Three survivors of the Colorado movie-theater massacre escaped with minor wounds, but were left with broken hearts because their heroic boyfriends died saving them.

In final acts of valor, Jon Blunk, Matt McQuinn and Alex Teves used their bodies to shield their girlfriends as accused madman James Holmes turned the Aurora cineplex into a shooting gallery.

Blunk’s girlfriend, Jansen Young; McQuinn’s girlfriend, Samantha Yowler; and Teves’ gal pal Amanda Lindgren made it out of the bloodbath — but they would have been killed had it not been for the loves of their lives.

Ya think Obama would take a bullet for Michelle?

lol

Perfect timing

I don't know. . .

Excuse me - but are there any of us out there who WOULDN'T

take a bullet for those we love?

So many have suggested that if only there had been some armed citizen, willing to use his gun, in the crowd, this could have all been prevented.

Sure, maybe. But what if there had been five armed citizens in the dark, crowded, panicked theater - each identifying each other as the assailant, plus of course the real assailant.

I suggest we might have run out of boyfriends needed to protect girlfreinds in the resulting firefight.

unlikely

Most of us who routinely carry a firearm have given quite a bit of thought to how and when we will pull the trigger. I doubt it is likely there would be much misidentification. You would think it wouldn't need to be said, but we have a very different mental approach to shooting people and our behavior would be very different from that of an aggressor.
