Reports - Christie to Keynote in Tampa

By Justin Sink - 07/18/12 01:18 PM ET

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will be the keynote speaker at next month's Republican National Convention, according to multiple media reports.

The New York Post — which, along with NBC News, is reporting Christie's keynote slot — reported that word of his selection was "quietly" going out to Republicans in New Jersey.

But sources at the Republican National Committee said Wednesday that they did not know whether Christie had been officially offered the keynote role.

Assuming the reports are accurate, the primetime speaking address is an indication that Christie — known for his brash style and populist tone — is unlikely be Mitt Romney's vice presidential selection.

Too much manure in the Garden State.

Chris Christie asside from being morbidly obese is an arrogant windbag blowhard and behaves little better than a school yard bully and should be delt with in much the same fashion. If he's the direction the GOP is aspiring to then all hope is lost for the GOP in my opinion.

Wouldn't surprise me if he were the keynote speaker.

He did a fine job in NJ. At least half of the votes we casted for Ron Paul in our June Primary were taken off and divided between Gingrich and Santorum, giving Romney a huge "victory" here. Oh, remember those signs I told you we were making (in another thread)? Christie ordered all Ron Paul signs to be removed.

He certainly worked hard enough to earn the keynote speaker position.

Christie is no conservative.

Especially regarding gun control.
He's a huge(pardon the pun) gun grabber.
