Don't Give Up on Ron Paul or His Ideas
Submitted by BurningsiriusΩ™ on Fri, 07/06/2012 - 09:09Hey guys, these are some very strange times. Many of us since Randongeddon have felt dejected. I know I have for some time. Not about Rand per-say, but about the general drifting of the MSM guys toward disparaging us. This is a coordinated attack no doubt. I know that I am not welcomed at Jack Hunter's and Austin Petersen's table for Rand 2016. I will probably vote for Rand, but as far as being a part of his campaign... there is no chance in Hell they will let us get 10 yards near him.
We Misesians and Rothbardians are without a political home. My friend (who is a LP official) was telling me about the scorn Austrians get in the LP. Ron tried to co-opt the GOP, but I feel that the feedback is just to great. As the Ron Paul mainstreamers integrate back into the GOP, I feel a sense of sadness. I have hopes that this Audit the Fed bill will get passed. One can only hope, but if it does not, was this all for not? Are the guys who are going to integrate back in just going to cow tow to Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh? I for one can never go back. Not after how they treated Ron Paul and us! We got the ideas out there right? I did not have delusions of grandure of winning, but I never suspected the viciousness certain elements would have against each other in the post-mortem.
We might have certain GOPs, but if Romney can just create shadow organizations, what use are they?
I would of made a video, but I am tearing up.

Jack declares Justin Amash, along with (T)Reason, the next 'Ron Paul'. Yet, no mention of the Federal Reserve in this article. No mention of the gold standard. Just useless fluff about the hot button issues of our day that will eventually be ingrained as normal in society. I am very cynical about this. Everyone will carp about the TSA, but no one will do anything about it. Soon, no one will carp about it. Hurray Mainstream Liberty Movement, you knew what was good for us! *The More You Know* *Rainbow*
There is a large part of me that just wants to rebel. I want to rebel against the Ron Paul Inc establishment! I am not a rebel warrior type, but dang it I donated my money to this campaign, I do not deserve to be treated like a 2nd class liberty warrior. I feel like we were just expendable political fodder to elevate certain careers. I donated time to sign wave only to be harassed by police and put in a more dangerous place to sign wave. I argued on the internet. I defended some of the guys who are now yelling about how conspiracies don't exist. I did everything. For what? Will they speak at the Mises Institute, or is that to politically toxic to do? Is it a conspiracy theory to say FDR stole the people's gold? None of them will associate with Lew Rockwell or his gang. They MIGHT associate with Tom Woods, but on a shallow pandering level because Tom Woods is intelligent, articulate and charismatic. They will not let Tom talk about his radical anarchism. I guess we were a political cocoon for these guys. Now with the re-branding in full swing, I just... dunno.
I want to jump on the bandwagon. I want to feel like: "Hey the establishment is listening to us hurray", but my gut says something else. The re-branding replaces the Fed with the internet freedom mission.

Even Lew is perplexed. I am too. Why not both?
I am just anonymous liberty warrior 0354. I do not want to be a named character. I am in the trenches fighting the info war. A war that we are losing severely (my fellow workers are so ignorant of what is going on). Though the establishment will have a Pyrrhic Victory in the end, I am afraid until then, we must fight on. The post is called Don't Give Up on Ron Paul's Ideas, and all that I have done is been depressing.
It is darkest before dawn. Never give up. Never give up on yourself. Never give up on your ideals. Never give up on your morality. See this through to the end, to Tampa and beyond. There may never be a political solution for Liberty. It may end up just everyone quiting the state all at the same time because of the BS. Once everyone stops playing make-believe with the state, we can then address society's problems. In the end, we are cast out back into the political wilderness from which our political forebearers came. This is not the optimum end for an eight year political campaign, but as the seasons change, so must we change to adapt to the changing political climate.
Thanks for reading this. I was a bit long winded. I have had a lot on my mind as of late.
Peace

my two cents
Just the two cents of an infrequent poster: This liberty thing will be a long term project; I suspect it will take me the rest of my life as I on the other side of the hill already. Maybe it is a matter hanging on to, pondering, critiquing and than acting on what RP has demonstrated to us by his words and actions. Rand, and others and even Ron will do what they will do; none of us are perfect. We will disagree on many things, on what is most important. If one in ten of us develop Ron's spine to act in the face of derision just think where we will be. Then we won't be clinging to any idol and will prove the TPTB that we are not going away and can't all be bought out.

Thank you, Liberty warrior 0354
My sentiments entirely. Being the cynic that I am (most of the time)I have not posted here since 'Randongeddon' (I like that). Just can't find the words. So I am not ready to join the Dick Armey 'tea party'; I feel I have been vanquished to the wilderness.. Ok, on to plan 'B'.
Stolen from a previous poster was an RP quote I wrote down: "The law cannot make a wicked person virtuous..God's grace alone can accomplish such a thing". So, I am taking the good that I have learned and I have to think RP's lessons will carry on and ring true for a new generation. As for me, I'm heading to the bunker for the foreseeable future.
Thanks again for the post.

"I just want to live in a free country" - Dr. Ron Paul
Please attend your central committee meetings
Please make these meetings YOUR home, where if you can not get a seat, become a guest and speak up.
Trust me, Trust Ron Paul, we can take this party.
STAND WITH RAND 2016
Granger is right, it's what
Granger is right, it's what we do on a local level that is most powerful. Bottom up power, not top down. It is the only path I see to redirect government.
Bottom line is...WE have to do it, not look to someone else. Just imagine the impact if all DPers did what The Granger just suggested?
Expanding this concept: It's really not that hard to infiltrate on the local level. Not just the central committee, but attend your city council meetings, get on your local school boards, become influential in your churchs (remember they too are beholden to the State if they are a designated non-profit church). This is where we can do the most good.
Think about it...then ACT!

TY Libertybelle
TY for the wonderful compliment, and please know, how much I appreciate and respect your work and effort to make OUR rEVOLution bare good fruit!
I'm so happy to see us ACTivists become establishment and ACTually made OUR Ron Paul message come alive!
STAND WITH RAND 2016
Hey, You're Welcome!
I like to give accolades to those who do the work of this rEVOLution. Because at this point it is a lot of work to dig us out of this hole. But, if we all take our turn with the shovel, it is less of a burden to those currently sweating it out, and much more powerful!
WE may not always agree, you and I, but we do have the same goals...Freedom and Liberty.
Ron Paul has cured our apathy and given us the inspiration to put the ACT in activism. I believe that is one of his top, if not his greatest, contributions.
Forever in Freedom,
The Libertybelle

Well said
I don't know about you, but when I was new to Ron Paul, a few months before I found Daily Paul, I didn't agree with Ron Paul on all the issues. It took a learning curve, reading his books, debating openly and honestly, admitting I was wrong when I clearly was wrong or didn't grasp the whole concept. I've come a long way. Maybe you too?
So I really don't expect people new to Ron Paul to catch on quickly and passionately for everything Ron Paul says. I don't know what I don't agree with Ron Paul on the issues anymore, though it still takes me a lot of time to study and think and wrap my mind around why, and how, he does things or doesn't do things.
I think the most important thing is, I trust him. I really don't believe he is misleading me. I KNOW I am no Ron Paul. But I also know I couldn't have a better political mentor.
When I met him he said, "Thank you for inviting me to YOUR rEVOLution." It struck me. And then when I joined my central committee, when they finally offered me an appointment, I said, "Thank you for inviting me into your party."
Thank you for standing with me! It's good to know, while I may feel alone, I am not.

The article is not by Jack Hunter.
Jack says it is taken from the Illinois Telegraph but it is datelined Las Vegas and there is no byline.
The End the Fed remark from Lew is misinformed. Before there can be anything done with the Fed there has to be an audit. This is what Congressman Louis Mcfadden was demanding in 1932 and it is only now that it is even close to being accomplished, thanks to Ron Paul.
The gold standard is not an aim of Ron Paul's to my knowledge. He favours competing currencies and would remove tax restrictions from trading gold and silver returning them to their Constitutional role as money. He will also remove legal tender protection from FRNs.
This would have the effect of destroying the Fed with market forces rather than legislation. He could also refuse to renew the Federal Reserve Act in 2013.
If your idol of the heart is being destroyed you will be naturally distraught. That is what is happening to you it seems to me. If you recognise that then it is a good thing. Getting rid of heart idols is an indispensable step in the cleansing process. They only hold you back from seeing clearly. Welcome the work being done in your mind and heart. It is making you a wiser person.
"The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:35-36)
No idols here
Just Christ alone bub. The only hope I have is in the resurrection.
May the LORD bless you and keep you
May the LORD make His face shed light upon you and be gracious unto you
May the LORD lift up His face unto you and give you peace

All or nothing?
I am not sure I understand how a belief in Mises and Austrian economics is incompatible with a preference for limited government. In other words, are all modern-day Austrians necessarily anarchists? Certainly, in order to get from Keynes to Hayek, there will be a serious revolutionary fervor required. But that gets us to limited government - as opposed to a no-government utopia.
By shaving off the adolescent edge of the liberty movement, we give ourselves more credibility as change agents not less.
Get involved. Take over your local government. Be the change you want to see in the world. But do it as a concerned citizen of the United States, not as an anti-establishment rabble-rouser looking for a dragon to slay.
I share many of your
I share many of your emotions. It's frustrating to put so much time, energy and money into an effort only to come up short. Especially when you realize the serious consequences of losing - that we're going to be stuck with, at best, four more years of destructive fedgov policies.
Strangely enough though, (strange because I tend to be a glass is half empty perma- pessimist), I'm feeling generally hopeful about where we are. I see this as a process, an educational process. We just have to keep bringing along others to the concepts that we have all come to see as solutions. This fall provides a great opportunity to keep building our numbers. Many folks only start paying attention a few weeks before the election. We should be ready to point out the serious flaws in both major party candidates - use the opportunity to gently educate those around you.
This movement has come a long way in the past several years. We haven't reached the critical mass it will take to really bring change, but for the first time in a very long time, I have hope that this critical mass CAN eventually be achieved. I share Ron Paul's surprise, and joy, at seeing so many young people gravitating to the liberty message.
Your headline is right on. Don't give up. Keep plowing.
"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny." - Thomas Jefferson
I see your point
and that is the honest to God silver lining. However, it will be that much harder to get people on board as Ron Paul Inc distances themselves from us. We are fighting multiple battles on multiple fronts. Maybe, I am letting the stress of the world get to me idk. I know that as soon as they get rejected and come crying back to us, I will accept them as Prodigal Sons and Daughters. I do not hate them for this decision. I just know what will happen.
May the LORD bless you and keep you
