I love NH and the Free State
I love NH and the Free State Project. The FSP has been a great motivator for me and reminds me that all is not lost in the battle for Liberty. Between them and Dr. Paul I have been taking a more active roll in the liberty Movement. Hope to become a Delegate this September and after that perhaps run for a position in the NH Legislature.
I look forward to meeting you
I look forward to meeting you at the NH GOP Convention :) There will be a lot of us there :) Thankfully, we don't have to try to take over the GOP in NH. We were welcomed to the table with open arms by leadership. The last Republican governor of NH joined the FSP as a friend of the FSP. A former US Senator spoke at Liberty Forum. The Speaker of the House likes FSPers and put some of us in leadership positions. The NH Senate Majority Leader (a former US Congressman) also likes the FSP. Free Staters are in key leadership positions in the 3 most influential lobby groups in NH.

Sounds great
I have always loved the FSP and what they are trying to do. Luckily for me I have been here since I was three (mom moved here back in '76).
I hope things go well and I am elected on September 11th. I do hope to go to the Convention as a delegate on the 29th. From what I am told there is an excellent chance I will be the only one on the ballot.
NH's climate sucks
Between my asthma and psoriasis, living in NH would be a nightmare for me based on the weather alone. Too bad we didn't pick a state with a warmer climate. I guess I'm stuck in NY...
Consider the American Redoubt Region
Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Eastern Oregon, and Eastern Washington
These states are low population density and pretty strong on liberty-mindedness, self sufficiency, 2nd amendment rights, etc.
They can be chilly in winter in spots, so if you're looking for warm weather year round it's probably not the place for you. However many areas have good growing seasons, relatively mild winters, and 100 degree summer days are very rare!
We live in Northern Alabama now and let me tell you a couple weeks of straight 100-110 temps will cure you of wanting to live "where it's warm" real quick.
So, my wife and I are taking our anniversary trip to explore Idaho and maybe a little of Montana. We're going to spend a few days finding some small towns where we might like to buy some land and move to in the next couple of years. Given my line of work, the biggest challenge I face will be finding a comparable job in these areas. So we have decided to try to start some home based businesses to see if we can make it off that. Besides, if SHTF I doubt there will be many aerospace jobs anywhere and lots of people will be wishing they owned a farm.

Really, NY over NH based on
Really, NY over NH based on weather?
NY is a big state, but everything from Erie PA to Ray Brook has far harsher (more extreme) winter weather than NH.
Albany is more like the weather in NH; well buffered against that mess that pours in off the Great Lakes.
If you're accustomed to the milder weather on Long Island, the Seacoast area of NH is much like it, without much lasting snow thanks to the warming currents of the Atlantic.
Personally, I just tell people that the weather in NH is just like Texas: three months out of the year you dread going outside, and don't know how you'll pay your utilities. It's just December-February, instead of June-August.
Stuck in NY?
All the clean places in NY are just as cold or colder. Same forestation and wildlife. The only warmer places in NY are crime ridden cesspools.
But the main criteria for the selection of state was
1. Pick of the the states that have the most freedom right now.
2. Pick a state where a few thousands of us can make a major impact.
Palm trees and beach volleyball were clearly lower considerations. However there is nothing stopping similar projects from being started in more temperate zones. You are as stuck as you think you are.

A bit chilly
but the warm states seem to be the worst places to live as far as quality of life. My opinion anyway. California, Florida, and Texas would never make my list of places to live.
The climate in NH is not much
The climate in NH is not much different than NY. Its slightly colder, and I emphasize slightly. I've lived in NY too and found little difference from most areas of NY. The exception to that would be if you're living on Long Island which is warmer with less snow.

My wife and I are going to look into moving there!
I hear they aren't so discriminating
I hear they will take liberty lovers, liberty likers or the liberty-curious. They will take folks who pick liberty 9 times out of 10 if given a choice. I hear they will even take people who just don't like being tied up with ropes and beaten with sticks. Like I'm not even saying liberty-minded, I'm saying the total opposite, the enslavement-intolerant. And then the huge swaths of people for whom, if liberty were forced upon them they wouldn't complain about it that much.

My eternal thanks to the Free
My eternal thanks to the Free State Project for choosing my state. I love having them here. Many have taken positions in the State House and they work as a foil to those who would vote to take our freedoms. They are holding our state Govt accountable and I can't thank them enough.
Stay the course FSP! I appreciate all you do!
