Drones Above? Army, civilian drones may fly in U.S. airspace sooner w/ help from Redstone Arsenal team

So, I looked at the front page of my local paper, the Huntsville Times, the other day, and I saw this headline: DRONES ABOVE? Huntsville could be test city for unmanned aircraft

A team on Redstone Arsenal has taken a big step toward making it possible to fly an Army Unmanned Aircraft System in U.S. civilian airspace, allowing for badly needed training room as the technology evolves, use increases and more of the drones return with troops from duty overseas.

You can read the article at AL.com: Huntsville could be test city for unmanned aircraft

Of course, the article has a positive spin, to make this seem like a good thing... This is NOT a good thing.....They even go as far as to say that law enforcement in huntsville could be using the drones in the near future. Do we really need HPD using unmanned aircraft to watch our every move? And that's just one way they say the drones could be used here.

Every local & Alabama DailyPaul member needs to contact Huntsville's Mayor Tommy Battle (he's pushing for the drones) and let him know that the citizens of this city are NOT okay with drones flying in Huntsville. It might even be appropriate for ALL members to contact him since this actually effects the entire country.
