My wife has been in the hospital for 7 days. Hopefully she will be getting out today. I've been using my laptop to get online but ever since I've been here I been staring at a brand new PC that has a fold up keyboard and is on a swing rack which has it tucked up against the wall. It's online and hooked up so I know its not waitng to be "setup". Its got its network ID and all that jazz. But it has not been touched since she has been here...and there is one in every room. The nurses now use a laptop sitting on top of a roll cart for all their data entry...an no doctor has ever used anything but their iphone.
All that computer does is sit there wasting energy with a floating windows screensaver. Windows XP at that! it's not the energy that I care about...it's the contract that Dell keeps getting to "refresh" these damn computers every 3 years and most are not used.
Oh well, I listened to 1/2 of the audio book version of "The Revolution" by Ron Paul last night. I was at the part where he explained how fcuked up our health care system is when I woke up this morning and was once again staring at the windows screensaver. (I've been sleeping up here with my wife...other than my daughter who is in college...I'm all she has)
Also, long story short but my wife has crohns disease and I litterally had to BEG the doctor to feed her some intraveinous vitamin C and multivitamins. They DO NOT want to give my wife anything but big pharma drugs.
Most everyone actually has been really nice to both of us, the nurses especially! The doctors are the exception. They are always in a huge hurry, don't want any input for me (thats for sure)...maybe because I have a Ron Paul R3VOLUTION sticker on the back of my laptop screen :), but the doctors seriously have been treating my wife like everyone with crohns is the same and gets the same treatment. No input from the patient is required or desired.
I hate the state and I wish I had learned WTF was going on before I was drivin into poverty. I'll sooner die before I voluntarily enter a hospital again but I can't let my wife die just because I want to stand my ground. This week has been hell on my bachelor degreed $10 an hour job too. On a good week I barely keep the lights on...now I've missed about 15 hours. Oh, living the American Dream just ain't what it used to be...
Have a good day all...
GO PRESIDENT PAUL ~ PEACE!
