Re: Theater shooting in Aurora CO - 20 wounded and 12 dead

Meanwhile: http://icasualties.org/OEF/Fatalities.aspx

I guess this post is up to interpretation. Mine? While people are crying about an unjust tragedy of at least 12 dead during one day, they don't give a crap about the consequences of unjust aggressive warfare over the course of a couple days or several decades.

In a news forum, I made a slightly inappropriate comment

pointing out how ironic it was that these people had paid to see a movie with horrific carnage and violence (not that they don't have a right to do that of course) when the real thing was visited upon them.

I recieved the completely expected response "The movie isn't real. And THIS IS!"

But people seem to lose that distinction.

How else can you explain the fact that we love to see Stalone movies, and action war movies - where of course the good guy, our movie hero, never gets killed. But he wipes out hundreds of "Muzzies" some for only looking at him wrong, to the wild cheers of the audience?

We don't get to see the real war dead. We don't get to hear the anguished mourning of real fathers and mothers who are left to bury pieces of their children. We don't get to see the horrors of war.

All we see is the Batman movie version shown at the multi screen cinema.

Maybe THATS why people don't rise up in anger against these terrible, illegal and unwarranted wars of aggression.

It is ironic, when real violence meets movie violence. But one way or another people need to know the difference. And to know that in real life the dead don't get up at the end of the day to play Muslim casualities in the next action adventure movie to be shot tomorrow.

Keep in mind why we have these wars.

It certainly isn't to bring freedom to the world.
(If it was we would be dealing with Saudi Arabia and some places desperately crying out for our help in Africa.)

Its not because the US Government makes a profit (At $2 billion per day, with $800 million of that borrowed there are no offsetting revenue streams. These debts just add up).

It isn't because they want us there. (With the exception of paid off stooge leaders, they certainly DON'T want us there.)

Its because defense contractors and banks make huge profits on natural resources, sales of supples and sales of weapons. Forbes Magazine points out that virtually ALL new millionaires and billionaires can point to the war effort for their success. And those people buy lobbyists and make campaign contributions.

And neither Romney nor Obama is going to change a damn thing.

they can't change a thing

they can't change a thing because those rich companies are too big to fail and it would be catastrophic to our economy if they go out of business / sarcasm

Yes they could.

If these other politicians weren't bought and paid for by the big money people.

Irts a matter of "won't", not "can't".

(I see you were being sarcastic.)

Could you please list the names of the 288,000 Muslims, most

of whom were women and children, that have died in the military action taken since 9/11?

They may be be foreigners, and Muslim - but they are still people with names, and worth mourning for.

You are right.

Holy Crap!
