They want to manage me.

I don't like doctors because they try to manage me and disregard my sense of choice for myself. I don't go to get a yearly check up. I don't do the gynecologist. After my first managed birth I decided on home births. I do have one condition that requires that I see the doctor every year to get a prescription. I shop around for doctors and have chosen one that helps me manage my health instead of insisting on managing my care.

I called his office to see if he would write my prescription but they said I had to come in for a visit. When he came in to talk to me he started talking about neurologists, yearly physicals, pap smears, medicine blood levels, and liver screening tests. This was out in left field because this was the same doctor that I took my home birthed son to and he didn't blink an eye at the shoe string I used to tie off the umbilical cord and he said NOTHING about my lack of OBGYN care.

After pointing out to him that I've never been one to seek "unneeded" medical care, HE pointed out that my health insurance provider now sends him a report if I have skipped what they see as necessary. He then showed me the reports that his office had received about me over the last year. There were six of them. One of them told the doctor that I was late in ordering my prescription, therefore I wasn't taking my medicine.

So now I'm really freaking out and he can see that. He goes on to explain that he has two sons who are doctors and are in Wahington D.C. They have told him that by 2014 doctors will be rated and paid accordingly. Every time a doctor gets a report like the ones I'm receiving it will count against the doctor. So doctors will have to pick and choose, and dump patients like me to make money in there practice.

I can't wrap my head around this. If I want to get away from managed care I can dump my insurance, but wait, now I can't without being taxed.

I was so freaked out that I called my brother and we argued about who is doing this? He believes that there is a central power that is using government and corporations to control us. I believe that the corporations are using the government to control us. Any thoughts.

Yup. That's it. "Welcome" to

Yup. That's it. "Welcome" to the health-"care" planners' spreadsheets. You've become a variable of one of their secret formulas.

Bitter consolation: it's the same for all of us, we just realize it at different times.

I understand and I'm sorry you freak out. Don't desperate, nothing is lost yet, we can still fight this horror hopefully.

We sure don't want HR 3962 fully implemented. THAT will grow our hair gray.

Keep the faith.

I don't know what your condition is

But it's my firm belief that there is no symptom that a pharmaceutical drug can manage that the right nutrients can't cure.

Check out Dr. Peter Glidden. Listen to some of his previous shows (click Archives). Call in and ask him yourself. You'll be glad you did.

All of this crap is due to government interference,.....

and lawsuits. Medicine is in a sad state. The bureaucracy has taken all of the challenge and fulfillment out of the field, IMO.

Your doctor was either sued, OR he underwent "a medical chart review," OR his practice was bought, and he now has "employers" that he must satisfy. He now practicing defensive, politically correct medicine.

Signing waivers don't work any longer in court. The patient should still have a choice of what they want and what they do not want. However, the patient (now called a client) is losing control of their own medical decision making. "Welcome to the desert of the real." Ob/Gyn is the highest litigated medical field. Doctors can be sued up to 18 years after a delivery even if they have been retired for years. Believe it. The screws were turned on your physician. It's not his fault, it's the system.

Insurance companies have to sue. They paid the bill.

Patients not more than a farm animal getting crappy health care.

I am freaking out

just reading about your exprience. Would you mind sharing the provider that sent these reports?
Did the Dr let you have a copy of any of the reports?

They want these tests run because these tests open a person up to the prescriptions. Without the tests you will not need various scripts to alleviate a menu of symptoms.

I wonder if the health care provider sent your doctor any information regarding how to eat well?

The Medical profession is a money machine. They profit when you don't get well. There is no law saying Doc has to cure you, just treat you (like a money machine). Their fraud, just like the Federal Reserves counterfeiting is a crime.

This following is some great material. I always believed that my diet was very healthy with lots of veggies, fruit, low-fat, grains, etc.

Well, I've just learned about the following about a week or two ago and boy, is it opening up my eyes!

Reading and learning like crazy lately :)

"Wheat Belly"

William Davis - The Dangers of Wheat

Dr. William Davis, cardiologist and seeker-of-truth in health exposes "healthy whole grains" for the incredibly destructive genetic monsters they've become. Over 80% of the people he meets today are pre-diabetic or diabetic. In an effort to reduce blood sugar, he asked patients to remove all wheat products from their diet based on the simple fact that foods made of wheat flour raise blood sugar higher than nearly all other foods, regardless if the wheat is organic, multi-grain, whole grain or sprouted. The results were positively drastic. Dr. Davis will discuss the benefits of going wheat free. We'll cover genetic changes of wheat verses ancient grains. He explains how modern wheat is an opiate and appetite stimulant. William also breaks down the internal components of wheat and how they interact with the body in negative ways linked to a slew of health problems. He also explains the great lie of gluten free bread. Why aren't doctors giving this important research any attention?

Dr. Davis' interview is a "must listen"

I shared it with family and friends last week.

I can personally attest to the positive results experienced by dropping wheat and all wheat related products from my diet. Twenty-six pounds have simply fallen off in the past 8 weeks, and I don't get those ravenous feelings any more. Due to a leg problem, this weight loss took place with no exercise whatsoever. Heartburn and inflamed gums have nearly vanished.

I'm simply astounded. It's like a miracle.

Refusing a patient

is breaking the Hippocratic oath. Oh wait, they are Hippocritz just like the "oath keepers" in Congress. Ron Paul, however, is an oath keeper for sure. No doubt about that.

one piece of the oath that applies

I will remember that I remain a member of society with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.

A to B

I was always taught that the shortest way to get from A to B is a straight line. In healthcare, if A is the patient and B is the doctor, then C is the gov't, D is the employer, E is the healthcare insurance company. There are so many middle men leeching off the system, its no wonder we have such an expensive healthcare system. We go from A-D-C-E-B rather than from A-B.

Amazing how easily people accept...

... statistics about how much death and injury are caused by the health care industry and "medical errors".

Did it ever occur to any of you that the people who compiled and published these statistics you quote are the SAME people who are lobbying for more government regulations and monitoring of doctors and patients?

I happen to work on the quality control committee for our hospital and we are VERY alert for medical errors. Most errors are things like a medicine being administered 10 minutes late. I literally can't remember the last time an error was the proven or even the likely cause of a death or injury.

And yet the bureaucrats and bean counters in Washington tell you that hospitals are death houses. They tell you that doctors and nurses don't care, that we are lazy, greedy, or stupid and that THEY need to protect you from us.

This is the same strategy of trading freedom for security that has justified letting big government grow even bigger, more powerful and invasive for the last one hundred years.

The Doctors ran their own study. Average MD life is 56 years.

I wonder if any of the mistakes during my wife's appendicitis were reported. The botched stomach tube insertion? Titanium staples and her mercury filling were tasering her and melting roots off of her teeth. We have X-rays. All the Doctors were in denial.

The swelling was so bad it blew out a hernis. The repaired the hernia, and added 27 more staples and she never really healed but swelled up worse. Nothing would touch the pain. Morphine was a joke. They called her crazy. But she knew each piece of metal they left, they felt like sharp glass but worse.

When they finally removed all ttianium the pain was gone, immediately even though they had to fillet her like a fish to do it. Well of course two dissimilar metals in an electrolyte makes a battery. But the wife was crazy?

I know tow people who died of these titanium staples and our list in our community is over a dozen and the doctors call them crazy. But they have batteries. And they tazer the nerves.

I don't know who you are listening to

I haven't heard a single "bureaucrat" or "bean counter" in Washington say any such thing. Apparently you have been away for a while so let me fill you in. The "bureaucrats" and "bean counters" are the very ones who are trying to force this healthcare scam on us. And I don't need anyone to tell me how bad your hospitals, pharmacy and doctors can be because I have LIVED it.

I think you are lost or maybe you just feel threatened by the truth. There is no doubt that the medical establishment is the number one cause of death in this country.

I for one

Do not want more government in medicine! I want LESS government controls! And when I have personally witnessed errors and mistakes in medication/procedures at hospitals and seen doctors pushing pill after pill after pill without even checking to see if the pill they are pushing on a patient will have any interaction with the other 20-30 pills they have prescribed for the same patient, then I tend to believe those statistics!

I never post on here but I just had to...

Here's a bright idea. How about just staying healthy to begin with. Diabetes, and heart disease can be solved by simply eating a better diet. Raw Vegan, or at least a diet high in fruits and vegetables. Just as we don't buy into the Big government system, we shouldn't buy into the enslavement of American's health.

Stay healthy, and then you won't have to deal with this bullshit.

This won't work

Staying healthy doesn't cover broken bones. 7 out of 7 people in my family have broken a bone. Two needed surgery. A vegan diet doesn't negate the activities of children.

Blue Republican

I understand your point about

I understand your point about broken bones, but health can cover that in some scenarios. When my cousin was in his early 20s he was in a pretty bad car accident. He was told that he probably should have died or at the very least been really broken up but his athletic condition helped to protect him from that fate. Due to his physical athletic health he only ended up battered & bruised instead of broken or dead.

...

Broken bones is a calcium and trace mineral deficiency

Copper is needed to create the bones collagen matrix.

Diabetes is a chromium, vanadium and Omega 3 deficiency.

Vegan doesn't provide all 60 minerals, they are missing from our soils.

Vets have cured these diseases 70 years ago. They do it on the cheap or the livestock becomes dinner.

GMO

GMO corn, GMO soy, GMO etc. HFCS, ASPARTAME, Fluoride, etc. - NON-LABLED!!!!
How do you KNOW you are eating health?
Like I said - The Government wants to KILL YOU!

Personally I seldom eat any corn products (only when at a friends and then only a small amount) If I find something I eat has aspartame I quit eating it!

Welcome to my world. People

Welcome to my world. People don't want to believe that they want us sick and dead.

Funny you mention that.

I grow corn in my garden and I like to pick some while they are small and tender to eat. I don't know where my wife got the seeds we planted this year. But when I pulled one and ate it yesterday it tasted funny like it had artificial sweetener in it. I am very intolerant of these new sweeteners and can taste them even if there is just a little in a beverage or something. That taste stayed with me for a while. Now I am wondering if I should eat any more at all. Is there any non hybrid or non gmo corn left any more?

Go grain free for maximum health,

I did and am glad.

Free includes debt-free!

Welcome to my world....

Every year the feds have been sinking their talons deeper into the heart of medicine. I laugh at the people who have become so outraged at Obamacare. That is only the last in a decades' long process that had already completely undermined the autonomy of patients and physicians.

It seems that you were proud of your independence from traditional medicine. But while you were trying to have as little to do with traditional medicine as possible, the few remaining doctors who had any degree of independence were forced out of private practice. Too many people didn't care. They were either too busy with other things or thought all doctors were just overpaid flunkies for big Pharma.

Now the cancer of government is so intertwined with health care it will take drastic and very painful surgery to even reverse the trend.

sorry..

you lost me at Gynecology..

This is happening at my employer!

Last enrollment period we were told we now must find a PCP and get a referral before seeing anyone other than our PCP. We were told they will need to do this for our benefit to so that everyone we see knows exactly what medicine we have taken recently and what procedurees we've had to better taek care of us. They said they are also going to pull all of our medical history to create a profile on us. I have heard from several coworkers that this same situation you described is happening to them. Some think it's a great idea, but a few including myself are very skeptical and disturbed by this.

Population Reduction

Listening to Jim Marrs a few days ago and he said:

In the United States
#1 leading cause of death - Heart Attacks
#2 leading cause of death - stroke
#3 leading cause of death - Medical Treatment!

a friend of mine was in the hospital recently and they gave her iodine dye, even though she told them (and it was on her charts) that she is allergic to iodine! Resulted in kidney shut down so they had to put her on dialysis to remove the iodine, then they billed her for THEIR MISTAKE! Since she is on medicare they had to send the bill to medicare, and she let medicare know what happened.
So it looks like the hospital can KILL you and your family will have to pay the hospital for killing you!

Great system, ain't it?
