Reason: Gary Johnson Supporters Plan Protest at CNN Headquarters in Atlanta

Frustrated that Libertarian Party Presidential candidate Gary Johnson isn't getting more coverage from CNN, Johnson's supporters are planning to protest outside the network's headquarters next week.

An email from Chris Hill, who volunteers for the Johnson campaign in Florida, says that "supporters of Gov. Johnson—and folks who just believe in fairness—are gathering at CNN Headquarters in Atlanta to let the network know that voters deserve the chance to learn that there is another choice in November besides President Obama and Gov. Romney."

The protest will be held on July 15 and 16.

More from that email:

This isn’t just about Gov. Johnson. And it isn’t just about CNN. If the major media organizations across the country don’t even include Governor Johnson in their polls, much less their coverage, millions of Americans who are ready for a third choice in 2012 will be robbed of their opportunity to be heard.

I apologize for the delay, my day job is on the weekends, and is generally very long hours. This is my first "day off" since the day I spent at Freedom Fest.

Transcription of Judge Napolitano's comments

We did get a short segment of video posted, but it was apparently posted to private so I cannot share it, until I get the original poster to either post it publicly or to remove the privacy restrictions. I have taken the liberty of transcribing the comments, and should have the video footage available soon. Thank you for your patience. Judge Napolitano was asked if he will ever run for president. His response was: "Maybe, who knows? After this campaign, or the next one, he might be in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, former New Mexico Governor, whose sandal straps I'm unworthy to fasten, who speaks here tomorrow at 10:30. Governor Gary Johnson. (Gary stands, applause.) That's what we should be doing, Challenging the establishment, reminding them . . ."

Well, CNN (maddow) has been kind to RP fans lately

But I have to stand behind this effort despite not hating CNN so much lately.

My local LP meetup is protesting in solidarity with Gov Johnson

My local LP meetup is protesting in solidarity with Gov Johnson on Sunday at the local CNN news affiliate in Denver. Will post an update on Sunday.

Thank you for Helping Gary Johnson in Colorado!

We really appreciate it your efforts there in Denver. I just read where Gary Johnson endorsed Colorado Amendment 64: The Campaign to Regulate Marijuana like Alcohol. Here is the endorsement. I read it on http://www.independentpoliticalreport.com/2012/07/johnson-ca...

Amendment 64 makes the personal use, possession, and limited home-growing of marijuana legal for adults 21 years of age and older; establishes a system in which marijuana is regulated and taxed similarly to alcohol; and allows for the cultivation, processing, and sale of industrial hemp. In particular, Amendment 64 removes all legal penalties for personal possession of up to one ounce of marijuana and for the home-growing of up to six marijuana plants, similar to the number allowed under current medical marijuana laws, in an enclosed locked space. The initiative creates legal marijuana establishments – retail stores, cultivation facilities, product manufacturing facilities, and testing facilities – and directs the Department of Revenue to regulate a system of cultivation, production (including infused products), and distribution. Under the provisions of the measure, the Department will license marijuana establishments at the state level, and should it fail to act, localities will be permitted to issue such licenses. Localities will have the right to ban marijuana establishments through either their elected representative bodies, or through referred or citizen-initiated ballot measures.

Governor Johnson says, “Coloradans have a chance to end marijuana prohibition for the entire country. There has to be a first and Colorado has that opportunity. The more people who talk about this, the more people understand it, the better the chance it has to end this prohibition.”

Excuse me, how is that a link for the

endorsement? Your link lead me directly to this comment:

I heard that Judge Andrew Napolitano endorsed Gary Johnson at Freedom Fest. Can anyone verify this? Thanks.

I went to the top and started reading. I'm not reading all that crap for nothing. Unless you'd like to point out exactly what part of this makes it a "link of the endorsement"..There doesn't appear to be an endorsement. If there is one, that'll be great and all, but I'll find my own links. You don't seem to have a clue.

Here is What I Read on the Libertarian Party of Florida Facebook

"Lynn House
Back to campaigns. The Libertarian Party of Nevada has announced that Judge Andrew Napolitano endorsed Gary Johnson at Freedom Fest Las Vegas."

Thank for your kind interest myajace. We hope for the best.

Yeah, okay..

And I just read the same thing. A 5 hour old post with no sources, and they don't have any video yet? I would say your welcome, but I'm certainly not interested. Although I will find the video links if/when they become available so don't bother posting them here. Pretty sure there's like a whole 5 or 6 other people at the DP that actually care, so you guys should go be real activists and start a website for Gary Johnson so you have somewhere to post it.

Yea "Trev", don't worry..

I've been upgraded from a "non-activist Romney troll scumbag pig" to Stalin, but I promise I won't take over the internet. Then Tom might have to actually step away from his computer for more than five minutes. I hate comment and bump Johnson threads, but I do like to comment and bump so everyone else watching can see your ignorance.

I'm Sure You are Much Nicer than Stalin

Anyone who likes Mohatma Gandhi can't be too bad. He was a great activist for freedom and peace, too.

This might very well be the only

post of yours I will ever +1, but there it is..I'm sure you're probably not too bad either as a person, but the Johnson crap has to stop. Only 6 weeks until the convention...You people have been asked time and time again, both respectfully and disrespectfully. Tom's another story..he's a lost cause. Confused to say the least.

All I want is the actual link for the Judge Napolitano endorsement that he supposedly gave. Haven't found one and no one here supporting Johnson has provided one yet.

Judge Andrew Napolitano Endorsed Gary Johnson

I just received word that Judge Andrew Napolitano endorsed Gary Johnson at Freedom Fest in Las Vegas. Great news.

I hope all who can get to Atlanta will join the demonstration at CNN so that our voice for peace and liberty can be heard nationwide.

My name is Jared Lord, and I

My name is Jared Lord, and I am the Nevada state director of the Gary Johnson campaign. I was the one who personally posted the NV for GJ facebook page status that suggested there was an endorsement from Judge Napolitano. I received the information secondhand, I was not in the room when it was said, but like I said in the post, we will have video footage available soon, and you can certainly judge and debate whether the good Judge's statements qualify as an official endorsement or not. In the meantime, please remember we are all on the same team, the team that wants freedom and liberty for all Americans. I hope that the footage meets your approval. From what I have heard, not from my own team, but from random vendors who spoke to me, is that it was awesome. I was standing next to Gary when he was asked if he knew the Judge would be saying such things and he said "I had no idea." We were all blown away. Like I said, I wasn't personally there, but if the buzz around the convention floor is any indication, it was every bit as awesome as you would expect from Judge Napolitano. We will have more information available as soon as this festival ends and we physically have the time to post it. Thank you for your patience.

All due respect, thanks but no thanks...

I appreciate your comment, but I will certainly find the appropriate links if/when they become available. If there is a "team", we're not quite on the same one right now. If you really want to go there, I will. I politely suggest we don't. Heads up Jared, I see you just joined...if you click on someones profile, there will be a tab titled "Track"..If you click on that tab, you can track peoples threads and comments. You'll notice my hostility throughout the rest of this thread. If you TRACK "TrevorDarden" and "LegalizeLibertys" previous threads and comments here, you would have to be a bit naive to believe these kind of people will help your cause. All they are doing is distancing themselves further and further from the movement, disrespecting Dr. Paul, and making Gary Johnson supporters look like asses in the process. I don't like leeches or liars.

P.s. When you have your links, it'd be much appreciated AND respected if you posted them at http://garyjohnsongrassroots.com/ and not here, although I'm sure that probably won't happen.

I Am No Leach or Liar

I voted for Ron Paul for President in 1988. I donated the legal maxium for him in 2008 and 2012. I hosted meetup groups for him in my locality both years. So I am certainly not a leach or a liar. Why are you so hateful?

The animosity you and others feel whether you feel is justified

or not will probably continue because Ron Paul is still in the race and to promote Gary Johnson here in a virtual non stop bombardment is very inappropriate. Wait until after the convention in Tampa.Gary Johnson is candidate from another party now running against Ron Paul. Stop it and find another venue until then because you are not gaining any converts here and from the comments I have seen you are turning people away and cutting your own throat.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

Judge Napolitano Made His Endoresment Now

so why can't I report it? Rand Paul endorsed Mitt Romney and it was discussed thoroughly on the Daily Paul. If Rand Paul can endorse Mitt Romney I can certainly discuss an endorsement here of Gary Johnson. Ron Paul is a candidate for the Republican Party nomination, Gary Johnson is not.

"If Rand Paul can endorse Mitt Romney"...

You're right that you can certainly discuss whatever you'd like here, but don't expect people to like it or respect it, and you guys (you and Tom) are really pathetic for still using the same "If Rand endorsed romney" verbiage. It's old. Most people are over it. There's just a few, including you and Tom, who continue to try and use this as a dividing factor.

"Ron Paul is a candidate for the Republican Party nomination, Gary Johnson is not."

Perhaps you should listen to yourself. That comment alone kind of supports why you should NOT be here doing what you're doing. But you will be anyway, so I guess I will be as well. A few of us actually understand the whole concept of a "TRACK" feature.

De criminalize Liberty!

I wonder how many times you've said

"I voted for Ron Paul for President in 1988. I donated the legal maxium for him in 2008 and 2012. I hosted meetup groups for him in my locality both years"...I'll check. If so, more power to ya, but the approach you and a few other people here are using to push Johnson has become exceedingly annoying, and you don't seem to show much support for Dr. Paul, other than repeating stuff like "I voted for Ron Paul for President in 1988. I donated the legal maxium for him in 2008 and 2012. I hosted meetup groups for him in my locality both years".

I Say it Every Time Someone Calls Me A Leach or A Liar

So if you don't like my posts, don't read them. I don't usually read yours. Peace.

You're funny...

If I remember correctly, you've said it at least a couple other times, and I highly doubt the people were calling you a liar or a leech. Trust me, I'll check when I feel like it. Stop reading your posts? No thanks, the fact that I don't like your posts is precisely the reason I continue to read them, and will continue to do so.

Seriously, thank you, Jared.

Your honesty is refreshing. I will wait for the video footage.
