How Nebraska can become the 5th State and Links to media

The Nebraska Republican Party is in a panic mode. Both of these articles show the fear. The governor's oligarchy is failing.

what's up with Louisianna?

anyone from the campaign checking up on things?

seems the GOP is doing everything they can to keep Ron Paul at 4 states.
(conspiracy or truth?)

When GOP leaders are on record as to saying "we will do whatever it takes to keep Ron Paul out or from winning".

the only way RP takes the 2012 nomination will be by RP delegates and others that wake up on the spot and overthrow the establishment.

Bumping!

Hope everybody's really, really organized!

URGENT: Lawyers, Cameras and Reporters on the Ground

Ron Paul needs Nebraska as the fifth state in order to be nominated. Lawyers and cameras need to be in place, on the ground and present for the July 14 meeting in Grand Island. Romney and the RNC will stop at nothing to prevent Ron Paul from getting delegates and getting his name on the ballot. Please, please! Contact reporters, and get them to show up. Fear of exposure is the only way to stop a machine the size of the GOP or Romney and his handlers/backers.

LLST in Nebraska

The Liberty Live Stream Team (LLST) plans to be in Nebraska in Grand Island, on the 14th to livestream their state Convention. LLST live streamed the Oklahoma Republican State convention, Texas Republican State Convention and filmed the Arkansas Summer State Committee Meeting (election of national delegates & alternates).

So, we plan on being there and live streaming.

Bravo LLST!

The more the merrier! I, for one, will look forward to watching your live stream. Well done! Excellent! Right on!

5 States' delegations

Ron Paul has the votes he needs to be placed in nomination if there is a vote by each delegation as to whom to place into consideration.

Binding, so far as I know, only applies to voting to choose the candidate, not choosing whom to be a nominee -- can anyone verify this?

Placing his name into nomination must have to be done from the floor by vote of each state's delegation and no one knows what that result will be. I don't see how, with so many unbound delegates, they can do it any other way.

I'm just speculating because I have not seen anyone talk about binding delegates for the vote that places names into nomination, only about who they can vote for once that's done. Stupid GOP site doesn't list their bylaws or convention rules.

Seriously, ALL the delegates will be in better negotiating posititions if they succeed in placing more than one name into nomination. Romney's camp would begin some serious dealing prior to the first vote to choose among the nominees (the "bound" round).

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

I love the governor's comment

I love the governor's comment in the 2nd article.

"I welcome the tea party and Ron Paul supporters," Heineman said. "That's great for our party. But it's time to be good sports and get behind Governor Romney."

That's right, liberty lovers, time to be "good sports". Time for you to just go to the backroom, stuff envelopes and make phone calls for mittens. Nevermind if you disagree vehemently with his views, just be a "good sport", (and assume the position).

I'm pretty sure I can't coexist in the same party as these tools.

I must be willing to give up what I am in order to become what I will be. Albert Einstein

Of course the best way

to resolve this:

"I'm pretty sure I can't coexist in the same party as these tools."

is to purge those tools from the GOP.

extreme cognitive dissonance

"he has reportedly recruited candidates against incumbent Republicans"

Why are Republican incumbents sacrosanct? My guess is many of the people that make statements like this are the same people that complain about teachers unions making sure "incumbent" teachers don't lose their jobs no matter how bad a teacher they are. If a teacher is doing a bad job, they should be replaced with someone better. Why should it be any different for politicians?

Bastille Day is a turning point

This brings hope. I do have a question though. Where does Orr really stand? Will he be willing to actually nominate Ron Paul at the Convention? or is he a Romney plant? I am assuming the head of the Party will also head up the delegates at the convention. Correct me if I am wrong.

The Romney folks will play every dirty trick in the book to make sure his folks get in even if the numbers are against him.

Only 4? For REAL?

In an honest world what do you suppose the TRUE count would be? How many states are counted? THAT would likely be the true figure.

skippy

It is NOT an Honest World

Ron Paul has plurality in only 4 states. For real. Deal with it.

When asked if Ron Paul would

When asked if Ron Paul would have a 5 state majority, Doug Wead responded by citing Rule 40.

Gop Rule 40: A 5 State Plurality, Not A Majority

http://www.dailypaul.com/242911/gop-rule-40-a-5-state-plural...

“Each candidate for nomination for President of the United States and Vice President of the United States shall demonstrate the support of a plurality of the delegates from each five (5) or more states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of that candidate for nomination” - Republican Party Rule 40, Section B

What is a, "plurality," of delegates?

Plurality - a candidate wins more delegates than any other candidate, but less than a majority (50% + 1 vote).

I think Ron Paul is already eligible to win the republican nomination according to Republican Party Rule 40, Section B.

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

Ron Paul WAS eligible; He Is No Longer

Ron Paul had plurality in 5 states until Romney and the RNC ousted 17 Ron Paul delegate in Massachusetts for failing to sign (illegal) affidavits binding their votes to Romney. That is why Nebraska is so important now. Ron Paul needs Nebraska in order to win back his fifth state. (You can be sure that the RNC/Romney camp knows this too. They will stop at nothing.)

Expect a battle. Be prepared: Lawyers, cameras and reporters take your positions on the ground at the July 14 meeting in Grand Island.

July 14th Ron Pauls 5th state

There's reason for them to be concerned. No info can be given now, hoping July 14th is my Independence Day.

the 15th is my birthday

Nebraska give me a great Birthday Present.

You need Parlimentarians

You need experts in Roberts Rules of Order to beat them at the game they are not experts in. You need to show up in Mass and know how to run a meeting. You need to know the rules by heart and be able to act immediately. Hire a parlamentarian if you have to.

show up

Show up in mass!

Please Be Careful

We are in a very delicate stage of things here in Nebraska. Please resist blasting the links with comments. We can't win through comments on the blogs and newspapers here in Nebraska, and it will just make it tougher for those on the ground.

Please take to heart the

Please take to heart the comment above. I commend those on The DP for keeping up on the current issues, but we need all the respect in the comments of articles, and on this site.

Free news coverage!

My momma always told me to take whatever is given to you and make the best of it. In this case, at least while their complaining about us we're getting some attention from the media, in turn people that don't know about Ron Paul might just look him up, do a little reading, watch a few videos, and then maybe, we get another convert to the Ron Paul team. Let them whine.

I smell honey in Nebraska.

I smell honey in Nebraska. Bzzzzzzz

I love these whiny articles.

They just crack me up. Oh, boo-hoo. We rigged the election so that it would look like Romney's the big fat winner, but the Paulbots won't accept it. Why don't you guys just get in line and help destroy the country with the rest of us? What's wrong with you guys? We didn't make these rules so that YOU could win by following them! Please! Just quit thinking! What the heck is WRONG with you people? Don't you see that if you don't vote for Romney that Obama will have another four years? WAAahahhhhhh!!!!!! You freedom-loving individual thinkers just suck!!

We need the Stream Team to broadcast this convention!

On the 14th! We plan on being there!

Campaign for Liberty

Hey everyone,
This post is unrelated to the post but I just received a call from Campaign for Liberty and they said they're planning a grass roots campaign to get the word out on Dr. Paul's Audit the Fed bill. If you can at all give to them. Their goal is 1.5 million in the next week. Thanks guys. I love being able to stand with fellow like minded liberty lovers. The Liberty movement continues!!! http://www.campaignforliberty.com/

All our efforts should go to Winning Nebraska

.... Getting the 5th State would mean we get more visibility in Tampa.
