OP PRESIDENTIAL TRUST DINNER
October 16, 2007
7:00pm

National Building Museum
401 F Street, NW
Washington, DC 20003

Join your fellow Republicans on October 16, 2007 for a special dinner to benefit the RNC Presidential Trust, featuring our 2008 Presidential candidates. Under federal election law, the RNC is able to spend up to $17 million to support our Republican nominee next year, and the RNC is the only source of such contributions available to our nominee. The RNC’s Presidential Trust will play a critical role in determining who our next President is.

This Dinner is a tremendous opportunity to see many of the major figures in the 2008 Presidential race, united to ensure our Party has the resources necessary to take back control of Congress and retain the White House next year.

Please enter the below information to complete the RSVP process. If you are already a current and active Member of a particular RNC program, please instead contact the Finance Division directly at 202-863-8720.

Yup...

As is pretty much common knowledge to us now, it was on, Dr. Paul and the MittWit showed, the rest didn't.

Obviously Judy, DeadFred, and the Brokebank candidates have given up on the RNC...hopefully the feeling is mutual!

Not Everyone knows...

...about Ron Paul's being anti-war or that Ron Paul is the only anti-war Republican presidential candidate. I can't count the number of times I've heard people on tv or radio commenting on how all the Republicans were pro-war.

Just this morning, I was listening to Air America Radio (1600AM here in Austin) and on the Young Turks show, the hosts were bashing Rush Limbaugh. A Republican caller was calling in arguing with Rush that there were actually anti-war Republicans that wanted to bring the troops home right away. Rush said that he didn't know of ANY anti-war Republicans and the caller could only say that at least HE was anti-war. So, unfortunately, there was a lost opportunity to communicate about Congressman Paul. Additionally, if the host of the radio show knew about Paul, you can bet that they were not about to talk about him. (I've never heard of them pushing in favor of any one Democratic candidate, but Air America Radio--which is a network of stations running much of the same programming--could basically be called Democratic Party Radio.)

My point is just that Ron Paul stands ALONE in being the anti-war conservative and he and we can't stress that enough. I think that's the #1 issue morally and economically that we're dealing with.

Air America

Just to point out something: Dr. Paul is the only GOP candidate to appear on the Stephanie Miller Show. He has been interviewed (quite fairly) by Ed Schultz. Thom Hartman, as much of an idiot as he is about libertarianism, is tryign to get him on. No other GOP candidate has gotten that exposure on both Air America and Jones. That is testament to his cross-spectrum appeal.

I agree...No Pidgeon Hole

Surely by now, most people know Ron's stance on Iraq and "Come Home Now".
Let's talk about domoestic issues, monetary, inflation, deficit, balancing the damn budget. Many Republicans will agree with a lot of his domestic stances even if they disagree with Iraq. This shouldn't be a pidgeon hole, but the war IS the most important thing to most voters right now. The trouble is they need to think about who is going to make the right decisions AFTER the war, and pay all the debt with our ever weakening dollar.
I heard last night that the Democrats did not guarantee anything regarding Iraq..this only helps Ron Paul's case, but there are several other issues here folks.

RNC

It is a good publicity for Ron Paul.

On the other hand, it is way better to donate $1,000 to Ron Paul HQ or to any Ron Paul supporter help, if maxed out in legal limit, than wasting it with RNC dinner.

Let's hope my friends will neocon Ron up a little

Look, Neocons are supposed to be running this party. You guys want freedom. That is so un neocon it is pathetic. How did Ron Paul get invited? Are neocons going to take this Hope for America, sound money crap? Did you see how disrespectful Paul was to Bernanke? How dare he say that inflation is a problem; that's how we fight neocon wars!! We wouldn't be able to afford to go to war everytime we wanted without the Federal Reserve, dummy.

"You guys are disgusting doing what you are doing. Where is your patriotism? How are you supposed to support troops when they are home? Do you want to make them see their families?"

Neocon F. Dweeb

"You guys are disgusting doing what you are doing. Where is your patriotism? How are you supposed to support troops when they are home? Do you want to make them hug their families, now?"

Neocon F. Dweeb

Is this sarcasm or just a twerp?

Link Problems

Apparently, the GOP doesn't let you link to that page from an outside page. You've got to go to the http://gop.com/ site, then find the link to the Presidential dinner and click on it from there. The dinner is scheduled for October 16 in Washington DC.

He's the man.

Events without him suffer from lack of attendance

And when they try to exclude "outsiders" from straw polls, attendance drops even more.

I wonder how much money they lost in Iowa? In prior years, they had 40,000 attendees, but when they restricted it to Iowans, it was 14,000 (if I remember correctly). Ouch.

IMissLiberty

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

They invited Ron Paul because they're interested in him.

I'm sure the GOP realizes that voters registered GOP are increasing while their popularity goes to the tank. They probably also realize that Ron Paul is the only reason and are wondering if people will bail wholesale if someone else gets nominated.

He may also be there as a threat to the other candidates.

Why Ron Paul? Here's Why

I don't think they invited Ron b/c they wanted to make him look like a fool. They invited him because they're trying to raise as much money as possible so they can donate as much as possible to the GOP nominee, as they know that the Dem is going to raise more money than the GOP nominee via their campaign apparatus. Ron Paul is among the top five fundraisers in the GOP presidential field, so they invited him as he's more capable of raising money than some of the also-rans.

In the end, it's all about money, not about ruining Ron Paul.

That said, this creates a good opportunity for Ron, as he'll be given a chance to appeal to the party's base - that means he needs to speak about DOMESTIC POLICY and forget about Iraq for five seconds.

I created an account here

I created an account here just to respond to this post. NATHAN HALE couldn't be more correct. Forget about Iraq for five seconds and focus on DOMESTIC POLICY !!!! The American people need to hear it all.

The time is now,,,,,,, Ron Paul is the man !!!

Interesting

He is included because he was asked to endorse their program and agreed according to the Ambinder article. I mean why wouldn't he want his name to be in a mailing that will go to millions of people by way of the GOP? It's called smart politics. He would be crazy to reject this offer to get recognized this way.

I don't think this is a compliment!

I think you misunderstood...

I think you misunderstood what this is about. They are not going to list his name on their fundraising literature and then make a fool of him. They are USING his name to raise money -- he is being included as Republicans who are urging people to donate to the cause. It isn't anything positive or negative really, and the fact that they list him as the Honorable Ron Paul, well after that, they'd better, as I said!

Sweet

That's awesome. But I bet they invited him, thinking they will make him into a fool.

Watch out Dr. Paul! You should be more confident than them! They are the fools, and the American people wont realize it until its too late.

hello, goodbye, sometimes we all just need to cry.

I can't get that link to

I can't get that link to work either

Link fixed! ; )

hello, goodbye, sometimes we all just need to cry.

Nope!

Neither work. You need a username and password, it seems.

Excellent, interesting how

Excellent, interesting how they didnt invite huckabee or tancredo, as they are supposeably ahead of him in polls. It would seem, that the gop recognizes that the Dr. has a great fan base.

Ron Paul 08

Ron Paul 08

Not a question of being invited..

It's not a question of being invited, it's who signed on to the fundraising project....I'm sure the others could if they wished.

Dr. Paul draws a crowd.

Dr. Paul draws a crowd. Look for the local media to report that a thousand people showed up to an RNC dinner and then they will mention everyone who attended but Dr. Paul.

They are just using him for his ability to draw grass roots people. What is really really sad is that Dr. Paul is polling at 3-5% and I am willing to bet that none of that 3-5% will be voting at all if Dr. Paul doesn't win the primary.
