You for your your efforts. I understand what your saying. The last I heard there were two cities where votes for RP were marked as zero when he obviously had at least one. So apparently, and this is rumor mill, someone in an official capacity admitted to these accusations. Anyhow, I believe the recount is meant to be a strategic move to expose vote fraud which will also bring on discussion of the voting machines. There are some who wish not to hear that type of talk and will go to great lengths for it's dismissal...so I hear. I see your point of view though. Don't feel down about our showing in NH. You all did a great job and I Thank You very much for all of your efforts. Keep your chin-up! This is just the beginning and we're in need of more people such as yourself!

Anyhow, the two campaign workers should be urged to write about their experiences. Since you know them, will you ask them to tell their story so we can all learn from their experiences? The keyword is ABOUT. Why is it so apparent that less care is taken counting the vote than most of us make preparing breakfast?

After an entire decade when most people in this country at least consider it possible that the sitting president is a fraud you might think the system for casting and counting ballots would have become more transparent , not less so. So this is about restoring integrity.

Oh my, what else did you write or do to be called worse?
Evidence has been presented for both the D and R primaries that contradicts the final results, voter fraud has been occurring time and time again in the past. Diebold machines have been proven to essentially be designed for manipulation from the ground up. Many places have outlawed their use.
A large difference is not needed, as long as one is there then the manipulators will know that the heat is on. Some may screw up, some may even turn up as whistle blowers.
I dont think you will divide anyone because most people who hang around here dont jump on the bandwagon, they stop to think and evaluate others' motivations.

I dont have to create evidence to counter your claims, it was your job to provide evidence to back them up in the first place so that criticism wouldnt even be an issue.
Hand Count = 18.4%, Machine Count = 7.1%
That will be evident in the recount.
Math error
The post (http://www.dailypaul.com/node/24308) claiming 18.4% was wrong in at least two ways:
First, it added at least 100 votes to RP's total by double-counting. The poster claimed that RP got 1,301 + 17,119 votes, for a total of 18,420. In reality, RP got a total of 18,303.
Second, it only counted "hand-count" counties where RP got more than 10% of the vote. The "machine count" 7.4% includes both hand-count and machine count.
In other words, it's COMPLETELY wrong. Use the real numbers.
You can't use BAD MATH and DOUBLE-COUNTING to back up your claims.

Um. Even if the vote doesn't change this needs to happen. Too many questions about the whole process. These machines need to go, maybe this will be the route for that.

We have to spotlight the Diebold Machine errors.
That is the message, even if it does not change a 5th place finish into a 3rd place finish.
