For God Sake, RP - Please Write Your Speech Instead Of Stumbling And Losing Your Audience At Tampa!

NOT meant to be offensive. RP has great insights and eloquence into the subjects of the Constitution, Money, Economy, War, Patriotism, Free Market Capitalism and most of all Liberty! He can see the forest in the trees and vise verse.

BUT when it comes to delivering....by his own admission, he is lacking at times.
And at times he is eloquent on the spot. But delivery has been his greatest handicap.

The Tampa speech is NOT a place to flip a coin and hope he comes through to the Romney Zombies.

He NEEDS a game plan
.........a SPEECH PLAN

Lay it out...without lingering too long on one point and losing time on other critical matters that none but he will expose to the American people.

He NEEDS to loose the technical terms and jargon that ONLY HIS FOLLOWERS UNDERSTAND, and CONNECT WITH THE FOX NEWS (anyone but Obama) masses on their level of thinking and capacity to understand the issues.

F you Jesse Benton if you wont make this happen.
Rand, hmmm go away please.
(ok i might have gone a little over the top with the them two)

BUT PLEASE RP """ GET YOUR SPEECH WRITTEN DOWN"""

REMEMBER...THE WHOLE FOX NEWS CHANNEL IS SCRIPTED
AND THERE ARE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WHO FALL FOR EVERYTHING THEY SAY. period.

He's about the best speaker

He's about the best speaker I've ever seen. He is genuine and from the heart and it does come across to the audience. No canned and polished b.s. from our guy...if that is what you wnat you will be happy with Romney. I sincerely think that Ron Paul is a terrific speaker and that his speeches hit a nerve with people in a good way; and that he connects with real people in the audience. The only time I think he has speaking issues is when he is in vicious debates or being viciously attacked in those gotcha news shows...sometimes he stammers a bit. But each time that happens not only does it show his humanity and realness, but I think to myself how he does a heck of a lot better than I could do under the same pressure. Ron Paul has a wisdom about PR that is difficult for most of us to grasp at first. The cool thing about it is that, like the tortoise and the hare, it does amazingly win out in the long run...you should know because you listened to him and support him, right?

Would you like for him to get

Would you like for him to get a teleprompter too??? :-P

He writes out his speeches for the House.

It's really weird how he won't do it for major events.

I thought his Texas speech

I thought his Texas speech was great, an example of him writing it in advance...either that or he was on fire that day. That was about 45 minutes though...15 will be a different ball game

23

He is great when he is focused

But some times his speeches seems like he is playing whack-o-mole

unusual

In some ways he's a great speaker, in that he's always got plenty go on about on a ton of different subjects. He can answer any surprise question, because he thinks deeply about many subjects. Nobody else out there is such a rock. People like watching him speak because it's almost unbelievable that someone so principled exists.

It's difficult to imagine anyone replacing him, because even liberty-minded supporters don't lead such clean and consistent lives or have their philosophy so ironed out.

How many people has he driven to finally hop on Google to find out what "liquidate the debt" or "Keynesian economics" means? It pops right up if you start typing "keyn". Likewise start typing "austri".

He's so unusual that it's difficult to classify him or say what he should do.

haha - like Ron would falter

haha - like Ron would falter a fucking second during this speech.

Regret your post, please.

If you ever watched his rally for the republic speech, or his NH primary night speech 2012, you'd understand.

RP will absolutely obliterate every person who dares listen to him in August. It will be firey, it will be perfect, and it will cause people who didn't vote for him to regret their decisions. It will be like the rapture happened and those non-christians standing around will have admitted their sins...but there's no where to go.

Oh wait--no , because no one except the 11,000 of us in the room and the rest watching online are the only ones who see it. No, the GOP sinners will die out the old fashioned way. Hellfire..

People should listen to Tom Davis and Ron Paul

back to back on the day Tom Davis endorsed Ron Paul.
And make their own mind up as to which speech was better.

Which speech would convert more non Ron Paul supporters.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Ron Paul needs to tell the Romulans that

The Election is not going to be decided in November (like everyone will have you believe) but, the outcome of this year's election will be determined right there before their eyes in Tampa, FL. And they have the power in their hands and minds.

You are completely correct

Nominate Romney means an Obama 2nd term.
Nominate Ron Paul, means President Paul.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

That is correct, but

That is correct, but Republicans don't care.

"Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty." - Thomas Jefferson
"Annoyance is step one of thinking"
"We're all in the same boat, it doesn't matter if you like me"

Ordinary GOP members DO care PASSIONATELY

They are absolutely PASSIONATE about kicking Obama out.
Most of them are ambivalent to say the least about Romney.
They think he can win.
They are singularly ill informed about Romney.
They do not want to know about or believe any of the mountains of dirt Obama is patiently sitting on to use against Romney.
They do not want to read about anything disparaging about Romney and they accuse us of being uninformed and living in a dreamworld?

In the first poll released since the Bain leaving date and Tax Returns fiasco's hit the news, Romney seems to have taken a nose dive in Florida.
People are also searching the internet for information on Bain Capital.

Romney loses 4 or 5 pts in Florida - poll taken just after Bain and Tax Return attacks hit the news.
It will thus only partially reflect their effect.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/fl/fl...

Bain Capital searches dramatically rise, particularly in swing states.

There is just over a month to go before Tampa.
If Romney can be lowered in the polls, more doubts will be raised on his nomination.
There are already a few mumblings about how poorly Romney is campaigning from Republican sources.

Obama can be beaten.
But he cannot be beaten by Romney.
Obama will drip feed the negative info out to the public.
We need to make the most of it.

Looks like Obama is starting to attack Republican's astronomically high military spending plans?
http://thinkprogress.org/security/2012/07/18/543931/republic...

When polled and told the military budget was $531bn p.a. everybody thought there should be cuts, including Republicans.
Independents wanted 22% cuts, to around $400bn.

The actual military budget is $931bn p.a.
And Republicans want to raise it to $1,431 average over the next 4 years.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

I agree, Ron Paul has a

I agree, Ron Paul has a better chance, but the establishment will go down in flames, then will use their failure to raise more money, enrich themselves and laugh all the way to the bank.

What brought this idea on?

Don't be such a troll.

How many thousands have YOU drawn to hear YOU speak?

Ron Paul has won the hearts of millions! Can YOU match his record?
Stop advising a pro who KNOWS what he is doing! You have no idea HOW Ron Paul prepares before he speaks. He is unique, and inspires all who hear him.

The first time I heard Dr. Paul speak on TV in 2008 I was WON. His intelligence, honesty, humility, were unlike anyone I had ever heard. We wanted to hear him speak again, but you know what the media did!

These motivational script reading speakers like Obama get to be a BORE after a few times, unless you are not too intelligent. Give me a man who speaks truth from the heart over any coached speaker.

Dr. Ron Paul, PLEASE be yourself, and ignore these "armchair professional speakers" who never won a crowd, or inspired anyone!

Ron only hurts during short answers at rigged debates

One of the things I respect Paul for is his ability to make a speech without aid and he's really entertaining when he inserts personal thoughts and jokes into it. I agree that he should have notes but giving him a teleprompter would be a disaster. How often have you heard that one?

That's a knee slapper!

You want smooth??...vote Obaaaaaaama. What a maroon!

Thanx,

Jason

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

"This is not a speech for Ron Paul's followers!"

as someone commented below.
We all did'nt work this hard for so long to give a speech at an RNC Convention.
The purpose of the speech is to turn the minds of the Romulans and the Fox news morons.
The purpose of this speech is not for the Ron Paul movement to go and beat their chest at a RNC Convention.
The purpose of this speech is not to regurgitate the ideas and the lexicon that are familiar to his followers.

THE SOUL PURPOSE OF THE SPEECH IS TO WALK AWAY WITH THE NOMINATION!

To convince the republican minions within the RNC machine that have worked far a wide election after election, to undermine, subvert, and deceive the republic for RNC pats on the back.

He has to show the people who only think of defeating Obama that he is the only one capable of doing so. He has to show them that their choice is between a Goldman Sachs future or an American future.

It ain't over baby!

Good point archer

Thanx,

Jason

You can't get clean in a dirty bathtub.

Yep

Too many people on here want to beat their own chests with another Ron Paul Liberty speech.

I don't care what Ron Paul supporters might like to hear.

I only care about what might get Ron Paul the nomination.
That doesn't mean changing any policies.
It means changing the delivery of the message.
Ron Paul has himself said that the message is perfect, but he is an imperfect messenger.

I am not asking him to be perfect.
Just improve the delivery.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Have you ever really listened

Have you ever really listened to Ron Paul? He speaks more truth in 5 minutes than any other politician speaks in a lifetime.

The Fox news people will be told by Fox news what to believe no speech will change that.

Speaking the truth

is not enough to win delegates over.

You need to appeal to what they want to hear.
Jobs & prosperity.

Freedom, liberty, bring the troops home - no bigger yawn to a Romney delegate.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Most People would really like

Most People would really like to hear the truth for once from a politician. The problem is most people don't appear to know the truth when it is right in front of them. The media spins the truth and the masses buy the spin.

I believe just about every person in this country at one point or another has thought and or said "If we could just have one honest president who would put America first". Ron Paul is that president. How many Americans know that Ron does not participate in the congressional retirement, gave free medical care, and on and on. Just pointing out the highlights of his career and his kind deeds should convince just about anyone. Yet the media has made sure the masses will never hear about any of this on prime time.

The media has convinced many people that putting America first means bombing brown people in the middle east. Silly people buy this.

Pander is what you suggest

Pandering is the act of expressing one's views in accordance with the likes of a group to which one is attempting to appeal.

Free includes debt-free!

Call it pandering if you like

I used different language to my daughter when she was 7, to that which I use now, to inform her, to persuade her.

The people who watch Faux News have been brainwashed.
They have the critical thinking ability of a 7 year old child.
You have to speak to them in language they will understand.

"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. They wanted a comfortable life, and they lost it all -- security, comfort, and freedom. When ... the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free."

Lame excuse

You want Dr. Paul to brown nose these brainwashed people so he can win.

Our millions could save him that dishonor by talking with people and making friends with them.

Free includes debt-free!

Wow

Perhaps the most naive comment ever made on the DP. How has "talking" worked out at the conventions? You can't outtalk that shiny glowbox in their living room. TV first. Radio second. Then MAAAAYBE man on a stage IF the message is crystal clear.

How has "talking" worked out at the conventions?

If you don't have the majority of votes there is nothing left but talking.

We talked and talked and talked at our convention and we made sure our neighbors could hear. We talked about the Constitution and how great liberty was and how rotten it feels to see liberty trampled. We talked our fool head's off.

So what?

Free includes debt-free!

"there is nothing left but talking"

I thought there was man on stage. Isn't that the point of this thread?

The Speech Dr Paul gave at

The Speech Dr Paul gave at OUR last convention was monumental. I still tell newbies to watch it. He did have 3X5 cards though.

Dr Paul believes what he says, He is honest
I believe that comes across to his audience
... People enjoy that
