'Audit the Fed' moves to house floor

Last week supporters of Federal Reserve transparency had a major victory when the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform passed my Audit the Fed bill, HR 459 unanimously with all major audit provisions intact. This clears the way for a House floor vote expected sometime in late July, and with a whopping 263 cosponsors, the chances of it passing have never looked better!

This is an unprecedented opportunity for transparency into how the currency of the United States is handled, and mishandled by the Federal Reserve.

The Federal Reserve is an enormously destructive and unaccountable force in both the U.S. economy and the greater global economy. Federal Reserve policies affect average Americans far more than fiscal, spending, and tax policies legislated by Congress.

We need to focus on the Senators.

It looks like we have the house, we need to start calling our senators right now. The following link will allow you to get in touch with your senators. http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_c...

i have an eerie feeling

about this,Ron Paul hardly ever gets this much
support,i get the feeling they are just setting him
up for a fall
i hope and pray i am wrong about this,it isn't like
they have wanted to do right, how long has it been
since they all got behind him on a bill
their track record for following the constitution
and voting this way, gives me pause

If we deny truth before your very eyes, then the rest of what we have to say,is of little consequence

People aren't so malicious.

It is the system that binds those people that is malicious. And for much of Ron Paul's time, people have been so enslaved by the system that they were asleep, laughing and ridiculing him for not conforming to their views.

Now the circumstances are different, and people have woken up from their slumber and sheep-like ways. They now realise that there is a relationship between the current financial crisis and the Fed, and that there may very well be flaws in the system that has long governed their lives.

Have a bit more faith in the goodness of people! Remember, politicians, even though are involved with the system, are also PEOPLE affected BY that same system. I do not think that any one of them is an unfeeling machine.

I believe in the freedom to be what we choose to be.

I disagree

Dr. Paul has had this bill fail many times back in 2010. Today a lot more people have awoken to the Fed and what it does [has been doing]. People are starting to feel the pressure, The whole Economy is in a mess and things are not much better as they were "suppose" to be after QE1 and 2 which Ron Paul Predicted.

We'll just have to wait and see quite frankly. I want this to have more than 2/3rds so it can override Obama's Veto...That would be something.

What is Capitalism?

They should appoint Jim Grant to head up the audit.

He is an expert on these matters and will know where to look and what to look for. A few top notch forensic accountants with a sufficiently informed and sceptical view of the Fed would also help. Keep the establishment well away from it.
