"Congressman Too Truthful" April 29, 2002

Excerpts from “Keep Your Eye on the Target”, by Congressman Ron Paul (2002):

"The other day, I made a huge "gaffe" on national TV: I told the truth about the crimes of the U.S. government....I was interviewed on C-SPAN's morning "Washington Journal,” and I used the opportunity, as I do all such media appearances, to point out how many of our liberties have been stolen by the federal government. We must take them back....The Constitution, after all, has a very limited role for Washington, D.C..

If we stuck to the Constitution as written, we would have: No federal meddling in our schools; no Federal Reserve; no U.S. membership in the UN; no gun control; and no foreign aid. We would have no welfare for big corporations, or the "poor"; no American troops in 100 foreign countries; no Nafta, Gatt, or "fast-track"; no arrogant federal judges usurping states rights; no attacks on private property; and no income tax.

We could get rid of most of the cabinet departments, most of the agencies, and most of the budget. The government would be small, frugal, and limited.

That system is called liberty. It's what the Founding Fathers gave us. Under liberty, we built the greatest, freest, most prosperous, most decent country on earth...."

Oh yeah,

This looks official. NOT

"Keep Your Eye on the Target" speech

Perhaps you are right, I can't track the actual source. Other sites have it in a non-email format. This one is interesting, because it also lets you link to almost everything RP has ever written. http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils%20in%20Government/Polic...

In searching further, I found his amazing C-Span-taped Nov. 29, 2001 speech to Congress about "The War on Terrorism", with the transcript of it entitled "Keep Your Eye on the Target" on an older RP site . His insight as to how the "war" was not necessary, how it would progress, and has since progressed, is beyond belief. Truly a historic speech that everyone needs to listen to.
