Just received an e-mail from Ron Paul... thoughts?

Dear James,

Just last week, I sent you an email letting you know my staff would be following up with you shortly to tell you everything you need to know about our plans for the Republican National Convention.

My staff has been busy burning up the phone lines, so many of you may have already heard from them.

But because this email is so important, I wanted it to come directly from me.

For several weeks now, I’ve been up front about the fact that Mitt Romney has obtained enough delegates to secure the Republican nomination.

That fact hasn’t changed - and it’s not going to change.

Over the past few weeks, my staff and I have researched the numbers extensively.

We’ve come to the conclusion that even if by some miracle all delegates to the Republican Convention were unbound, I would receive approximately 300 votes at the National Convention - far short of the 1,144 needed to secure the Republican nomination.

It’s also come to my attention recently that many supporters believe a win at the upcoming Nebraska State Convention this Saturday could be an important step for my campaign’s success in Tampa.

While my campaign is hoping to do as well as possible there, I can’t imagine a scenario where my goals or my plans for our R3VOLUTION in Tampa would change. They are:

*** Ensuring as many of my delegates as possible are credentialed.

There are many folks in the GOP who want my supporters to just shut up and go away, and they have resorted to every dirty trick in the book to game the system at various state conventions. You and I must ensure that as many of my supporters as possible are credentialed at the Republican National Convention.

*** Planting our flag.

Just by seeing a flood of my delegates in Tampa, you and I can respectfully send a loud and clear message that we are the future of the Republican Party. Seeing so many new and young faces at the RNC will show that despite their best efforts to maintain their iron grip over the Republican Party, our liberty movement is the future of the GOP;

*** Affecting the Platform.

By fighting for an internet freedom plank, Audit the Fed, and a plank opposing the indefinite detention of American citizens – and perhaps even opposing the so-called “PATRIOT” Act and undeclared war - you and I can prove we are a growing force in the Republican Party and perhaps convince more GOP elected officials to come our way on these critical issues;

As a National Delegate or Alternate, you’ve invested a lot of your time, talent, and hard-earned money into my campaign and our cause of liberty.

For that I am deeply grateful - and I can’t thank you enough.

I’m looking forward to going to Tampa and celebrating the success of my campaign, and more importantly, our bright future.

So if you haven’t yet done so, please CLICK HERE and register as a delegate or alternate so you can be kept up-to-date on our plans in Tampa.

And if you know of any other delegates in your state, please forward this email to them, as well.

I hope to see you in Tampa.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

there are chip ins & monies available to those who cannot

afford to go to Tampa. If it is true that you are a delegate, then you know that you do not necessarily have to foot the whole bill if it is difficult for you to go. Just Make Sure You Are There! If you are a troll...it doesnt matter anyways cause you are wasting your time!

james williams

Troll alert..

I am 99.9% sure you are not a delegate. I love it that you are wasting your time trying to discourage real Ron Paul supporters who are delegates from going because I know it will not work.

Have fun! You are fighting for a lost cause.

I try to change people every day. Do You?

Well I'm 99.9% sure you can

Well I'm 99.9% sure you can go fuck yourself.

And I AM fighting a lost cause--THAT'S the problem

Note this..

You are fighting FOR a lost cause. ;)

I comprehend the fear you are feeling as big changes are on the way for many people who have been getting a "free" ride on the back of taxpayers.

I try to change people every day. Do You?

So unless RP gets nominated the fight for liberty should stop?

Do you realize how immensely important the platform is? Do you also realize there are far more than 300 delegates going to Tampa who support RP, but they are bound to vote for Mitt Romney? 300 is the number of delegates we would have who would be eligible to vote for RP should his name be placed in nomination. All other RP delegates would be bound to vote for Romney (unless there are rules changed or rules contested), because their primary winner was him. Tampa is VERY important, and we need every RP delegate there with bells and whistles on to shape the platform, make, and vote on rules. A trip to Tampa is not in vain. A week's vacation in sunny Florida fighting for liberty, and you're going to put on a sad face and throw in the towel? Buck up! We need dedication when the going gets tough!! --Also, if you cannot afford to go, start a chip-in or hold a fundraiser. Delegates everywhere are doing this.

The platform

is just as important as the paper it is written on, in more words its GARBAGE, and means absolutely nothing, for it will never be repeated on the mainstream press, nore will the gop ever act on it. For you to think otherwise is just plain delusional.

1- The email I got clearly

1- The email I got clearly states that even if all delegates were unbound, Paul would get 300 votes.

2- I failed to get on the platform committee. I tried btw, and I literally got laughed off with 4 people voting for me and 30 or so voting against me. If we had 600+ delegates we could probably try to press for some platform changes, but 300? They will walk all over us.

3- I don't know what state you are from, but our committee meetings aren't exactly a vacation and Tampa sure as hell won't be either. It will be a battle--which is perfectly fine with me, but we just don't have the numbers. What do you think is going to happen with 300 Ron Paul people and 1700 people who have emerged from battling Ron Paul people in their respective states? We just don't have the numbers.

I'm seriously asking here. If you can show me how me going to Tampa is going to be worthwhile, I'll go. But I'm not going to spend several thousand dollars to show up and vote for Romney and some Palin-like VP.

Those wanting to contribute to getting me to Tampa can find AR Constitutional Republicans on Facebook and ask about donating for delegates. There are 5 other delegates and 4 alternates that could also use your support.

Westfall, I hope you will go

if you can - and represent for Liberty even if the PTB and the Jesse Benton's
are trying to undermine and marginalize you.

The anti-war Democrats that went to Chicago in 1968 lost the immediate battle,
but they were instrumental in changing people's thinking about the Vietnam war
and other issues. I can't say for sure, but I bet few of them regret having shown up.

PS - is there a way for us non-Facebook pariahs to chip in for AR?

Please stop with the

Please stop with the ludicrous jesse benton accusations. we could do so much more with so much less crazy paranoids in our group.

Here is the group site:

Here is the group site: http://www.arconstitutionalrepublicans.com/who-contact-us.html

The state chair Glenn will be able to tell you how you can contribute--just specify that you want to contribute specifically for national delegates.
(and this will also be more fair than just giving my paypal account--as the other Arkansas delegates need assistance too, some much more than me)

But more importantly, I want to see how this damn trip is going to be productive. 300 delegates out of 2300 isn't going to cut it--it just is not enough to press the platform, they can just vote us down. And you know it is true.

This email has been verified

and was only sent to delegates - delegates who have registered with the campaign. Please stop voting it down. I think we all get skeptism, but please stop the paranoia and sad "woe is me" posts. All of the delegates going to Tampa should be proud to go to Tampa, whether a RP nomination happens or doesn't.

When I first heard from RP and his camp months ago that they didn't believe, other than by miracle, we would have enough delegates to get the nomination, I was bummed. I too wondered what the point would be from now on. BUT, then I remembered, this whole movement isn't just for one man (as RP himself has said numerous times), it's for all of us!! We are going to Tampa to shape the platform and to change the country.

When the battlefield changed (ie. RP knew we couldn't capture the nomination - other than yes, by some fluke in the rules or by something unforseen) so did our plan of attack. We control the Republican Party now. Even if we lose the nomination, we are still winning. Don't forget, we are in an ongoing war of ideas; we will have MANY battles to come, and the nomination for President is only one. Don't give up now.

After listening to

his Skype message I say that Ron Paul's Skype message and that email are diametrically opposed!
I agree that this post should be removed from the from page, especially since it's sitting right under a video of his message!

300 Spartans stood strong against 200K + Persians for days. The 300 Ron Paul delegates can stand strong against an entire party until we win.

I'm pretty sure the 300 got

I'm pretty sure the 300 got overwhelmed in the end and lost. Also, THEY are the ones who want to go to war with the Persians :-)

They did

But for the treason of one of their allys, they could have lasted longer. It is usually treason from within that causes the most damage!

300 delegates

To the point about 300 delegates. Just because there are 300 that support Ron Paul does not mean, should delegates be unbound, that there won't be other delegates supporting other candidates besides Romney. The goal is to keep Romney from winning in the first round, let alone by acclimation, which he will if no one else is nominated in the first round.

Ron Paul delegates are the only ones that can muster five states to enter another name in nomination. If Dr Paul is unwilling to take the fight to Romney or will settle for a few planks in a useless platform, then work the floor, form a broader coalition, and enter someone else's name who is acceptable to the broader, anti-establishment coalition.

I didn't get it

I didn't get that email. I'm definitely on the official list on two different emails and didn't get that email.

Remove it from the front page? Why?

This is Big News!
This is from Ron Paul!

The fact that people don't like it does not change those two facts.

I don't like it either, but sometimes reality bites.

To be mean is never excusable, but there is some merit in knowing that one is; the most irreparable of vices is to do evil out of stupidity. - C.B.

Well ....

It's not from the campaign.

And it appears to be a ploy to acquire a list of delegates before the convention.

And now it appears that the DP is helping to acquire that list.

Those would be my arguments for removing it from the front page.

I could tell you that I spoke to the campaign and they have no knowledge of this letter, but why would you believe me, and I didn't, because it would be waste for me to report back, it would simply be dismissed.

No one would believe you

No one would believe you because you're full of shit. "It appears to be a ploy"... to who? You? So? What do you know?

Its hard to believe so many that made it to the Ron Paul side fell back into a delusional state of mind. Its time to wake up once again and move on and see the realist position for Liberty as has Nystrom, Napalitono, Ventura, and so many.

WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!

Listen at about the 15 min 30 sec mark

and after doing so, tell me if you still think Dr. Paul had anything to do with that bogus email. (Hint: Pay close attention around the 20 min mark.)

listening to that reinforces email

listening to that just reinforces the email -- particularly at 21 mins regarding winning the hearts and minds by building coalitions over the years.

there is no conflict here.

Selective hearing problem?

Clear your head and take the GJ out of your ears.

Sorry to say..

but our last chance to influence the people of this country to the side of liberty and the constitution is by supporting Gary Johsnson and getting him in the debates. That really is our last chance before all hell breaks loose.

The convention is going to be nothing but a waste of time in all sense and purposes Ron Paul has effectively waved the white flag and is hoping that the few delegates that the gop let in won't cause a seen. Even then, a seen would be ignored by the mass media and noone would even know about it other than those few that attended.

Its a done deal.

I have never donated money to any other politician other than Ron Paul, but I will donate to Gary Johnson for the sole purpose of just getting him into the debates this fall.

What magic words can Johnson say

at the debates that will keep hell from breaking loose?

It's just going to be a Punch and Judy show between Romney and Obama if Paul doesn't make it. Who would care about watching that?

He can keep Romney from

He can keep Romney from getting elected and send a message to the GOP that if they want the support of people like us, they will not treat us like they have.

He also climbed Mount Everest. Any candidate that climbs mount Everest is worthy of my support.

Again sorry to say

But Johnson can do exactly that-point out all hell is about to break loose on the American people because of their policies, and probably a bit more on point than than Ron Paul.

Those are prime time debates with a much bigger audience.

Im starting to feel like

Im starting to feel like Daily Paulers are delusional after reading these comments.
