2 songs I'd like to see as YouTube videos for RP

0 votes

Sorry if this is a little off-topic but I've seen some really well-crafted videos out there on YouTube and I've been waiting to see a couple of really good ones done to 1) Rockin in the Free World by Neil Young and 2) Invincible by Muse

I think the latter was pretty much made to be Ron Paul's theme song. Not sure if any of you out there have the skills to do it or know someone that does. I tried it but they didn't come out with as much quality as the ones I've seen. But I'd really like to see those two songs with some powerful Ron Paul messagery :-)

A couple other ones would be good

One by U2, acoustic version, how to save a life by the Fray and you get what you give by the new radicals

How bout some Alabama 3 ?

I always think of our revolution when i hear this song... Too militant maybe? :)

Power in the Blood

No time for spindoctor's medicine
Cooked up by the government, selling me some cover-up
Sponsored information, crack pipes in the shopping malls
Nothing but another drug, a license they can buy and sell

I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
When that call it comes, I will be ready for war

No time for backhanded compliments
From bourgeois apologists desperate for an incident
Real-estate assassins, assessing my predicament
My dollar bills dependant upon it being in their interest

I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
I don't mind dying
When that call it comes, I will be ready for war

CHORUS

There is power in the blood, justice in the sword
When that call it comes, I will be ready for war
Power in the blood, justice in the sword
When that call it comes, I will be ready

I will raise mah sword up right
To the bright and shining light,
Stained crimson red with the blood of the unredeemed
And as I cut them limb from limb, and I dash all their kith and kin,
You know, their bodies I will bury in the deep
Because there's power in the blood.
There's power in the blood.

Perfect Song - "Love is the Movement" by Switchfoot

My wife suggested this song weeks ago and I have yet to post...this seems to be the perfect place to do it.

Somebody please make a video out of this one...the lyrics are powerful and the song rocks...

"Love is the Movement" Switchfoot

Good day in LA
and millions of faces are looking for movement
'cause everythings stuck, and everythings frozen and everyone's broken
and nobody moves and everyones scared that the motion will never come
this is an incompletion, stuck in time

Chorus

Love is the movement, Love is a revolution
this is redemption, we don't have to slow back down

(etc)

Some sections could definately be used for a powerful video, especially the chorus

Looks like I wasn't the only

Looks like I wasn't the only one with this thought on my head :-)
I remember seeing one video a while back on youtube that said 'We Are Ron Paul'
I thought that would've gone perfect with the lyrics to Invincible by Muse

During the struggle
They will pull us down
Please, please
Let's use this chance
To turn things around
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

Then as its saying that last line have it say in the video
'We Are Ron Paul...
...together we're invincible.'
I thought'd it be pretty cool :-)

Here are the rest of the lyrics for those interested. Also check the song out. Very motivating and uplifting.

Follow through
Make your dreams come true
Don't give up the fight
You will be alright
Cause there's no one like you in the universe

Don't be afraid
What your mind consumes
You should make a stand
Stand up for what you believe
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

During the struggle
They will pull us down
But please, please
Lets use this chance
To turn things around
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

Do it on your own
It makes no difference to me
What you leave behind
What you choose to be
And whatever they say
Your souls unbreakable

During the struggle
They will pull us down
But please, please
Let use this chance
To turn things around
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

Together we're invincible

During the struggle
They will pull us down
Please, please
Let use this chance
To turn things around
And tonight
We can truly say
Together we're invincible

Together we're invincible

I really like these lyrics! They are awesome!

So fitting.

But that man should play the tyrant over God, and find Him a better man than himself, is astonishing drama indeed!~~D. Sayers

There is no difference between an authoritarian government from the right or the left...F. A.Schaeffer

The song I'd donate to pay for the rights for, is

The classic by Stealers Wheel, "Stuck In The Middle With You." For obvious libertarian reasons, if you've ever seen a Nolan Chart. :)

has the lyrics.

Rage Against The Machine: "Renegades of Funk."

Doing Afrika Bambaatta's 'Renegades of Funk.'

No matter how hard you try, you can't stop us now!
No matter how hard you try, you can't stop us now!

We're the renegades of this time and age
It's the time and age of renegades
We're the renegades of this time and age
It's the time and age of renegades

Since the Prehistoric ages and the days of ancient Greece
Right down through the Middle Ages
Planet earth kept going through changes
And then the renaissance came, the times continued to change
Nothing stayed the same, but there were always renegades
Like Chief Sitting Bull, Tom Paine
Dr. Martin Luther King, RON PAUL
They were renegades of their time and age
The mighty Renegades

We're the renegades of funk
(funk!funk!funk!)
We're the renegades of funk
(funk!funk!funk!)

We're the renegades of funk
(funk!funk!funk!)
We're the renegades of funk
(funk!funk!funk!)

From a different solar system many many galaxies away
We are the force of another creation
A new musical revelation
And we're on this musical mission to help the others listen
And groove from land to land singin' electronic chants like
Zulu nation
Revelations
Destroy all nations(x6)

Now renegades are the people with their own philosophies
They change the course of history
Everyday people like you and me
We're the renegades we're the people
With our own philosophies
We change the course of history
Everyday people like you and me
C'mon!

We're the renegades of funk
(funk!funk!funk!)
We're the renegades of funk
(funk!funk!funk!)

This song by Alter Bridge is awesome

"Rise Today"

The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

Feels like we're all alone
Running further from what's right
And there are no more heroes to follow

So what are we becoming?
Where did we go wrong?

[Chorus:]
Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
Oh, won't you rise today
And change this world?

The sun is beating down
Are we ever gonna change
Can we stop the blood from running?

Our time is running out
Hope we find a better way
Before we find we're left with nothing

For every life that's taken
So much love is wasted

[Chorus:]
Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
So won't you rise today
And change

This world
Only love can set it right
This world
If only peace would never die

Seems to me that we've got each other wrong
Was the enemy just your brother all along?

[Chorus:]
Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
Oh won't you rise today
And change this world?

Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

1. You've got another thing commin'

2. Revolution

All you fascists

Originally done by Woodie Guthrie, but remade by Wilco and Billy Bragg.

http://play.rhapsody.com/wilco/210978_mermaidavenuevol2/ally...

This song always gets me going.

I’m gonna tell you fascists
You may be surprised
The people in this world
Are getting organized
You’re bound to lose
You fascists bound to lose

Race hatred cannot stop us
This one thing we know
Your poll tax and Jim Crow
And greed has got to go
You’re bound to lose
You fascists bound to lose.

All of you fascists bound to lose:
I said, all of you fascists bound to lose:
Yes sir, all of you fascists bound to lose:
You’re bound to lose! You fascists:
Bound to lose!

People of every color
Marching side to side
Marching ‘cross these fields
Where a million fascists dies
You’re bound to lose
You fascists bound to lose!

I’m going into this battle
And take my union gun
We’ll end this world of slavery
Before this battle’s won
You’re bound to lose
You fascists bound to lose!

Where is the Rudy Library and the Mitt Library. Has anyone found them? Do we even know if they can write?

Just posted one using a Paul Oakenfold track: Ready, Steady, Go!

They've used this track in the Bourne movie series and else where.

Sunshine- by Jonathon Edwards

http://sarahbrighteyes.com/cyndel/sunshine.html

Sunshine go away today
I don't feel much like dancin'
Some man's gone, he's trying to run my life
He don't know what he's askin'

He tells me I better get in line
Can't hear what he's sayin
When I grow up I'm gonna make it mine
Or these ain't dues I been payin'

How much does it cost?
I'll buy it
The time is all we've lost
I'll try it
And he can't even run his own life
I'll be damned if he'll run mine
S u n s h i n e

Sunshine go away today
I don't feel much like dancin'
Some man's gone, he's trying to run my life
He don't know what he's askin'

working starts to make me wonder where
fruits of what i do, are going"
He says in love and war all is fair
hes got cards he ain't showing"

How much does it cost?
I'll buy it
The time is all we've lost
I'll try it
And he can't even run his own life
I'll be damned if he'll run mine
S u n s h i n e

Sunshine come on back some other day
I promise you I'll be singin
This old world she's gonna turn around
Brand new bells will be ringin'

Paper Money

How about "Paper Money" by Montrose
http://youtube.com/watch?v=DzrOcGODOqY

Poor audio on this old 1974 clip, but Sammy Hagar sings:
"I've got a million dollar reserve note in my hand... I can't stand it"
"Take away my silver, take away my gold, paper money just won't hold"

If you are not OUTRAGED, you're not paying attention!

"Believe"-The Bravery
"Timebomb"-Beck

Please someone make this!

This is gonna date me, but. . .

I was listening to XM80's back in September while watching the donors and donations rolling in during the end of the 3rd Quarter. Shortly after the $1 Million mark was reached, a song I remember from High School came on. It was "Breakin: There's no Stoppin Us" by Ollie and Jerry (from the Breakin Soundtrack). As the song was playing and the donations were coming in, I couldn't help but think that that song would make a good campaign theme or a good YouTube video. Unfortunately, I lack the skills to make such a video. Maybe someone else can.

I'd like to see some heavy metal to pump people up

System of a Down- B.Y.O.B.

Lamb of God- Now you've got something to die for
- As the Palaces burn
-ashes of the wake
-art of ruin

Lamb of God has a lot of great anti-iraq war, anti-american empire songs that would work great in a hard hitting youtube video

Timeless

Ide like to see more videos with Tom Petty's "In The Air." This song is revolutionary, yet not vindictive, and would get across the love and goodwill of the movement.

A little more vindictive would be Muse's "Time is Running Out." Also a very good song!

"bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

our time is running out
our time is running out
you can't push it underground
you can't stop it screaming out"
