Nebraska Convention Delegates biggest concern.

As a county delegate to the convention I respected and demanded that the rules were followed. The rules were followed as enumerated in the "2012 State Convention Proposed Rules." We guarded the ballot boxes, we observed the count, we used machines that have provided fair counts in the past and do not justify the ultra paranoid software hackers theory. Trust me I have been an IT professional for over 32 years. These contraptions only see blacked vs un-blacked ovals on the ballot. No secret software was injected into the equation. Nebraska used simple readers and were visually supervised.

The simple fact of the vote was that we did not have the delegates in place. This has been stated in many posts. It was going to take an exceptional coincidence of things to occur for Nebraska Liberty minded folks to win.

However, nowhere in the rules numbered 1 through 14 were there any ballot construction guidelines.
The ballot in my opinion was slanted dramatically. At the top of the ballot was a framed box that stated "it" (the nominees in this area) was the Romeny slate. This framed box contained the names of those fully vetted to support "the agenda" of Mitt Romney.

Below this, was a random listing of the others wishing to seek the support of the voter.

I would not scoff at this under normal circumstances, but sitting behind me two rows was an older gentleman of about 75-80 years of age and overheard the assistant to the Sergeant of Arms instructing him concerning his ballot.

He explicitly said to this older gentleman that "if you support Mitt Romney you need only to vote for the candidates in the top box, the rest are other supporters" This occurred during the "National Convention Delegates by Congressional District" election.

For me this is unacceptable. What should I have done at this point?

BS!

When Fascism goes to sleep, it checks under the bed for Ron Paul!

Now I was a delegate to the

Now I was a delegate to the county and an alternate to my state. I organized the effort in my county...one of the toughest in the state. I had a slate of 20 people out of about 3 or 4 hundred people. There was a ballot given to everyone to vote on with the chosen ones listed and all there needed to be done was x the box. I motioned to remove the ballot and moved for an open ballot to which everyone had to write in names. My motion was approved. Before that even begun, my group of 20 mingled with everyone and passed out political resumes to the tables so people knew who we all were. I also volunteered at the convention. I made certain to greet and meet everyone. In the end, we all walked away as alternates which was better than what we would have gotten if we did not pull the pre printed ballots from the convention.

Speak and they shall listen ( well, sometimes).

I guess people are frustrated because you all didn't go out fighting. That's my 2 cents.

Could the Ron Paul campaign be in on the voting scam?

Unfortunately the answer could be yes. Plausably deniable, of course.

I'm not sure the Ron Paul

Staff that was there was bright enough to be in on it. They certianly didn't give the appearance of "having it together". But I know what you mean, that could be by design. I mean, what were some of the "big wigs" in the campaign doing that was more important than this Convention?

I try to change people every day. Do You?

Nebraska is the Gary Northington state of child slavery.

Supposedly they have child slavery there and sacrifices. They also have secret societies where if you do not toe the line, it can be bad for you. Plus there are a lot of small towns. If you do not toe the line, could be bad for you. This could be something that effects how Nebraskans vote. Romney is someone who has said in debates that he wants to take us to war with Iran and possibly also China. Who in their right mind would vote for someone that will lead us to WW3 ? Romney is for Obamacare(Romneycare) and against it. He is for abortion and against it. He is for gay marriage and against it.

my two cents

re the issues regarding the slate. It does not make much sense to argue against identifying who the delegates are for Ron Paul, when slates are being designed to prominently display the Romney delegates and to get voters to ignore the rest.

The writer seeks guidance regarding how to handle situations such as with the elderly gentleman being given misinformation. Situations such as this would not transpire had the delegates been clearly ID'd.

That said, the only thing for it when you hear something you know is wrong is to speak politely, smile pleasantly, and offer to assist with the information you believe they should know.

Other conventions, Ron Paul supporters would have a Ron Paul slate of delegates list to hand out. (Sadly, cheating Romney supporters have been known to circulate a fake Ron Paul delegates list.)

This whole process

From Iowa to Nebraska has done nothing but serve as an example of the worst vote fraud and election stealing the world has ever seen. Nearly as bad as the Soviets false elections held all over Eastern Europe shortly after WW2 in the Warsaw Pact.

This is has been a total joke. Romney was not elected, he was appointed. Just like all the former heads of the Goldman Sachs divisions in Europe were appointed as power positions in European governments. It is sickening.

Anyone who says any of this has been fair is a fool. Any Paul supporter who bails for Romney is a moron. Obama and Romney are the same. American need to stop being cowards and head to DC armed to the teeth.

"But you must remember, my fellow-citizens, that eternal vigilance by the people is the price of liberty, and that you must pay the price if you wish to secure the blessing." - Andrew Jackson

This has always been the case

We just see it now because we are educated and see what is going on. My mom recalls years ago in W.Va. on election day seeing boxes of money, cigarettes, and liquor used by her in laws to buy votes (they were active in Democratic county politics). There has always been fraud, cheating. This is what the political class EXCELS at, this is what politics IS.
Time to start thinking beyond politics and political leaders. When they won't even allow the tiny concession of adhering to the constitution, which is itself anti-liberty, they are telling us that we are now in the uncharted territory of lawlessness. We are seeing that the worst has risen to the top, now the Supreme Law of the Land is Might Makes Right.
This will not change until the people who help the political class keep the strong arm on us wake up. The rank and file military need to wake up and see that the "freedoms" they are "protecting" blowing up kids in the Middle East are being stripped away back home, the pilots who are spraying poisons over their own country need to see that they are helping hurt their countrymen, the cops who are doing random check points, the TSA goons who are molesting people, the bureaucrats who are bullying people need to see that they are nothing but useful idiots to the Powers that be.

The Ron Paul campaign was

The Ron Paul campaign was given a fair chance to have their own slate and they declined. Seems fair to me. Were the candidates for delegate given a chance to give a short speech to persuade why everyone should vote for them? Or was the candidate list just a random list of people that nobody knew?

“If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.”

I thought the exact same thing!

There was an elderly couple right next to me that I overhear this:

lady "I don't know a bunch of these people"

Old man "If you don't know, vote the slate"

I just figured that there really wasn't much that could be done at that point. We got jobbed. It's not really that big of a deal. Hurts them more than it would have helped us.

Trust you? I don't even know you.

How do you know these machines provided fair counts in the past? Do you have evidence to show me where you verified these past counts. Of course you don't.

These machines only see black vs unblack ovals, and didn't have any secret software injected into them? Prove it. As a 32 year IT professional you ought to be able to do that for us. But you can't because the truth is you really don't know if there was or wasn't.

Counting these few votes by hand as well wasn't an option?

Where is this strategy I kept hearing about from those in NE. Was the strategy to be respectful, let them get away with cheating, and not complain about it. Because that's all I see.

You sound too sure of yourself for me to trust you. But perhaps your answers could change my opinion. Your post so far sure hasn't convince me.

When the establishment needs

When the establishment needs to cheat I have not one doubt our votes are not correctly counted by the machines. It has been proven many times. In the past Florida has had elections where candidates receive negative vote totals. Until we have a proper system in place I will have zero faith in the machines.

That said it doesn't sound like Nebraska needed to cheat. They had 60% of the voters and Mitt's people highlighted on the ballot. The sleepers or paid shills only needed to check off the names in the box.

Bottom line the GOP out organized and numbered RP support. They learned from all the other conventions. Nebraska is an example of how future conventions will operate. I don't think we can expect to win future conventions without the numbers. The GOP has evolved.

Whipped Dogs

Let's go to Nebraska after all the posturing about being prepared and ready for a showdown and then just roll over and whiz in the air. Sounds to me like that is what really happened. This sure wasn't the same attitude they showed in Louisiana! Should have sent those people instead!

skippy

I don't trust the machines at all.

but in this case it was I believe it was fair. They funneled votes to their delegates by the way they designed the ballot. Judging by the makeup of the room that seemed like the most likely scenario.

They did an excellent job of stressing how important it was to elect Romney. It was stressed in every GOP email regarding the convention. Every speaker would state it multiple times. Then they would scare the crap out people by talking about how bad obama is. Most of the crowd was in such a daze after hearing this so many times, at the convention and on talk radio, that they don't even know that their minds are being influenced. Voting machines aren't the only way to steal an election.

You nailed it.."they scared the crap of them"

They even swayed a couple 2008 Ron Paul supporters to move over to Romney out of fear of electing Obama. I was thankful they didn't bother to show up at the county convention this time around, let alone the state convention. :o)

Nebraska delegate here also

The thing was..not all the national delegate candidates below their box where Ron Paul supporters. There where many down below that where known Romney supporters. They just where not "chosen"

Usually the chosen ones and when I say chosen ones, I mean chosen by the GOP to be on their slate for national delegates or hold elected offices(be endorsed by the party). To be chosen you usually have had to pay your dues by carrying the water for the GOP over the years. Basically following their marching orders, push their candidates and agendas, volunteer, give money etc etc.

Now what I found VERY interesting was one of their chosen candidates this time around was the county chairman from my county that has not been involved in the party very long and even the short time she has been our county chairman..the past chairman has still been the front person. But she carried allot of water for the GOP this year when she totally threw the NE GOP rules out the window along with Roberts rules of order and disenfranchised the delegates at our county convention. Her reward..straight to the head of the line. She was on the Romney slate that is going to Tampa. I guess the price she paid was her integrity.

Seems to me

The price she paid was getting on a committee, like Ron Paul asked us ALL to do, and become chair, thus she was VETTED. You can call it "chosen", but officially, it is called VATTED, or CREDENTIALED.

My committee has 14 empty seats, where, oh where, are the Ron Paul Republicans?

You obviously have your own issues you

are dealing with and are using my post to vent them.

We had the numbers and we should have been able to take the chairmanship and filled committees etc etc..but that still would not have gotten any of us on the Romney slate.

What you had

Were QUALIFIED delegates.

Like a political candidate, delegates also need to be VETTED, BY THE COMMITTEE.

It's the committee's job.

My issue is making RP's message a reality, and to do that, we must follow the protocol that's in place.

I applaud every delegate who QUALIFIED. That is awesome!!! That was a BIG FIRST step, it's just not enough to actualize that seat as ot takes MORE than being qualified.

I hope, I really hope, that the delegates will not give up, but face that committee, and do what it takes, to get a seat FOR Ron Paul, For LIBERTY, for FREEDOM, for all of us.

God Bless You!

In my post above I was talking about

a COUNTY convention when I was referring to the chairman.

County Chair is good enough

The shame is she got in and a RP GOP did not.

If Romney wins, those seats are going to be filled so fast our heads will spin. That's why we should be working to get them now, as the fight for LIBERTY never ends.

Peace be with you.

Not one Paul Supporter at that convention

Even put forward a candidate for committeewoman man or chair! I didn't hear his name once, no one stood up to give a speech about liberty. No one took a stand. I see nothing but cowardice in the face of adversity. For many people their hopes rides on this convention for more than just a plurality of del's. Think about the Michigan soldier on tour in Saudi Arabia, or Romney taking a nice fat 100 million dollar check in June from his 'supporters'.
And Ron Paul won 2 delegates. So much for Live Free Or Die

Oath of Freedom
for the True north, strong & free!

In my post which he was referring to

I was talking about a COUNTY convention.

AS for the state you don't know what you are talking about...we took quite a few state committeewoman and man positions. Most where voted on at the county conventions to start with, but a few where voted on at the state conventions. I'm not sure of the results from the state convention.

I Wish I Had Been There

...to fill one of those fourteen seats.

PS. Sent you an email. Get it? Did not ship yet....will Monday. Happy Birthday!!!!!

fonta

Thank you (((( fonta)))))

It said I had an email, so I opened the folder and it was empty. Now it says I don't have an email.
