U.S. News: "Ron Paul Still Not Endorsing Mitt Romney, Refusing to Withdraw From Race"

[ U.S. News: ] Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul says he still hasn't made up his mind whether to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney. This is causing considerable angst among Romney supporters and making it more difficult for Romney to present a united front at the Republican National Convention in Tampa next month.

"I have not made a decision" about backing Romney, Paul told Fox Business News.

Many Paul supporters are libertarians who don't consider Romney sufficiently conservative, and an endorsement by Paul could be seen by them as an act of betrayal.

Paul, who is retiring as a GOP representative from Texas, technically remains in the presidential race even though Romney has locked up the nomination. This refusal to withdraw is causing some hard feelings among party regulars, many of whom don't want Paul to be given a speaking slot at the convention.

Paul's refusal to endorse Romney is a contrast to his son Rand, a U.S. senator and conservative favorite from Kentucky, who has admitted that his father has no chance to win the GOP nomination and has backed Romney.

With the Republican "establishment" having yet again rammed up the national cloaca a presidential candidate whom every single one of their core voting constituencies despise (see Bob "the Walking Corpse" Dole in 1996, and "Crash Test Johnnie" McCain in 2008 as star examples), why should Dr. Paul either withdraw his candidacy or betray his principles in advance of any kind of "Come to Jesus" moment on the part of Willard Mittney and his puppeteers?

Should the Massachusetts Mormon Mamzer embrace policy proposals predicated upon the strict enforcement of the U.S. Constitution (emphasis on the Bill of Rights), Dr. Paul and his supporters might be persuaded that there's something to the Rommnhoid other than yet more economically, politically, and financially catastrophic malfeasance in the Oval Office, but until then?

Well, I encourage the members and supporters of the Red Faction "establishment" to hold their breaths.

And keep holding their breaths.

Until I get back to them.

Real soon now, I promise.

After the speech

After giving his 15 minutes of fame speech in Tampa, I hope Dr. Paul will find it in himself to tell his supporters to "NOT VOTE FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT'S CANDIDATE".
Of course that will ruffle their feathers, which is what they all deserve, especially after all the fraud, cheating, and shenanigans at all those state caucuses.
And while departing, I really would enjoy seeing the good Doctor give the GOP a double dose of that infamouse Hawaian good luck sign...

Flick 'em off Dr. Paul!

Do We Want Liberty To Eventually Win???

When the Pro-Life wing of the Republican Party eventually won, it only came after working within the party for decades, and slowly changing peoples opinions. It was not fun to be a supporter to people like Gerald Ford who favored legalized abortion, but we won over people by staying in the Republican party and winning over people, and being known as assets to the party.

If we want to stand screaming on the sidelines, that is where we will stay- forever. If we want the support of a party eventually, it will not be the Democrat party that gives us their support. The Republican party has already come much closer to the ideals of liberty. We now need to work to elect Liberty minded people to public office, we are going to have to play for a team, because that is the only way our side will eventually win.

That is not pretty, but it is reality.

The National Observer

Pro lifers at the back of the bus

The pro-lifers have not "won" in the GOP. We a constantly told we need to play nice and then settle for the likes of Scott Brown and Mitt Romney who say whatever to get elected. During the Bush years, we had all three branches and nothing was done. Warmongering and Patriot Acts were more important to that administration. I guess there is one thing I can be grateful for- Santorum's support for Arlen Spector woke me up to the entire shell-game. In the process however, the pro-life movement let ourselves by co-opted in support of the corporatist military-industrial complex and so turn a blind eye to great evils.

We can work with anyone especially if they actually give the liberty movement POWER to actually put policies in place. However, just to acquiesce to support a corporate puppet like the current RNC choice, as "lesser of two evils", IMHO, would just be to let ourselves by co-opted AKA the Tea party.

Ain't that the truth. If the pro-lifers had their way, in 1992 and 1996, it would have been the pro-life, anti-interventionist Pat Buchanan who was the GOP candidate for president. In the year 1992, at least, he was tolerable enough for libertarian Murray Rothbard to endorse Pat, which was prior to Pat going into full-fledged protectionist mode.

The biggest problem for the pro life movement, which I consider myself 100% pro life, is a lack of understanding of the nature of government. As such, they continue to think that the courts will roll back cases in which they harmed life, such as Roe V Wade. That is why they foolishly believe neocons who tell them that the only option is to wait for the courts, when in reality, things could be done at the state level instead of waiting for the courts.

I am encouraged by the fact that at least some seem to be wrapping their minds around this concept, that federal government does not care about life and will never relinquish a power that it has usurped, though I wish the pace was faster.

You see, unlike fools who

You see, unlike fools who pledge an allegiance to a party, we choose to operate on principle. If it was all about party, I would still be a Democrat right now.

(╮°-°)╮┳━┳ (╯°□°)╯┻━┻ "RON PAUL 2012 DAMNIT!"

In all honesty

It does not matter if Ron Paul endorses Romney, I will never vote for Romney. Understand I do not think that he intends to endorse Romney.

In all fairness...

...nobody ticking off the top name in the (R) column this coming November - if the "establishment" gets their autocratic way and the Republicans are stuck with Willard the Wussy - will be voting for Romney.

They'll be voting against Stanley Ann Dunham's Misconception.

This is why the years of lamestream media yelping about how Dr. Paul is "unlectable" are not only duplicitous but hilarious.

The Republicans could run Jerry Sandusky (from his jail cell) for President, and they'd probably win.

The average voter would grimace, shrug, and explain: "Well, he might have a perverted sexual appetite for little boys, but at least he's not intent on sodomizing the whole damned country."

Sandusky for President. Think of him as the perfect candidate on defense.

"In this world of sin and sorrow there is always something to be thankful for. As for me, I rejoice that I am not a Republican." [H.L. Mencken]

Screw Romney...

He thinks he is a hot snot on a silver platter. But, he is only a cold booger on a paper plate. LOLOLOLOLOL Been yrs since I used that!!!!

It's time! Rand Paul 2016!

"Truth, Justice, and the American Way!"

thanks for the chuckle--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Can I get a Hell NO?!?!

When hell freezes over and everyone else on earth is dead, Ron Paul or no one 2012!

It wouldn't surprise me if

It wouldn't surprise me if Romney or the GOP promise to pay the delegates to vote for Romney. I'm talking like $50,000 each--preventing RP from winning is that important to those in power. Some patsy could take the fall if they are caught, so how can we make sure this doesn't happen?

That's News?

Those opinions, if intended as a news piece, are silly and should be under their "opinion" tab. Looks like something you might see on a comment page from a frustrated Romney worker whining that someone isn't playing their game the way they want.

The writer really should reserve that stuff for when he goes home to visit his mommy.

Ron Paul has every right to endorse or not endorse at a time of his choosing and place of his choosing.

I truly hope Ron Paul abandons the GOP bunch along with their surrogates in the media and runs as an independent.

We had our chance and may still do...

We have had the last four years to grow our numbers and we have to some extent and it isn't easy unless you meet an intelligent person of any age who can think for themselves.

I know that Ron Paul started his www.campaignforliberty.com when he was in the race for the nomination in 2008. There was a gadget on the site which told you how many members there were and the numbers grew pretty fast for quite a while. I joined when there were about 6000 signed up and on some days the number would go up by over one hundred.

I became virtually addicted to logging on to see that counter but after several months they took it down. There were over 250,000 or so at that time. Since then they have said that there are about half a million members but there is no longer a counter keeping track.

I used to write posts in which I encouraged others to let others among their family, friends or neighbors know about Ron Paul and his message. I even told true stories about how I would talk with strangers on lines at the post office or at Walmart and gave them the links.

I would calculate that if we started with 250,000 and our numbers doubled every week or every month or even every year that at some not too distant time there would be 10 million of us who could grow until we had enough to win elections at the highest level.

ALthough that hasn't happened as I had calculated our numbers do still grow, witness the growth of the www.studentsforliberty.com and www.YALiberty.org which will still grow in the months and years to come.

The question has always been how much time have we got. Even Peter Schiff recently said that his greatest fear is that the collapse of the dollar and of our economy and perhaps of our society will be blamed on the failure of the free market. See. his speech at www.KingWorldNews.com.

The whole idea was to prevent a collapse to spare our progeny from what results which could be a dictatorship from which it will be much harder to recover and may take generations!

This election is that important but it will not be the first time an election is viewed as such a fork in the road.

I imagine that in the event that Ron Paul does not win the nomination that he will encourage us to carry on as our cause is just and we are armed with the intellectual ammunition to win in the long run.

I share your hope that he will win the nomination somehow despite the opposition of the GOP traditionalist or whoever they are and that he will go on to win the election. I fear that Bernanke and Geithner have printed up enough money to assure a hyperinflation anyway which will be hell to pay. Not to mention the failure of the derivative markets which number in the quadrillions!

We have got to elect enough right thinking Senators and Congressmen in order to nullify the unconstitutional laws which have led to the bankruptcy of our country as well.

It is not just up to one man. It is up to any and all of us who choose to enter the arena for our own sakes and for the sake of our children our battle has just begun.

No Man's need constitutes an obligation on the part of another man to fulfill that need.

Romney's duplicity

Ron Paul won't endorse Mitt because he doesn't trust him. Romney is an Establishment Republican hack who can't be depended on to keep his word. Mitt's finger is always in ther air trying to find the wind direction and determine what his present stand will be, conservative or liberal, constitutional or not. Right now I like what he's saying. Next week I might not. I can't wait until the convention and all this will be sorted out once and for all.

It only takes one to KEEP AMERICANS FREE. Know your duties & rights as a juror. Stop the unconstitutional conviction of innocents in federal custody. The Fully Informed Jury CALL 1-800-TEL-JURY www.fija.org IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. It's that important.

Need everyone's help.

We all need to band together, and in one voice, say..

"Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww, there there, GOP!"

And Ron Paul isn't going to either, even if Hell freezes over.

Despite RNC Overtures, Ron Paul Still Hasn't Endorsed Romney [Ha!]
Written by Joe Wolverton, II

A lot of supporters have been

A lot of supporters have been twisting this to mean "I am still running for President" and "I won't endorse Romney". Neither are true. He has quit the campaign, but is not going to take his leverage away until it's been used.

you think that's something,

you should see what some of his detractors say.

I know! Shameful!

I know! Shameful!

"While Mr. Paul technically remains in the race for the 2012 nomination, the Texas congressman announced in May that he would stop campaigning in primary states. Since then, his supporters have failed to reach the delegate threshold necessary to make him eligible for the Republican presidential nomination at the party’s national convention, effectively eliminating any chance Mr. Paul has of defeating Mr. Romney."

Damn right

I Can't Vote For A Cheater - I'm Not Sure Ron Paul Could Either

If this was any other game, Romney would be disqualified already. His campaign and supporters have cheated every step of the way from disenfranchising voters and delegates by rigging the strawvotes, to wrongfully, and against Federal Elections Law (as explained in the L4RP lawsuit) preventing normal people who are willing to participate in the delegate process from making their votes effective.

The fact of the matter is, if Ron Paul supporters were able to participate in a fair and open delegate process in all states across this country, Ron Paul would be blowing away the competition.

The silver lining in this whole situation however, is these NWO Fascists have been forced to show their skin and have been found out. Results are now that there has been so far a massive awakening that many are not fooled into believing many of our elections aren't rigged... My question is, how many government officials do we have across the country who have been wrongfully elected via vote rigging?

And even if there isn't justice served in our court system, it will be served somehow. And when justice is served, I believe it will be very difficult to swallow for those on the receiving end...

"Michael Brennan" guy in comments section got pawned lol

Easy Target

Willard sounds like Porky Pig.. bu-be, bu-be, bu-be.. that's all folks...

Watch him as he side pedals, then back pedals, makes sure to cover all bases, then opens up with another gaff, side pedals to cover it... rambles forward and consumes a ton of valuable oxygen and time in the process as he flippity-flops on down the road...

Willard is going to get beaten to a pulp in the presidential debate because he is debating himself: Mittens 1.0 vs Mittens 2.0 !!!

The GOP gave us this guy instead of Dr. Paul. I am barely holding in the anger at the moment...

You Have to LOVE This Picture

...of Dr. Paul! A little of "the cat ate the mouse" but with gentleness and honesty.

That being said, I have in my head written many things that Ron Paul *could* say at his rally. I am sure some of you have as well.

While many would disagree, I think we live in a political atmosphere where "voting for" should never be equated with "endorsing." In my lifetime, I have only encountered one person whom I could "endorse" in the strictest sense of the term.

I believe Ron Paul will *not* endorse Romney, but will say that he, personally (in the event a miracle does not occur), will vote for him in support of freedom lovers who are entering (through his example and recommendation) and choose to work within the flawed Republican Party. Given a positive outcome to the Audit the Fed bill, he has momentum and justification for advocating "his way", ie working within the system. He can say...it can work.

At the same time, he might encourage all his followers who want to follow his plan, to vote *for without endorsing* Romney. For those who do not, cannot...he might encourage *everyone* to vote their conscience and remain in and with the Liberty Movement as "Ron Paul" Republicans are. He most likely will not mention the L Party Candidate; however, those who know him know that he, personally and because of his interpretation of the Hippocratic Oath, can never endorse anyone who counters his life-long personal convictions.

I believe he will encourage people to do their homework in supporting any Liberty Candidate...look at who they surround themselves with, who *might* own them, ulterior motives and MOST importantly, their stance on Peace, AU-Sound Money, and Liberty. Look beyond the rhetoric and at the substance. Don't be fooled.

Logically, he will once again point toward the intellectual revolution that is waking people up to the reality of our current political and monetary systems. There are those who choose to work within...and there are those who choose to work outside the two-party system. Both are needed. When ever was a multi-pronged approach bad? Liberty movement and "Ron Paul" Republicans are not mutually exclusive.

I will work with Ron Paul Republicans within the Party and even vote for (not endorse) Romney if I have to. AND, I will study Liberty Candidates very carefully and help to place them in local, state and national positions regardless of their party. But that's just me.

You may be right about...

You may be right about separating your vote from your endorsement... but respectfully I suggest that voting for Romney may not be the right thing to do here.

It comes down to what best serves the aims of constitutionally limited government and the liberty movement's efforts to advance it. A vote for Romney is a vote for the status quo. We don't know what Romney will do if elected. He's hidden his core convictions about the role of government and his record doesn't reflect well against the mirror of liberty.

Withholding votes from Romney will however make it clear to the GOP that the emerging Liberty-Wing will not be taken for granted. And that we will not support a bad candidate... or vote for him.

I would say its almost certain that Romney will not do more than a song and dance to repeal ACA. He will not reduce the size of our federal government, or the scope of its impact on our lives, liberties or property rights, and he will not move the nation in a non-interventionist direction militarily.

The benefit of smacking the GOP in the crotch and getting their attention outweighs any benefit of installing a different flavor of the same S#!t sandwich in the oval office.

“Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.” —Thomas Jefferson

I Am Not Sure If The GOP

...would recognize a smack. : )

I would love to *not* be such a cynic; however, my 63 years have made me so and I believe not only the nominee, but also the President has been chosen. I 100% believe in a fight to the end to restore truth in voting and representation; however, sadly the next few months are not going to bring that about.

I want a miracle...hope for a miracle...however, realistically know there is only so much even Ron Paul could do.

The economy is crumbling...war is on the horizon...civility and honesty are in ruins. We know O'Bama's handlers and we know Romney's handlers and it is not a pretty sight. Both are just up-front...puppetmen...neither will make decisions on their own. And, sadly, one of the two of them will most likely be in the WH.

Only an intellectual revolution..a peoples' peaceful uprising...a great awakening will change the course of events. Ron Paul...on the stump (not traveling with him) ostensibly for Romney going to all the college campuses like he was doing would spread the message of peace, sound money and liberty while encouraging more people to join the revolution. A coming from nowhere...nobody knows him...Gary struggling for the money and without time for the build-up cannot spread the message like Ron Paul can.

The message has to be spread. During the coming devastation, a Ron Paul will be invited to speak everywhere. To me, we have to not only support him, but preserve his legacy. His legacy is the foundation upon which the intellectual revolution and final battles for liberty will be fought. Just my belief.

I have to agree

I see RP's role as a 'mentor' for those that will follow his lead, adopt his philosophy, and take up the challenge of real change.
