Ron Paul doesn't believe his Audit The Fed bill will pass Senate

After being approved in June by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Paul’s legislation is set to land on the House floor next week. And while Paul expects the measure to die in the Senate, despite having more than 270 co-sponsors, he said he is optimistic it will not be the death of his signature cause.

“I’m feeling good about it. I think we’re making progress, and the American people are very much aware of the interconnections of the Federal Reserve and the financial conditions of the country and the economic problems that we have,” Paul said in an interview with POLITICO.

Will you help prove Ron Paul wrong?

The first step is getting HR 459 passed in the House with as much support as we can get.

The House will probably vote on HR 459 next week (July 23-26).

HR 459 has 270 cosponsors. Find out if your Representative is a cosponsor then call him.

Here's how to check if your Representative is a cosponsor:

1. Find out who your Rep is by entering your zip code here:

2. Check this list of cosponsors for your Rep's name:

If your Rep is a cosponsor, thank him for cosponsoring HR 459 and remind him that you will be watching how he votes.

If your Rep is not a cosponsor, urge him to cosponsor HR 459 and remind him that the bill has 270 bipartisan cosponsors.

After the bill passes the House, we will need to focus on getting the media (especially the liberal media) to report on this bill and focus on gathering support in the Senate.

Ron Paul first introduced his Audit The Fed bill in 1981 (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/97/hr2322).

The least we can do for him is make some phone calls.

Push, push, push. Find

Push, push, push. Find Democratic co-sponsors. Use fiery rhetoric to get people on your side. Make the other politicians scared that if they don't do this, they look like corporatist shills.

It is the Democrats who haven't signed on yet.

95% of House Republicans have cosponsored HR 459 but only 23% of House Democrats have signed on.

There are also 46 House Democrats who cosponsored HR 1207 in the last Congress but are not cosponsors of HR 459. The two bills do exactly the same thing.

For him and ourselves both

Thank for this post. We'll be taking action for him and ourselves both.

Anyone make any calls?

This bill will most likely be voted on NEXT WEEK.
