DailyPaul under attack

My fellow DailyPaulers:

I believe we're under attack and "divide and conquer" is the strategy.
I think I can date it to it happening when Dr. Paul issued his message to his supporters, in addition to Rand endorsing Romney. Some here looked at it as if he was admitting defeat and that he would not have the needed delegates. Those that saw it this way started threads stating they would now be voting for Johnson, or (shudder) Romney.

Others here saw the message as "it's not over and we've done A LOT better than we ever expected". At no time during his message, did Dr. Paul actually admit defeat, or state that he would drop out of the race. So Dr. Paul ran for president "not expecting to do as well as he's done"? It'd be wise to read between the lines here folks. I think a lot of people here, sadly AND PREMATURELY, threw in the towel on someone that has never given up on us. Dr. Paul has not thrown in the towel yet. Ask yourself why? This is politics, and in the game of politics, you can't show your entire hand. Not to mention that Romney keeps stumbling in this race (a little over 6 weeks to go) as more pressure to reveal his tax records continue, and believe it or not, even MSM is informing the masses of the way his campaign, along with the GOP, have handled these caucuses with their fraud and coercion. All we need now is for MSM to start bringing up the fact that he profited from aborted fetuses and that he was responsible for Obamacare through Romneycare. He was actually booed for 15 seconds by the NAACP today for stating that he would repeal Obamacare. Oh well.....

The other infighting that has developed here has been attributed to the Lawyers For Ron Paul lawsuit. Some here think it's a bad idea and think it will kill their chances at voting their conscience. That's ASSUMING and wholeheartedly having faith in that the GOP will play fair and stand by their own rules. HA! Let the record show. While others here want the fraud brought to light in hopes of restraining the GOP from changing their own rules (as it has done in the past & continues to do) at the convention and in the future. This also has the added benefit of possibly converting Romney delegates into Paul delegates, once they've seen the travesties that have occurred by their chosen candidate. Also, Ron Paul has gone on record in the past stating that he would like to see legal action pursued if sufficient evidence came to light. Likewise, even though it has been brought to his attention many times, he has NOT denounced this lawsuit. WHY?

So aside from differences of opinions here, now that we are a legitimate threat to the status quo, we also have a large influx of trolls - which are easy to spot.

I have ONE simple request; I call for us to stand united WITH Dr. Paul.

If you fall into the one of the groups of Romney/Johnson because you gave up and you truly believe he can no longer win and is unelectable - that is your prerogative and your decision will be respected. However, at least have the decency and honor to not give up on him and his race UNTIL AFTER (in your opinion) he withdraws from the race. It's only six weeks! Is that too much to ask? My two cents and peace to you all.

despite all of the well stated concerns you addressed, there is also the issue of just putting way too many eggs in one basket. In addition to their attempt to deal with the binding/non binding issue, they are also trying to combine every single allegation of fraud, vote suppression, physical harm and intimidation, etc. etc., etc. into one big cause of action, (which is extremely ill-advised), and if it fails it will knock out all of these claims with one fell swoop, (with no recourse for each individual involved because by filing this suit, the plaintiffs were barred from any future litigation concerning these specific issues).

It would be far better for each of the individuals harmed to do just as you say and file individual suits(with a competent attorney) within each of their appropriate jurisdictions dealing with their specific issues.

People that make the claim that those of us who are against this SPECIFIC lawsuit just don't want to see justice served is patently incorrect. I want to see justice served very much so, I am just convinced that this lawsuit is going to fail, and most likely was designed with that purpose in mind.

People need to understand that each State is different...and there are those who are far more aware of how to accomplish what Ron Paul has asked...inside, legal, forming relations and spreading the message...inside the local and State organizations while something can still be done.

DEFINITELY no Mitt even if he wins the nomination.

And YES on the lawsuits... I've been in the GOP for 40 years and I have always called them out when wrong. And they were SO wrong they chance causing extinction of their party if they don't denounce what has been going on. People are leaving the party in droves.

Most people don't even know about the corruption, illegalities, and nefariousness going on by Romnobots. It has changed my opinion of Romney which was that he was at least a decent man.

We can't change the system if we keep rewarding bad behavior. And we should start with our own side...

To be honest...

I've come to the conclusion recently that the entire 'democratic process' is a ruse perpetrated by the slave masters(plutocrats, oligarchs, 'powers that be', or whatever you'd like to call them) onto the slaves(the citizens) through propaganda and public re-education camps commonly referred to as 'schools' to fool us into believing that we are 'free' and have choice through 'the political process'. As Stefan Molyneux would put it "the most productive slaves in history are the ones that believe they're free." Instead of slaves building pyramids, or slaves laboring in the fields, we are slaves to debt. We are slaves who have fabricated their own shackles, easily mesmerized by shiny things and psychologically masturbatory preoccupations. Beyond this year, I refuse to participate in the lie. I refuse to give validity to an ominous and corrupt system- at the very least on a national level. Having said that...

I follow through with my commitments. I've been committed to supporting RP2012. It's my hope and aspiration that by September 1st the world will have witnessed a Harding-esque revolution in presidential politics when Ron Paul takes center stage as the Republican nominee.

That is not to say, that if this does not occur, that I won't consider other options. There is no way in hell Mittens or Obiwannajackoff will get my vote (vote: a traditional symbolic jesture that means absolutely nothing). As in 2008 when I voted for Nader, I will likely cast a protest vote. As it stands that vote will be for Johnson. As with Nader, I don't particularly want Johnson to be president(though leagues better than Tweedle dee, and Tweedle dum) nor do I expect him to be. If Johnson and the Libertarian party were to garner 10-15% of the vote that would be more noteworthy and have more impact than a Ron Paul ballot write-in that will not get counted, noticed or mentioned. And that will be my swan song, my last willing performance in the theater production of "Democracy in the USA."

As for this paranoid "we're under attack" and 'the movement is being divided' drivel- of that I say this- bullshit. Open discussion and hearty debate is what I'm seeing. Topics of all ranges are discussed. Openness and frankness. People speaking their mind. All of this I view as positive. This is how we grow as individuals and as a movement with one singular goal-liberty. Right now the movement is in the process of defining and rediscovering what that actually means. I welcome all viewpoints, and enjoy the new direction in which DailyPaul discussions have taken- from the enamoring of one man to complex philosophical points of view. The waving light from the beacon on the hill, LIBERTY, is all we have to keep in view. Then by living by that which we wax stronger in, like respect for the freedom of thought and perspective, we will find our way. Let's have a little faith in each other, and humanity, and cast aside the fear and paranoia. Let's be like Voltron. Let's be individual, yet when needed unify in strength against the statists and other adversaries of liberty. Sorry, had to throw in a little 80's pop culture to lighten the mood.

that this whole process is a ruse into having us believe that we are "given" a choice. I also will not be voting for either Romney or Obama. As I have stated before, they have not earned it, and Romney along with the GOP and their dirty tactics, threw it away.

No fear & paranoia here - just look around. I say we're under attack because I don't see much, I see SOME, but not much in the way of "hearty debate". What I do see a lot more of RECENTLY (which is why I opted for the title) is mockery, name calling, and blatant disrespect here as opposed to a couple of months ago. Maybe we're reading different posts? I don't know. What I do know is that the disrespect seems to have grown considerably and this is NOT the norm for Paul supporters. I would expect this behavior more from the likes of the uneducated/asleep (Romney/Obama supporters), and the trolls/spies.

Yeah you got it bro or sis. You got my commitment. Thing is I'm a jerk in normal circumstances so it's gonna be hard to tell. But all together through Tampa.

I primarily notice the attack from true trolls not just nonconformists like me. Yeah, try being a nonconformist in a movement full of them. It's hard to stand out. But the actual trolls are out there concern trolling, pandering doubt and defeatism, distracting us with sidelines or issues intended to discredit us in the public eye (more 9/11 anyone?), actual division attacks (the "liberty fest" vs. Paul Festival fiasco, that cost us a LOT of enthusiasm, kudos to that wrecking crew) to name a few.

The faithful will gather just as we did R3VOLUTION! March and Rally For The Republic. Those that can afford to at any rate. The rest of us will observe as we live stream and the MSM does it's little boogie and who knows?


So yeah, I'm still on board. Ready to serve.

Troll gets used too loosely around here

You are right, people are too quick to call troll around here when someone posts something disagreeable. Then they say it is easy to spot trolls, while the whole time, the real trolls go right over, or into, their heads.


You don't say this when someone posts a legitimate concern or criticism of the lawsuit, but are called trolls by the lawsuit PR firm that operates under multiple sock puppets and dup accounts here on DP.

First ...

Paul did denounce the lawsuit.

He said he does not support it in an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN.

Second ... the Lawyers are spamming this site. For the past 2 weeks 8 out of every 20 threads are dedicated to the subject. If that doesn't scream "trolling for delegate names", I don't know what does.

Third ... This site has always been like this. It calms down a bit during the two campaigns (2008 & 2012), but it has always been this way.

Fourth ... The Rand endorsement sent some people over the edge and that is what caused the recent split, along with Mr. Nystrom openly questioning the future of the site. The whackjobs that want to burn the campaign staff at the stake and label Rand a neo con are trying to take over the influence on the site. The lawyers are part of that group. The A.J. freaks are as well. The Libertarians behind Gary Johnson are too. And these Liberty Chat folks are also trolling along those lines.

I get it. And I don't really mind the back and fourth. The issue that I have is the level of blatant dishonesty and cloaking of their true motives that this crowd seems to think they must do in order to have influence.

That is the sucky part and it makes people paranoid. (for good cause)

ausscyn, ad NV, feupwiththefed, 3steps, are not lawyers and they have stated at one point or another that they were in favor of doing something and hope that the lawsuit would work. I know they are NOT "trolls". Here is what someone posted below with regard to Dr. Paul supporting the lawsuit. I agree with most of what Dr. Paul has said and stood for, I also know I disagree with his desicion to not attend in Nebraska, but hoping and praying he will change his minds, eventhough that are important votes in DC.

Why did you repeat a twisted quote?

In bold, no less.

As I indicated below, adding "[ask for my advice]" turned an otherwise rational reply into a ridiculous, even snide remark. There is no way that Dr. Paul intended to say, "If they ask my advice, I'm going to say don't ask for my advice".

Dr. Paul has a very good command of the English language, even if his unscripted speeches sometimes lack the polish of a gifted orator. To substitute "ask for my advice" for "do it" not only took his reply out of context but was disingenuous and does disservice to Dr. Paul.

Which confirms my assertion that this is a ploy to "categorize" anyone who:
1. although dubious of the lawsuit's merits, and
2. have expressed that, while wishing it well,have been so castigated.

Getting back to the "subject" of the OP:
Yes! We stand behind Ron Paul...we just don't need a "thought police"
downvoting and spamming threads here nefariously.

Each in his own way....each point of view is relevant, and should be considered..not labeled "troll" or Romney-bot.
