Addictions suck, but

Addictions suck, but ultimately, they are a CHOICE.

Did I see Something Different Here?

I saw no call for individual liberty and for getting the government out of the 'drug crime' business. Rather, I merely saw a Republican-collectivist calling for a new program of 'mandatory government treatment' for those arrested under those same drug laws.

Seems like a whole new expansion of government and a whole new bureaucracy.

I agree. I think though that

I agree. I think though that advocating our system would be a tough sell on the hard headed people of America, this is a step in the right direction.

"The economy's not a class you can master in college. To think otherwise is the pretense of knowledge."

Maybe, Maybe Not....

Regardless, I care not one whit about tempering or watering down the message of individual liberty and constitutionally-limited government.

Mealy-mouthing doesn't suit me and such minimization and 'parsing' has facilitated the Republic to its current dismal state, as I see it.

I simply call things as I see them. If someone is turned off by that, too bad.

I really don't see how anyone can fantasize that toning things down will cause some awakening. Things have been nothing BUT toned down, for decades.

Some unapologetic, blunt, direct and simple truth is long overdue.

This should send all the

Christian fundamentalist in the US screaming. Yes pro life just doesn't mean for abortions. It means for all life. Every life is precious and must be protected. That goes for the junkies in prison and the those poor little arabic kids you screamed to kill in Iraq and Afghanistan. How dare they call themselves pro life but support illegal wars and support israel who takes lives everyday. It sickening with the hyprocisy of the christian zealots in the US. Worrying about abortions while taking lives.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing." - Andrew Jackson

Then why

- did he veto decriminalization in his state recently?

I was seriously thinking the

I was seriously thinking the same thing...
