Once again it is the police against the community

Who do the police serve? It is clearly not the community. If it was, they would not turn a K9 dog onto a mother and her infant child for protesting. As far the shooting, we can all guess what the statements will be. "He/they is an exemplary officer who has been awarded many accommodations, this was a misunderstanding and the officer(s) are cleared of any wrong doing..." As the police note many times to justify their brutality, "this is a war", and they are right. That mother with infant under her arm looked as much like an enemy combatant as I have ever seen, very dangerous looking, it was clearly through self-preservation that the officers had to have her attacked by a dog risking her life and that of her child's. Maybe in the their fantasy, they thought the child was an improvised explosive device.

Welcome to Amerika…

I don't think that there is any doubt…Amerika has officially become a police state. And if the real cops cannot do enough damage then the government will send in the military to brutalize and murder the serfs/citizenry. I think that America was an experiment that has failed. Before long, the military will be going house to house to confiscate the firearms, all firearms, not held by the state. It's coming.

i wonder if

My dog is fast enough to rip a cops face off before getting shot. "Oops i let go of the leash. Come back here Killer!"

Does that person still have an arm?

Only LaRaza

Would condone bringing children to a "Protest" against Police Brutality.

The cops already shot someone...Why would you expose your children to an explosive situation?

Dumpster fires, and blocking the streets in a "gang neighborhood" while using children as "human shields" says it all.

I don't particularly voice support for the "police-State" but I can see a manipulation of sentiment, and a "trap" that the PD fell for.

the "gang neighborhood" is

the "gang neighborhood" is also a "real neighborhood" where people live. its not like some section of LA that has been stripped of all human life.

it was an impromptu demonstration/protest. i don't understand how you can blame the families for what happened.

Don't blame La Raza.

They were just as stupid and and had the same terrible parenting skills as the selfish, self absorbed parents who had to be the first ones in the world to see a stupid movie at the first showing and bring their small children and toddlers and infants with them at midnight to see a scary, violent movie. Can't find a sitter at midnight? Stay home and wait for 2 days to see it.

So...Three Wrongs?

Yeah, I DO AGREE that 6year-olds in a theatre at midnight is not such a great idea, but that pales in comparison to bringing them in tow to a demonstration that has all the red flags waving of being a dangerous scenario.
A theater is not necessarily a "dangerous" place.
A "demonstration" in a "gang area" IS.
These are the same people who will be on the prime-time news lamenting that they fear for their children's safety due to the gang-bangers.

Crocodile tears are just that.

Detroit's reputation is getting better because are police thugs are making everyone else's reputation worse.

Free includes debt-free!

This sort of behavior will continue

as long as the individuals perpetrating the atrocity are immune from any type of retaliation. Individual cops should be required to have, and pay for, their own insurance and not to depend on the municipality to give them immunity. Not to worry, these cowboys would gladly foot the bill if it meant not doing so would deprive them of the power to abuse and or kill.

If not us than who?

This is a very bad area of Anaheim

There are two sides to every story. The police didn't use bullets, thank goodness, but we don't know what happened just prior to their shooting at those people. The cops were outnumbered for one thing. We shouldn't over react until we have all the facts. Going into gang territory, not knowing if anyone is carrying a weapon on them, these cops were putting their life on the line. Cut them some slack, please. Things aren't always as they appear. Video's such as these incite violence and cause people to over react without knowing the whole story.

OH come on!

There were women crawling on all fours, women and children trying to hide behind their husbands. Infants in mothers arms and Infants in strollers. No guns...no weapons...no rocks...no hordes of angry men shaking their fist even! And yet the police felt justified in opening fire and releasing an attack dog because these people dared to speak up as a community against one of their neighbors being shot?

Last I looked, people still have the right to assemble, the right to protest, the right to question, the right not to be unlawfully assaulted by police. And the freedom of speech.

Police are over reacting all over the country. This is not an isolated event. And this will not be the last unfortunately.

actually we do know...these

actually we do know...these cops just finished shooting an unarmed white man..because he didn't bow down and stop when he ordered them to...thus in this america...cops shoot first ask questions later...these people were then protesting the shooting of an innocent person...and the cops decided to shoot them and sic their fucking dogs on them...you know a woman and her baby...she must have been VERY dangerous..they will continue to do this shit..because people like you make excuses for them..

His name makes a difference?

think about what you are saying

Just because its a hispanic neighborhood... "Gang?"

You're nothing but a slave making excuses for those who monopolize violence in the name of the biggest gang of all; the state. Your obvious prejudice is simply disgusting in a liberty forum.

It is also evident that your capacity to synthesize facts is also not so great. Children, Strollers, Women...?

Your racism and prejudice blinds you to the point of even given the biggest thugs out there the benefit of the doubt.

agree, that "gang neighborhood" title just irks me

"gang neighborhood". that just sounds like someone on the outside looking in, who has absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

The Justice League is needed

What is the Justice League? The Justice League is made up of Citizen Private Investigators that are NOT on the Public Payroll. They are financed by subscription, private home owner insurance, and donations.

The Justice League investigates all Police Actions.

I am tired of the Police "investigating themselves" - What a joke that is. Only the Justice League of private investigators be an outside non-interested 3rd party.

Its an idea whose time has come. If you have ran a little league, a church, a boy scouts, then you have the know-how to start a Justice League. Start one today.

Silence, peasant!

How dare you presume to demand that the King and his men accept criticism, let alone some form of punishment, for violating the nonexistent "rights" of the peasantry!

I gave you an up-vote, Treg, because it's a clever solution. Too bad it wasn't written into the Constitution and given some legal teeth. Offhand, can you think of any good reasons why the police or anyone else would pay any attention to the findings of such a Justice League? More than they do to the ACLU, for instance?

You know. . .

. . .this one is, uhm - difficult.

The 'hood I'm in - for instance, Saturday night I was outside getting some fresh air while goofing around on my cell phone. *BANG! BANG!* (larger caliber gun than the usual *bang! bang!*).

Usual scenario begins - about 30-60 seconds after shots are fired you hear sirens in the distance - then you hear chopper blades beating across the dark sky. Sirens get closer, "Ghetto Bird" (chopper) starts with the search light - suddenly the neighborhood is filled with police cars - lights, lights - zooming around.

This "show" goes on for about three minutes and then they all disappear.

Yeh, right, we all feel so much safer for that waste of time and resources - and I hadn't budged from where I had been sitting to begin with.

To this day, after shots are fired by some moron - I have yet to see the police arrest one person and/or for that matter the ghetto bird to be of ANY service at all - other than wasting thousands of tax payer dollars.

While they deal with illegal aliens - here they're dealing with saggy britches walking all around - looking for trouble. Mugging girls who aren't real bright and go out after dark.

This neighborhood doesn't house illegals - rather it houses what you and I pay for - food stamp wielding Section 8 housing recipients. Mom's who are crack whores, who don't have to get up and go to work in the mornings and don't give a flying sack of beans what their little "darlings" are up to out on the streets.

In a "normal" neighborhood - children have to be in the house when the street lights come on. Here? The wannabe junior thugs pour out of their government paid for homes to terrorize the streets.

Police shooting one of these government created monsters? Well, if they were mugging yet another innocent person - wouldn't bother me in the least. If people started protesting because one of the junior criminals got shot - I'd protest the idiots protesting.

If the police were here bullying - yes, I would have big issues with that. However, that's not what happens.

Unfortunately the police are so jaded - they don't even care much anymore. They've seen it all and it's just a job - people are simply walking meat.

I understand how they can get fed up and lose it - because they're constantly dealing with the symptoms of our very sick society that sets this up and breeds these menacing brats.

On the other side - intimidation of average citizens and police brutalizing decent people for no other reason than their own angst? No way - fire'em - then throw them in jail. They're no better than these night crawlers.

Like I wrote above. . .it's difficult. . .

Great attitude...

Its only difficult for someone who has a prejudice and racist outlook on life.

Yes, these are oppressed neighborhoods. Just like you are forcefully oppressed by the taxes you say you pay.

These people don't benefit from the system. Hell, these people are OWNED by the system. Your a little less owned because of whatever factors in your life did not land you in a similar neighborhood.

I have actually been writing in a nicer tone than you deserve. In re-reading your post I only see a scared paranoid dude that feels too small against his real oppressors.

Focus on the prize... stop looking for scapegoats... you're only wasting your time and dividing the liberty movement with your prejudice.

Stop with your racist rant disguised in name of liberty; you sound foolish and weak.

"We’ve moved beyond the Mises textbook. We’re running in the open market." - Erik Voorhees

Inbreeding. . .

Please - come on over and take a walk down our streets about midnight. And after you've been pistol whipped, mugged, robbed and had a boot to your face a couple of times - by the little "darlings" - we'll talk.

Racist? Really. When did I even mention anything about "race"?

Inbreeding has apparently affected your ability to read and comprehend, Rafae. How easy for you to hurl false accusations about something of which you know nothing.

Since this affects black and white people - which one am I being "racist" against? By the way - of which race am I?

You epitomize Samuel Adam's quote, “Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say 'what should be the reward of such sacrifices?' Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!”

Go lick some government Uranus. . .be gone with you.

Did you read his comment?

I, like him live in a low income area. I live where i do because I choose to live beneath my means, gotta have money to buy that gold and silver ya know. If you don't live in a lower income area where muggings, vandalism, robberies, random gun fire, shootings and domestic disturbances are a way of life it's hard to comprehend what he is saying, but i agree almost completely. You're living up on your liberty high horse, probably in a suburb or rural area and can't see the reality some people deal with on a daily basis. We here at the daily paul and other parts of the nation who understand whats happening to our country all want liberty but there are those in neighborhoods like mine, his, and where these events occurred where "many" people for generations have relied on crime, begging, and government handouts for several generations to survive, that is reality. Notice I didn't say everybody but "many", could be 10% of the people could be 50% i havent done any scientific studies, I'm sure it depends on the area but there are more than a few in my neck of the woods that act and carry themselves in a way that separates them from the decent people in the neighborhood. He's not scapegoating anybody, he's talking about the way it is. Prejudice is not the same as racism, and when you live in this type of neighborhood prejudice keeps you alive, out of trouble, and from becoming a victim. I'm by no means saying you should hate black/Hispanic or whatever, i have a couple great neighbors who are not white and are great people, but i have a few who are not so great neighbors and guess what, they just so happen to meet a certain profile of people that are usually up to no good. If your smart, when you have to deal with these people you keep your eyes and ears open and protect yourself by being aware or your surroundings and who you are dealing with. Put it this way, when i see a crack deal going down on my street the guy selling it is usually not wearing a cardigan, sweater vest and tight rolled dockers.

You definitely don't sound like a weak person, I'm sure you're a strong liberty supporter and for that i thank you for being a part of what will eventually fix our whoas, but pardon me for the name calling, but you do sound foolish, confusing reality with idealism.

get yourself ready.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself.
Friedrich Nietzsche

I think everyone here needs to act smarter.

If you read all the reports - it is not what it seems. The guy who was shot was a known gang member running from police - not just walking down the road. The people sitting their - all nice and innocent - were throwing bottles and rocks and stuff at the police trying to gather evidence(as well as starting fires and such) - and yeh those poor innocent kids whos stupid parents brought them to a "protest" - real smart.
I am no fan of the Police state we live in -but I am a fan of cops getting a little tougher with KNOWN gang members. I am a fan of cops not allowing neighborhoods full of illegals, gang bangers and generally disfunctinoal people to run rough shod all over the cops.

This is a complete joke. Cops kill gangmember - neighborhood riots. Gangmember kills innocent people in neighborhood - crickets chripin.
So as a group we generally distrust the MSM - but when they fuel this fire - we all jump on it. Not smart. Kinda makes us sound out of touch.

I thought we were for liberty - not anarchy.

1 - "Gangmember" is used to

1 - "Gangmember" is used to describe many people after they have been killed by police. Its similar to how Obama refers to anyone he kills as an automatic "militant".

2 - He was running FROM the police. Not running TOWARDS the police. Running away does not allow the police to shoot at you. If that were the case, every person who resisted arrest would be immediately killed.
