The Free Market and Mandatory "Health Care"Submitted by go213mph on Mon, 07/02/2012 - 09:51
Because I have seen so many people compare how we are now going to be forced to have health insurance to how we are already forced to have car insurance, it made me think. The free market has come up with many ways to prove you have car insurance just long enough for you to get your tags renewed or your drivers liscense renewed, etc.
I expect the same will happen with obamacare. Websites and "healthcare" companies will start popping up that allow you to purchase health coverage that will have some cleverly worded specifics in the contract that will cause it to terminate after 2 weeks or a month. You will be able to get proof of coverage for just long enough to avoid paying the "penalty or tax" of not having it.
So, just like it is now with car insurance...you will be able to pay The Genreal.com $300 for instant proof of insurance and after you get the tag, DL, or registration (or in the case of healthcare...your heathcare card)...your insurance will aburptly be canceled.
Even though car insurance is requried, many people have no car insurance but still drive their car. It's why auto insurance compaines always have a specific fee that is added "for uninsured motorists" of other cars.
I see the same thing playing out with healthcare. A fee will be added to everyone's healthcare plan for "the uninsured individual" who has somehow avoidid the system.
If you want people to really start using their heads and if you want to see just how enterprising Americans can be, just FORCE them to do something they don't want to. Many people would rather spend MORE money to fight against the tyranny of force than it would would cost them to comply. And there will always be money to be made by compaines who come up with ways to legally "get around the system".
While Obamacare will certainly be bad for everyone, it's the upper middle class who will lose the most. They will end up paying much more money for an inferior product. It will be the middle and upper class people who will have more of their wealth transfered to the 1% who own all the big health care corporations. The unemployed and working poor will find ways around the system simply because they cannot pay for something when they don't have any money.
GO RON PAUL! PEACE. EVERYONE BE IN TAMPA on Aug 26th. Lets make history for future generations!
