If You Really Want to Help Nebraska
Submitted by Laura604 on Mon, 07/09/2012 - 01:46We have been hesitant to ask for help. Indeed, some forms of help are probably not helpful in our state. But, if you're interested in helping us, the Republican Liberty Caucus-Nebraska has been bearing the brunt of the costs associated with the Convention--hospitality suites, printing costs, etc. We're pretty well tapped out, and we've got another week to go before the convention, and the establishment folks will probably throw some new things at us that will require us to spend MORE money.

Best wishes. I'm a voting delegate to Tampa from Iowa. I want to help my neighbors to the west!
A few suggestions at the state convention: Make sure there's a slate with no extra RP people running that might dilute the vote. And, of course, make sure our supporters are encouraged to vote for every name on the slate and no one else. Every delegate and alternate candidate ought to have a well-done piece of literature that's distributed to every seat or at least handed out.
I wouldn't include any reference to RP. Instead, I'd emphasize the traditional conservative values that unite most Republicans, including most ex-Santorum, Gingrich, and Bachmann supporters. Look for the common ground. Don't emphasize "obscure" secondary issues like raw milk, hemp production, drone spying, etc. Stick to the basics. Life, liberty, morality, Constitution. Don't come off looking like a nut or someone who's full of anger or suspicion. Be courteous to others, even those supporting the establishment.
Try your best to elect a permanent chair who will be fair. Perhaps the Orr guy who was seeking the state party chair position before they cancelled the election (son of the ex-governor, right?).
Let the delegates know that you're in this for the long haul--a quest to return the GOP to its traditional roots in Taft, Goldwater, and (vintage, uncompromised) Reagan.

But I an embarrassed by the DP and the liberty movement. We cannot raise $5000 for probably the most important primary of the election? Shame on the people who can spare 20 bucks and turn thier backs on Nebraska patriots.

PLEASE
look into how to fight off using electronic voting machines to count delegate votes, use paper ballots, you need the convention to last a long time in order for the rest of the "shoppers" i mean "regular republican" delegates to leave!!!!! We can not leave the fate of this election on machines, we must use paper, find a parlimitarian now!!!!!!!
