Not only does Johnson run his campaign in serious debt, (THE TRADEMARK OF A LIBERAL)~ now he collects TAXPAYER funding to keep it afloat.

If it is from WILLING taxpayers
then why doesn't it affect your return? And why isn't there a box that says "NO"? What's to keep someone else from checking the box for you? If it doesn't affect your return then does that money just appear out of thin air?

This isnt about what sheep GIVE by way of tax refund, this is about who is ACCEPTING it and reasons why. The Johnson campaign is in serious debt and this funding does not bring it even.
That is a LOSING strategy and speaks volumes to how US financials will be run.

There is a box you check if you want money to go towards the presidential election campaign. If you don't you leave it blank.
Do a modicum of homework and you'd answer your own question.

Go look at your stinking return smart asss. You have no way to decline, you can only check yes or leave it blank!!!! And even if you do check YES the money isn't taken out of your return so YOU are not donating it!!!!! And what is to keep someone else from just checking it for you after you have sent it since there is now way to DECLINE????

Go look at a 1040 and you'll see you vote no by leaving it blank. That is how you decline. This isn't complicated (for most people anyway.)

not even attempting to address what I am talking about. You are not donating your money if you check that box. Why can't you understand that? The money doesn't come out of your return so you are not donating your money. And there is nothing to stop someone down the line from checking the box for you if you leave it blank and that is why they don't give you a "NO" option or take it directly from your return, so you have no way of knowing or disputing.

So now you're moving onto a different question and in effect asking, "Where does this money come from since it doesn't affect your return?"
I don't know exactly except to say it stands to reason it comes from funds which have previously been collected since it doesn't affect one's return. If you are that concerned drop a short note to your local IRS office and ask them about the $3. This will take you a whopping three minutes of your time and you'll have an answer.

The politicians get their hats filled in the form of lobbyist, PAC, and special interest money whether or not this box exists. That's worth complaining about. But enjoy being paranoid over whether or not someone at the IRS is secretly checking the "yes" box on your return so $3 can be put toward this fund. Maybe IRS agents are also using it to play tic-tac-toe with and/or make paper airplanes.
I'll say it again: if you care that much then write a letter and post it with their response here on the DP. I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site who would be interested in the reply and you'll get an answer from the source. If you're not willing to do this then quit whining.

I have dyslexia
I've been wearing glasses since I was 4. Makes my fruit, vegetable and ice carvings interesting, but I admit, my spelling has hurt me tremendously. I actually had to hire an editor in college. I'm hoping that by getting lasics eye surgery will help.
I understand that it can be unexcusable to accept poor, horridous, grammer and spelling. My Father wrote beautifully. He always had a red and blue pencil near him. At first he would buy me a learn to spell book for Christmas every year. No toys for me, BAD SPELLER. Then as I got out of grade school, he had enough of my poor spelling, and began beating me, telling me I was stupid, an idiot, even punched my face once, he was so angry and hateful of my spelling. He told me that stupid idiots like me should kill themselves and be removed off the planet. Think you can beat him on being a "Mean SOB"? He used to say that repeatedly, as he would beat me, "I'm a mean SOB!" Go for it.
People like you remind me of people like him. You go after my weakness and insult me rather than kindly seeking a common ground or solution. I don't know anyone who likes Romney. I am crying as I write this. Thank you for sharing that terrible personal story about your childhood. Maybe people would stop being so mean spirited if they just paused for two seconds before they spoke or wrote something cruel. You never know people's stories about what shaped them into being the human beings they are.

As a child, it was exceptionally hard. I ran away from home when I was 15, having saved my money from working, and then I got a job at McDonald's and found it didn't pay my part of the rent.
Now, as an adult, I find that the abuse has ironically helped me, in that I became a survivor, and then a thrivor; so mean people, they don't affect me, and I don't feel the need to attack them back, but rather, move on without any guilt.
I appreciate your kindness and sympathy for that little girl. I'm no longer that little girl, and am not ashamed of my faults, as none of us is perfect, and I'm not trying to fool folks into thinking I'm smarter or better than them.
Like most folks here, I've worked very hard in my life and it hasn't always added up to what I thought it might, but I have been blessed, and count my blessings, especially in meeting good people such as yourself, who actually have genuine compassion.
There are rainbows and silver linings in every storm.
