In the hours after the shooting in Colorado, the corporate media reported that the mother of the accused gunman, Arlene Holmes, was quoted as telling ABC News “You have the right person” when asked about her son and the murders.

There was an incident a few days ago that shows you how the news has fallen. Its all about access, it is all about getting there first, reporting first, not actually INVESTIGATING and doing the news.
Barbara Walters was talking about how George Zimmermann snubbed her for an interview (he wanted to be paid for it, and ABC does not do that). But before that, she mentioned that he had just come off an interview with Sean Hannity, and then she congratulated Hannity for "getting there first".
Because in her mind, that was what was important. That Hannity got the first interview.
A young man has died. Another man is being accused of it. There are questions to be asked, investigations to be done. As a journalist, that is what you should seek. Who cares if you break a story a few seconds before someone else, or you get an interview before someone else because you promise to never ask any tough questions (see Hannity's interview with Zimmerman).

I don't post too often on here, but I read the DP daily. Anyone else see way too much conspiracy conjecture on here lately, or is it just me?
Personally, I think a lot of these 'theories' should be left on infowars, it's a turn off to anyone that might be hearing and recognizing Ron Paul, and coming here and reading people suggesting that this whackadoodle in Colorado is a manchurian candidate brainwashed by the government.
This is coming from someone that grew up in OKC, and who's aunt was a nurse in the jail where Timothy McVeigh was kept. Despite all the theories surrounding him, I'll take her impressions over any Alex Jones or other elaborate scenarios that others dreamed up.
There are a lot of people in this world, not every bad guy is somehow connected to the government, some people just have an evil streak in them, and get off by doing violent things. Just my .02 cents, I'm sure I'll get downvoted into oblivion anyways.

Just Joined DP so I could agree with you justinp. I have been following the Daily Paul for months now and have been noticing that the conspiracy theories are getting more and more prevalent on here.
It is a real turn off to people wandering on here to learn more about Ron Paul. I should know, I am one of those people. Just because someone doesn't try to link every occurrence to government conspiracy doesn't make them sheeple.
Down vote me if you want but heed my word. Posting every potential conspiracy theory you can think of on the Daily Paul does not help your cause and will ultimately hurt the liberty movement.

I hope others read that it's a turn off to you as well. I have no problems with conspiracy theories, some even turn out to be true. That being said, this is not the proper forum to bring them up. They're better left on sites that cater to this, such as infowars. Not on the DP, where newcomers might come to learn about Ron's ideas on a limited government, liberty, and his take on economics.

I haven't read these articles you posted, but I'll check them out when I get home this evening. According to my Aunt, he was a polite, well mannered inmate, and didn't cause any issues in the cell. He also didn't think he did anything wrong, to him, what he did was completely right and inline with his own ethics. He also had a high distrust of government, but he took it to that next level of blowing the holy hell out of that building. I actually felt the ground move over 150 miles away in Stillwater, OK.
It's a slippery slope to ALWAYS find a way to blame the government for every single thing that happens. Granted, the government deserves a lot more blame than they get, but some of this is ridiculous to me. Reminds me of this movie I saw "Number 23" w/ Jim Carey playing a serious role. All he saw were patterns, and would link it back to the number 23 to where he drove himself mad. There isn't always a connection, and I think it would behoove us to use Occam's razor. Or people could keep spinning complex theories to relate it to a way to demonize the government every time, and call people sheeple that don't agree with them. I'm sure that's a *great* way to get people interested in the liberty message, which is the true point of this site.

Where are the sources?
All I see are him linking to other sources that aren't reputable. Where are the actual documents at from the FOIA request? gunnyg.wordpress.com isn't someone I'm just going to believe hook line and sinker without proof. Anyone can create a wordpress blog and put whatever they want on it.

There is no way to independently verify it. I searched, all there are is more links to unreputable sites, they say "According to a FOIA", yet no source. I even searched the FOIA website, there hasn't been any released documents from this area either. Again, anybody can put up an article and drum up a good story without providing facts.
Anything that's a conspiracy that has no sources, and no facts to back it up, should be left on infowars. Atleast they come across a few now and then where they actually are backed up.
Here's my "conspiracy theory". The gov't is already known to spread stories thru the press of their own slanting, and hires people to comment on stories to sway opinion. That being said, I theorize they are making up a lot of these conspiracy theories to get citizens that highly mistrust the government (such as those often in the liberty government) to come off as paranoid whackadoodles by relating everything bad that happens to the government in order to discredit their movement, and keep the same RHINO pillars of power in place. So far their plan is working, as I see members and secret gov't agents in the DP slowly falling into this well placed trap, and scaring off any newcomers that might be interested in the message of liberty and a limited government.
How's that for a theory?

You are calling sites unreputable, which according to spell check isn't even a word, but just what do you consider as reputable sites? Do you considers propaganda sites like CNN, FOX, ABC, reputable. How about government propaganda sites like the Dept. of Homeland Security or the White House, do you consider those sites reputable. Because I find these sites highly not reputable and nothing more than propaganda spewing machines. And there's plenty of evidence to back up my findings. What evidence do you have to back up your comments that certain sites are not reputable. Or is it because your not reputable sites like CNN and FOX say so.

Just like when you were taught to write a paper back in school, you make your case, then back it up with sources, and references

4) That there is a mural at the local airport of a man with a gas mask shooting kids in a movie theater (I find that weird, as a side note).

No one can say for sure at this time that James Holmes is an MK Ultra victim, or Manchurian Candidate, but there are signs that many are observing that do not add up. Why would this be done? To sway public opinion against guns and push through the UN Gun Ban Treaty on July 27th in New York.
