DailyPaul under attack

My fellow DailyPaulers:

I believe we're under attack and "divide and conquer" is the strategy.
I think I can date it to it happening when Dr. Paul issued his message to his supporters, in addition to Rand endorsing Romney. Some here looked at it as if he was admitting defeat and that he would not have the needed delegates. Those that saw it this way started threads stating they would now be voting for Johnson, or (shudder) Romney.

Others here saw the message as "it's not over and we've done A LOT better than we ever expected". At no time during his message, did Dr. Paul actually admit defeat, or state that he would drop out of the race. So Dr. Paul ran for president "not expecting to do as well as he's done"? It'd be wise to read between the lines here folks. I think a lot of people here, sadly AND PREMATURELY, threw in the towel on someone that has never given up on us. Dr. Paul has not thrown in the towel yet. Ask yourself why? This is politics, and in the game of politics, you can't show your entire hand. Not to mention that Romney keeps stumbling in this race (a little over 6 weeks to go) as more pressure to reveal his tax records continue, and believe it or not, even MSM is informing the masses of the way his campaign, along with the GOP, have handled these caucuses with their fraud and coercion. All we need now is for MSM to start bringing up the fact that he profited from aborted fetuses and that he was responsible for Obamacare through Romneycare. He was actually booed for 15 seconds by the NAACP today for stating that he would repeal Obamacare. Oh well.....

The other infighting that has developed here has been attributed to the Lawyers For Ron Paul lawsuit. Some here think it's a bad idea and think it will kill their chances at voting their conscience. That's ASSUMING and wholeheartedly having faith in that the GOP will play fair and stand by their own rules. HA! Let the record show. While others here want the fraud brought to light in hopes of restraining the GOP from changing their own rules (as it has done in the past & continues to do) at the convention and in the future. This also has the added benefit of possibly converting Romney delegates into Paul delegates, once they've seen the travesties that have occurred by their chosen candidate. Also, Ron Paul has gone on record in the past stating that he would like to see legal action pursued if sufficient evidence came to light. Likewise, even though it has been brought to his attention many times, he has NOT denounced this lawsuit. WHY?

So aside from differences of opinions here, now that we are a legitimate threat to the status quo, we also have a large influx of trolls - which are easy to spot.

I have ONE simple request; I call for us to stand united WITH Dr. Paul.

If you fall into the one of the groups of Romney/Johnson because you gave up and you truly believe he can no longer win and is unelectable - that is your prerogative and your decision will be respected. However, at least have the decency and honor to not give up on him and his race UNTIL AFTER (in your opinion) he withdraws from the race. It's only six weeks! Is that too much to ask? My two cents and peace to you all.

Perhaps you misunderstand why

Perhaps you misunderstand why some support Ron and why some are becoming former supporters.

I found Paul completely electrifying in 2007 and became a supporter then. When the campaign threw in the towel early in 2008, I was terribly disappointed but kept on. Now, I've been a Libertarian most of my voting life, so you must understand that if at any point it becomes evident that either Ron definitely won't get the nomination he loses supporters. For many, this has already happened. The camp's statement that there is no way they can win because they haven't got the numbers is pretty convincing. THEY ABOVE ALL OTHERS should know.

So face it, every candidate is always under attack. It is up to them to demonstrate they can rise above the attacks, because the attacks will not stop...ever.

If I may also add

If Ron Paul does not win the nomination, it is because the established GOP did not want him to win and the RP campaign could not figure out a way to out manuver them. It is as simple as that.

There are doubtless many

There are doubtless many behind the scenes decisions that are made and never explained to the public and even to GOP members. Part of it is likely strategic and part is probably unjustifiable paranoia.

under attack of our own paranoia

I have yet to see any evidence that there is an organized effort to bring about the demise of Ron Paul's presidential campaign via a mass infiltration of this website. It is always "they"...who are to blame, who are "they" now? Who runs their organization with such an iron fist and is so covert that not one of "their" operatives would dare break rank and leak this information to us? Obama's? Santorum's? Romney's? the DNC or the RNC? It is my experience that the "covert" types of organizations that we should really fear do their dirty work in broad daylight because they know they can get away with it.
It is my opinion that WE are our own worst enemy. We have a reputation for having a rowdy "fringe" element that is hard to control and is considered a public liability from our own campaign leaders. Although I feel that the element of Ron Paul supporters that act offensively in public are a minority, and every political party has them, this is the double edged sword that Paul's campaign failed to utilize to advantage.
Ron Paul publicly stated himself that he was no longer actively campaigning and he also said in a recent interview that Mitt Romney is the presumptive nominee. If certain people interpret the writing on the wall to mean that Romney will win the Republican nomination and they want to drum up support for Johnson, I do not consider that offensive, especially since "people in the know" here on the Daily Paul claim that Ron Paul's real agenda was not to win the presidency, but to change the national dialog and/or the Republican party. It seems as though we are shooting within our own tent out of hypersensitivity. A large percent of people on this site were wholeheartedly for Ron Paul as president, yet when people cannot see Paul's path to win the nomination they are demonized. If Paul's campaign has hidden cards that they dare not reveal for reasons of strategy...you cannot turn around and blame us poor simple mouth breathers for making decisions based on the information that we have. When the campaign wanted money I gave, when it came time to make phone calls I called, I traveled, I have helped delegates and and when Ron Paul posted a video inviting us to his Tampa rally I made plans to attend. What I will not do however, is to blame other liberty minded people on this website for undermining Paul's campaign because they discuss issues that imply that Paul may not win the Republican nomination. Why is it that those who believe that Jesse Benton has a yet to be revealed secret plan to win, are the most insecure about honest dialog?

Well said

I have said as much in many different ways here myself. Nicely done.

A true Ron Paul supporter

can never be under attack if they learn to do one thing. They control what is going on around themselves and let the victories along the way manifest unto themselves after certain goals are achieved. I will use Rand Paul's win for a great example, we got him in and now we let him do his job in Washington D.C. where we do not reside. We hold on too tight sometimes and choke our very selves. Stick and move people, stick and move, it really is that simple.

NEVER giving up on the Gray Champ!

a few things to consider, for those who may be sincere about 'converting' some of us toward GJ, and WHY many here don't see Gary as being a viable alternative, including myself: http://www.dailypaul.com/246614#comment-2642090

Predictions in due Time...

"Let it not be said that no one cared, that no one objected once it's realized that our liberties and wealth are in jeopardy." - Dr. Ronald Ernest Paul

it aint over

As if Ron Paul would quietly fade into obscurity. HA!!!! EXPECT BIG things. Stay focused, read between the lines and get your ass to TAMPA.

Yep. Get to Tampa and expect big things to happen.

I'm with you; I stand united with Dr. Paul...

ALL THE WAY to writing him in this November.

That is what I'm gonna do.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."

We Win NOW.

Believe this folks. We can and WILL win.

We must set aside our differences. We must unite the clans. We must gather the global community. We must spread the word. We must, in unison, simultaneously intend our desire of the DP community to manifest itself already.

Dr. Ron Paul for 2012! Restore America Now. Not 2016.

So be it.

for the lawsuit dig. Otherwise, I agree. I fully agree with the spirit of your thread. The attack is much more than divide and conquer, though. There is a psyop effort to undermine confidence in the the campaign, so that operation Pied Piper can commence. Operation Pied Piper will lure delegates into the court system with the promise of fairydust federal marshals who will make those big bad Republicans play fair with us.

That's cool, no worries

Just pointing out the 3 things that I've noticed have caused a rift here. Unfortunately, people have singled out that particular topic. Probably shouldn't have gave my opinion on it here.

Anyway, fact of the matter here is you, I, or anyone else here do not have a crystal ball, and do not know how this will play out. If I'm wrong, I'll gladly take powerball numbers. We can only guess at the outcomes and monday morning quarterback it afterwards. And while I realize what's at stake here, some here also do not realize what's at stake if no action takes place. A line has to be drawn in the sand. I'm know writing the Declaration of Independence was also a hard sell.

very civilized of you ecard. And thank you for responding and discussing, you are "walking your talk" for lack of a better expression.

I just re-read what I replied to you

and I really don't see where I'm coming off in a negative tone to you. I'm just being honest in expressing how I see things. I sincerely apologize to you since I apparently have offended you and would appreciate it if you could point out where in my reply (or was it the whole thing?) I acted as such.

BTW - I replied to you somewhere else and I hope you also didn't take offense at the CAPS I used. I find it a pain here having to continually go in to formatting options when I want to stress a word and I'm typing in a rush.

I wasn't

being sarcastic. It was a clumsy, but genuine, compliment. Sorry if it sounded sarcastic. It is really, truly, nice to converse with someone who posts thoughtful responses. I was thanking you for that. I was the opposite of offended, I was appreciative.

LOL - Well in that case, where's MY APOLPOGY?

Ditto on what you just typed. Glad you didn't take offense & thanks for the compliment.

The whiners

are feeling sorry for themselves, and someone must pay.

I just wish they wouldn't throw their pity party in this house.

got it on the mac Safari &

got it on the mac Safari & Firefox too.

Something is wrong with dailypaul site access

I got the message "Reported Attack Page!" on firefox browser the message seems to be coming from google. Internet Explorer didn't give me this error. I tried several times on Firefox, which is what I normally use.

I have that function shut off.

No trouble anymore. Mozilla has security mania too.

for the excellent post. I've been fighting these Trolls for some time now, and unfortunately there appear to even be some long-time DP'ers hell-bent on trying to tell me, and other's, that we're making a huge mistake by taking action against the fraud by being a part of the lawsuit.

Message to the sincere non-Trolls who are working to "educate" us on their opinion about the Lawsuit: Thanks for your concern, but I'll do what I feel is necessary - so you can stop trying to "educate" me about your opinion.

Suggestion to those same people: You might try using your time and energy on something that will actually ADVANCE the cause of LIBERTY.

Your welcome robot, glad you enjoyed it

I've read your replies and it's like trying to convert neo-cons - they just don't get it! Different matter of opinions is all. But many are getting hell bent out of shape over something that they have no control over, while they could be spending that time more productive. I just replied to two posters here;

One is a delegate in Texas and he opened my eyes about the corruption not being everywhere, and the lawsuit not necessarily being for everyone. I admit, I though this kind of thing was going on in EVERY state.

The other, which seems like a troll, keeps crying and whining about the very same things he/she does. UNBELIEVEABLE!

It's called 'flipping'. Very common in politics, sad to say.

"The other, which seems like a troll, keeps crying and whining about the very same things he/she does. UNBELIEVEABLE!"

=) well, I don't know what posts you were refering to so

will leave that opinion to you. heh... But I see it at our county meetings, pretty much every month.

This is the same question I want to ask, Do they really think

these posts and taking cracks at posters on the DP will get RP any closer to the nomination or further our cause?

Take these www.3StepsTowardFreedom.com to assist Ron Paul in becoming our next Commander In Chief. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-480OMya3U

It makes you wonder what their true agenda is

I have no problem with people disagreeing. But I think the time has come and gone that we have "agreed to disagree" and we should move forward. Yet certain posters keep beating a dead horse and it makes you wonder why.

I am certain

that productivity (or, at the very least, not being dead weight) is not high on their priority list.
