The New York Times Admits That Virtually Every Major News Organization Allows The News To Be Censored By Government Officials
Submitted by emalvini on Tue, 07/24/2012 - 08:56In one of the most shocking articles that the New York Times has ever put out, a New York Times reporter has openly admitted that virtually every major mainstream news organization allows government bureaucrats and campaign officials to censor their stories. For example, almost every major news organization in the country has agreed to submit virtually all quotes from anyone involved in the Obama campaign or the Romney campaign to gatekeepers for "quote approval" before they will be published. If the gatekeeper in the Obama campaign does not want a certain quote to get out, the American people will not see it, and the same thing applies to the Romney campaign. The goal is to keep the campaigns as "on message" as possible and to avoid gaffes at all cost. But this kind of thing is not just happening with political campaigns. According to the New York Times, "quote approval" has become "commonplace throughout Washington". In other words, if you see a quote in the newspaper from someone in the federal government then it is safe to say that a gatekeeper has almost certainly reviewed that quote and has approved it. This is another sign that "the free and independent media" in this country is a joke. What we get from the mainstream media is a very highly filtered form of propaganda, and that is one reason why Americans are turning away from the mainstream media in droves. People want the truth, and more Americans than ever realize that they are not getting it from the mainstream media.

look up office of censorship.
look up office of censorship. during WW2 the government used the office to hide the truth of japans fire ballons that where landing in the U.S. wire's got sent out to all news agencies to not report the fir ballons falling down on america.

Press coverup
The bombs caused little damage, but their potential for destruction and fires was large. The bombs also had a potential psychological effect on the American people. The U.S. strategy was to keep the Japanese from knowing of the balloon bombs' effectiveness. In 1945 Newsweek ran an article titled "Balloon Mystery" in their January 1 issue, and a similar story appeared in a newspaper the next day. The Office of Censorship then sent a message to newspapers and radio stations to ask them to make no mention of balloons and balloon-bomb incidents, lest the enemy get the idea that the balloons might be effective weapons. Cooperating with the desires of the government, the press did not publish any balloon bomb incidents.[10] Perhaps as a result, the Japanese only learned of one bomb's reaching Wyoming, landing and failing to explode, so they stopped the launches after less than six months.
The press blackout in the U.S. was lifted after the first deaths to ensure that the public was warned, though public knowledge of the threat could have possibly prevented it.[10]

When the Germans and the
When the Germans and the Soviets used their media for political gain we called them propaganda outlets not media outlets. Isn't it time we stopped playing games and did likewise here. Fox, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC and CBS among others have lost the independent rebellious refusal to kowtow to the government to deserve the title media anymore. Associated Press is just a government stooge. PBS is a liberal slush fund. Reuters is bent like a pretzel. There is no guaranteed neutral outlet for us to go to on any broadcast network anywhere. That only leaves the internet and the government is trying to take that over as we speak. When they manage that we will only be a ruled people, no longer a governed people. Of course the number of people willing and anxious to let the government think for them guarantees that they WILL get the government they deserve.
Fluorine?
"Of course the number of people willing and anxious to let the government think for them guarantees that they WILL get the government they deserve."
Or, perhaps, they will get the government that was planned back in the mid 40s, when fluoridation of water began. I've recently awakened to the fact that sodium fluoride bags have skulls and crossbones on them to indicate poison, and it's being dumped into our water supply (and thus not only dis-easing the population, but also anything treated with that water, like plants, pets, livestock, etc).
What can I do about it? Tomorrow I will go to my local DPW and ask them some questions.
I love you. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.
My grandmother, a candidate
My grandmother, a candidate for the American party way back when, warned me of the long term effects of fluoridation. No one wants to listen. They already have a cadre of doctors who are "sold" on the idea that it causes no harm. They can't KNOW but they sure claim to know. The people back then didn't want to think for themselves either. They gave you a "flouridized" today with a brain-dead populace of layabouts addicted to the government teet. We are reaping the results of them not paying attention then and now.
When people
start to realise "Government" is nothing but a coalition of privately own corporations we'll get closer to the true.
Same people own the media and guess who that is....

Does this mean...
Since this is now admitted does this mean I'm no longer considered a "conspiracy theorist"? ;)
Another term for preventive war is aggressive war- starting wars because someday somebody might do something to us. That is not part of the American tradition.

The Soviets had Pravda
We have the NYT, LA Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News, etc. It's pretty pathetic. The good news is that their viewer-ship and/or reader-ship is declining.
That explains the MSM black out of Ron Paul
Trivia quiz: what founding father said, "A free and independent news media is essential for a free society"
Exactly. I can't believe
Exactly.
I can't believe people are even going to accept the results of this "election." The whole thing was rigged from day 1. There has been massive collusion between the media and the current powers that be, and that's totally ILLEGAL.
Also, this government is illegitimate because they continue illegal wars, never sanctioned by congress, based on total lies and are killing our soldiers and wasting our money for Israel and some world domination kick.
The goal is to keep the campaign as "on message" as possible
In other words they must keep serious issues off the agenda and focus as much as possible on personalities and "wedge issues".
So? What are you going to do
So? What are you going to do about it? Start an online protest? LOL

LoL ...Well, here's

Well, here's something that many SHOULD be doing. Start a local low-power radio station IAW Part 15 of Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations. IIUC, one station can have up to FIVE transmitters as long as they're separated sufficiently to keep the power density within specifications. A well designed antenna can radiate a low-power AM broadcast ~ 2 miles. Imagine strategically placing 5 transmitters around a city and you'll likely cover most cities with a population under a million people.
Here's an intriguing possibility which needs inquiry. In the USA where MW (AM) broadcasts of Digital Radio Mondiale are definitely forbidden for licensed broadcasts, are unlicensed DRM broadcasts via low-power Part 15 regulations banned also? I suspect low-power DRM broadcasts probably are banned as well, but the question needs to be asked and answered.
Having control of our own
Having control of our own airwaves is crucial to getting serious change in this country- that's why the government is always trying to hard to make sure it's nearly impossible to do so.
Cable access t.v. is also a GREAT way to get the word out. Believe it or not, Portland, Oregon has a 9/11 truth show on public access.
Now we're talking serious
Now we're talking serious solutions!
If you don't have the money, put posters up around your town asking for contributors to a freedom micro-station, and I'm sure there will be many people who show up out of the woodwork to contribute funds and help out.
Great idea! Don't let "negative Nancies" like the OP say it can't be done.

Review the following map for a graphical list of low power, Part 15 stations throughout the USA. Notice that some of the stations, e.g. "The Crow" in KS, have more than one transmitter!
