Dimitry Orlov: Seizing the mid-collapse moment

A recording of the public lecture by Dmitry Orlov on 9 June 2009, at the Davenport Hotel, Dublin, Ireland.

If you haven't heard of Mr. Orlov before give him a listen now. It will be an eye opener as he draws comparisons and highlights differences between the Soviet collapse and the ongoing collapse of the US.

My apologies if this has been posted before, I didn't see any matches with the search tool.

uuuuuuhh....

I agree with some of the stuff this guy says. But I believe alot of it is bullshyt. Not because I think the collapse won't happen, but because of the way he thinks it will happen, what it will be like and some of the stuff he says just sounds wrong.

The biggest is that Americas large gun ownership will be a negative. Which is total bull because its the best thing we have going for us.
Also on home owners ship, yeah these mortgage companies require the government to throw you out. They require police, courts and sheriffs to do it all. With those institutions out of they way you could just stick your gun the bank dweebs face and tell him to get the f**k off your land. I would. I mean if we are talking about a collapse here, whats to stop anyone from doing that? lol Also another thing is that he makes it sound like the collapse will be calm, it won't. lol Not at all. They know it will be mad max like. Road warrior and Fallout style stuff. I mean everyone knows people going to go bat sh*t insane. Also his stuff about the houses, yeah I lived for years in a row home in Baltimore and its not pleasant. I wouldn't mind sharing a wall with nice people. lol Living in tight cramped cities won't be a good thing. Besides most American cities are predominantly black and they depend on the government. There won't be any farming there. I mean at some points he even started sounding like a globalist. Also when the fit hits the shan, I am stealing cars. lol He talks about hitch hiking? is he insane? no one will be able to drive then. Theres abandoned house right across the street from me and abandoned car. Under the right conditions they could both be mine. lol Or just one, I am not greedy. A nice shiny black Hyundai. lol I mean at some points I was even starting to wonder if he was serious, I mean he started he out good.

But in closing I know he thinks hes real cool with his sail boat and all, we will just shanghaied by pirates. lol I mean when things get that bad there will be bans of theifs, robbers, and killers everywhere. Hell if things are bad enough I might just become a raider or highway men. Seems like a fun collapse career. Getting stuff for free. Maybe looting as well. I mean I am poor and have no money to spare, so I will have to survive some how. I would rather fight and kill than be someone slave.

I agree with some of your sentiments

but not all.

yes, it could be seen as an anti-2nd statement, but I think it was more like he was saying how bad the situation can get.

as for the hitch-hiking, you have to understand the culture he is comparing to. If you ever travel to Eastern Europe you will see this. People just stand by the road and stick their arm out like they are hailing a cab and any car can pull over. you negotiate a quick price and suddenly this guy driving his car down the road becomes a taxi.

It's seems so dangerous to us Americans, and at times it is for them, but it's how it is there...and may very well be like that here, only after things settle down, of course.

you don't have to agree with everything he says, but it's definitely worth your time looking into him a little further.

What I find funny

Is how he talks about Americans having a fetish for having our own cars. lol Thats alot of down talking coming from a guy with his own friggin sail boat. While I did find him interested. I think he was largely full of it. Also these banksters and corporations are never going to let anyone have a free house. The only way that will happen is when Americans kill them all.

He made some good points

Well worth a listen. He mentioned that we have to many guns in the US.
Had to scratch my head on that one.

yeah, I picked up on that also.

I like him for his insight and observations, not always for his opinions and suggestions. In this case, I think it was tempered well enough. I also think it was more of a statement emphasizing just how bad things could get around here.

Intentional Shut Down

Listening to Joel Skousen briefly last night, I am reminded that with the Patriot Act, NDAA, financial stresses, etc... They have full plans to stifle dissent, send people at some point off in the middle of the night to God knows where and to do God knows what to.

It's just like the border. They want it open. It's intentional. You don't wage a "war on terror" with your backdoor wide open. It's all in plain sight for anyone to actually take a look and see.

It's all intentional. As Chris Hedges said, they are "harvesting." They are intentionally shutting down the U.S. It is very encouraging to hear Ron Paul be so optimistic. It will only be with God's help that we see a radical turn around. It will have to be radical if it is to turn around.

I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war. Ps 120:7

Dimitri Orlov is awesome

I read his book Reinventing Collapse about two years ago. Well worth the read.

I had never seen this presentation before.

Thank you.

I do wish...

...that he were less correct in a lot of his ideas.
