Unfortunately the local police WOULD NOT come to your assistance if you were assaulted by a federal agent since they all tend to see themselves as being on the same said against the rest of us and if you attempted to resist a TSA agent I would be very surprised if the local police didn't show up and beat you or worse.

This is an interesting point.

I wonder how a self-defense argument would play out in court if someone had to use force to protect themselves / family from an unwanted TSA search in a public place.
