VOTEFRAUD RECOUNT - A TRAP?

The election integrity community is abuzz with news that candidate Dennis Kucinich will ask for a recount in New Hampshire, and Ron Paul fans have been pushing him to recount as well. Careful.
NEW HAMPSHIRE ELECTION INTEGRITY ADVOCATE NANCY TOBI IS CORRECT:
"We have no control over the ballot chain of custody and we have learned the pain from the 2004 Nader recount, in which only 11 districts were counted, chosen by a highly questionable person, and then nothing showed up. Now all we hear is how the Nader recount validated the machines."
As Tobi says, "A candidate asking for a recount may well be a tool used to 'prove' everything was okay and then that candidate will be further discredited."
I'll go further than that. The only way a recount makes any sense at all in New Hampshire is AFTER an assessment is made of the chain of custody issues. If the chain of custody isn't intact the recount won't be worth a cup of warm spit.
TOBI:

"You do not walk into a battle ground not knowing where the snipers are, just because you were invited. Strategically, going into something like this where you have NO CONTROL is foolishness.
"And I say this as one of the strongest recount proponents of former times. Things I have come to learn and understand have changed my mind. The recount is someone else's game, not ours.
"In the recount, we have no control, and we have already lost 48 long hours of ballot chain of custody oversight.
"We need citizen control and oversight. This is not going to come from the recount. If the election was rigged...don't you think the riggers would have a backup Plan B for a rigged recount, knowing how easy it is to get a recount in NH?

This makes some sense
Because I also tend to think that NH is one of the better states for ballot integrity.
It might have been a better strategy to wait until Florida, where there are more questions about this issue. Because the author is correct, if the votes are counted, and there are no serious errors, doing another recount somewhere else will be less likely.

$35k to phone poll every NH voter
You can find Ron Paul voter affidavits by calling and asking every registered voter who they voted for. Some 60 % of the 830,684 registered voters actually voted, so every time you call you have a quite good chance of reaching a voter.
Of course this could be an automated call. The cost would be about $35k at the rate of 4.25 cents per call. (http://www.victorystore.com/phone/index.html)
Then again, there can always be a man in the middle faking the answers if every call is made from a single source.
You can find statistical discrepancies or actually more than reported voters for a candidate. This could be a feasible strategy in the small precincts at least.

would be nice to be able to supplement with voter affidavits, esp in smaller towns were there weren't that many total votes to begin with.

I disagree with the notion that a recount could do more harm
than good.
Frankly, it could either expose major problems or it could re-affirm our faith in the system. Either way a Win/WIn.
Since the Dr. is not initiating the recall, no blowback can occur and as far as attacking the Dr. based on his supporters we know that doesn't work.

More reason
to sign up as a precinct leader, and figure out a good number of verified Ron Paul voters in the area you live. This could be the reason for such a push on precinct leaders on the campaigns website and phone calls. Ron Paul is very smart. Thanks for a great post.
