Brad Pitt's Mother 'BULLIED' into silence

Quaking after being attacked for opposing same-sex marriage

Jane Pitt, mother of actor Brad Pitt, has been scared into silence by the hate-filled, vulgar and even violent reaction to her public assertion that Barack Obama is “a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”

Pitt has even been the subject of death threats following her letter to the editor of Missouri’s Springfield News-Leader in which she asserted failure to vote for Republican presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney constituted a vote for Obama.

I spoke briefly with Pitt and asked about the media assault against her for her comments as a private citizen supporting Romney. With inflections in her voice that conveyed fear and despair, she quietly and politely said she was not interested in talking to anyone in the media about the incident.

When she was told WND supported her right to speak her mind and is appalled by the threats against her life, Pitt expressed gratitude to WND for being one of the few news agencies doing so. Even her thank you, however, was said in a subdued manner laden with heaviness of heart.

that false one-liner drives me crazy

Every lifelong GOP-voter tells me this when I say I'd rather vote for RP than vote for a lesser of two evils: "A vote for RP is a vote for Obama."

I wouldn't mind that statement if it were even remotely true. But it's not. All the earlier polls showed that if* RP were to run third party (for the record I don't believe he will, because I honestly think the man doesn't lie)... if* RP went third party, he would steal a significant number more votes from Obama than Romney.

But it makes sense. You've got a huge number of young people who drank the Obama koolaid in '08, and have become disillusioned with him by now after his lack of following through in so many of his promises. That crowd is totally interested in RP's message (mostly the peace aspect and economy aspect.) A large chunk would jump ship from Obama and vote RP. BUT, if RP doesn't go third party, they would never ever never never ever NEVER vote for Romney, because he is the standard GOP schmuck. So they would rather choose to vote for the lesser of two evils (in their mind): BO.

However, on the GOP side of things, there isn't nearly as big a crowd who, if RP doesn't go third party, would vote for Romney as a lesser of two evils. So Romney doesn't get as big a boost from RP not running third party. Sure he'd get a small boost, but Obama's boost would be HUGE compared to his.

When I explain these things to the GOP schmucks, they ALWAYS look the other way and change the subject. Well, wait, first they try their other completely false claim to spread fear: "it'll be just like Ross Perot, who helped Clinton beat Bush." What? Really? REALLY? After I just went through a factual poll-based line of reasoning on how amazingly ignorant and stupid your first argument was, YOU EXPECT YOUR EVEN DUMBER ARGUMENT WILL WORK??!? So after easily destroying the Ross Perot allegation, that's when they get squeamish, look the other way, and try to change the subject.

(Note that in all these discussions, I don't come off as arrogant/condescending as I do when preaching to the choir here on DP. I go into these trying to listen and understand others perspectives, in a very cordial manner. And politely point out facts/polls whenever I get attacked for supporting RP.)

Yay. Another persecution of

Yay. Another persecution of neocons in Hollywood story. "...she asserted failure to vote for Republican presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney constituted a vote for Obama." Seriously? That line is straight from the writers at Faux News. This story is as real as anything else from Hollywood. I wonder how much money she got for this role.

How can you call yourself

How can you call yourself 'Forever Liberty' then write something like that? No one should be threatened with violence for something they say. We don't like that the guvmint is doing it to us and we should ALWAYS defend the right of free speech.

This story is a false flag

This story is a false flag designed to brainwash people into supporting Romney. Try reading between the lines of "...she asserted failure to vote for Republican presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney constituted a vote for Obama."

She's voting for Mitt Romney because 'any Christian that doesn't vote or writes in a name' is casting a vote for Obama.

We as Ron Paul supporters know that a vote for Obama is a vote for Romney... right?

The slogan press on has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave.

Presume thiis

These arogant bankgangsters replace one sold out prostitute puppet usurper with another inelgible minion. In your face debt slaves, I can hear them say at the board meeting.

We shall see said the blind man.

We shall see said the blind man....

to the dog that couldn't hear :)

Republican presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney

Never in my life have I heard of PRESUMPTIVE candidates. Some ploy to pretend Ron Paul and what he stands for, Liberty, end of the vile Fed, sound money, Golden rule foreign policies. PRESUMPTIVE is BS. I would never ever ever give my consent to have Mitten the magic underwear wearing morman bank gangster puppet minion of the Rotchild crime family, promoter of middle east wars represent me.

Presume that.

Old gentleman's rule: leave family out of it.

Something you learn over time in politics: there's only the high road and the slippery slope. The slippery slope has no bottom. It just keeps going down and down and down.

There is nothing strange about having a bar of soap in your right pocket, it's just what's happening.

sure, but in this case, she jumped into the fray

it wasn't the other way around

If you don't like being "attacked" then why attack others?

She has a right to her opinion, but don't complain about being hated for spouting hate!

AND let's be honest...she WASN'T silenced!

She wrote a letter to the editor as a private citizen and people looked into it and discovered it was Brad Pitt's Mom.

That's it!

her opinion should have never made the news in the first place.

...we thought you understood that we understood this

"...failure to vote for Republican presumptive presidential candidate Mitt Romney constituted a vote for Obama."

so, what?

the gop shoulda picked a better candidate...they shoulda picked Ron Paul!

the gop sucks...don't blame me!

wait a minute!
its because they (dems/pubs) are all the same, isn't it?

wake up, America!

its 'cos I owe ya, my young friend...

9/11 Truth.

That is what they wanted.

As soon as they started doing that, she should've gotten even louder.

Isn't it something that if we DARE to speak out against homosexuality, abortion, and whatnot, that we are the 'bullies', but this stuff is somehow acceptable? Whatever happened to freedom of speech? Oh, I forgot... they only want it if you agree with them.

who's they?

and what are you basing any of this on?

seems like you are just spouting off right-wing talk-radio sound bites based on nothing but misperceptions and emotions

If you take my comment in context with what the OP posted, you'll see that 'they' refers to the people that bullied Brad Pitts mother into silence. No emotions or misconceptions here... that's what the mindset is with them, as it is loud and clear. She wasn't even 'mean' in what she said about Obama. Do you think it was OK for the liberal pro-death and pro-homosexual movements to bully her (when she didn't even use obscene language or threats), when they whine and complain about being bullied? Does that sound like they free speech for everyone, or just them?
