a claim that they provide "technology-based solutions and agricultural products that improve farm productivity and food quality."
When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.
~ John Muir
Monsanto does improve farm productivity: their GMO "products" don't get eaten by insects, fungi, rodents or other natural pests, so productivity DOES go up. The downside, of course, is that natural pests avoid GMOs because they're toxic.
Food "quality" also can be said to improve, because it doesn't have as many worms or insects in it -- again, because the stuff is dangerous to all living things. Except humans, of course. They say.

Here's the problem I have with what "they" say;
Agricultural hybridization certainly isn't new technology. What Monsanto's doing is cross-kingdom gene-splicing, creating a new organism from plant and bacteria. This has never been done before.
This clip is based off of a research paper done in China. It definitely proves that GMO's can make your cell mitochondria forget its purpose, leaving it vulnerable to any free radicals floating around in your system and causing all sorts of nasty stuff like cancer and tumors. Perhaps not surprisingly there aren't many studies of this nature being conducted in the Western Hemisphere.
As Mike states in the clip, Monsanto claims that no further testing is necessary, but the American Medical Association disagrees. It doesn't help that the FDA is a Monsanto subsidiary and is actually trying to get more legisilation passed that would prevent products from being labelled organic since most people have an issue with being poisoned and will pay more for safe food.
Just a wild guess on my part. They lie?
Monsanto bonds. Profit from poisoning the world food supply. Almost as good an investment as long term Treasuries.
Invest in your own destruction, great idea.
Unbelievable, isn't it?
