S202 - Letter to Sen. Maria CantwellSubmitted by tftxyz on Thu, 07/26/2012 - 01:55
In 2010 you voted FOR a full audit on the Federal Reserve and in 1995 Majority Leader Reid introduced S734, a bill to audit the Federal Reserve. My question to you is 'why not now?' What happened? Is this a party line distinction that democrats just aren't willing to crossover? As a voter, I demand this hypocrisy to end here and a bi-partisanship to coalesce for a transparent central bank. The Federal Reserve has been playing games with the US monetary system for too long, costing many their jobs, homes, businesses, assets and futures. I understand that the Federal Reserve is an "independent" agent, and that may be the problem; who is going to hold these power players accountable? "We the people?" Not if our elected officials aren't. Why is it that "We the people" must play by the rules, while central bankers blur lines and arrange the financial arena for everyone (including politicians) to jump through hopes? As we borrow our way out of this catastrophic financial crisis, the Federal Reserve exploits the US and funnels the money, but where? Where does this money go? Why can't we follow it? Financial policy is inauditable, but the account books are not. As a voter, I demand a transparent government as much as the next generation deserves to know why they cannot have fair ground to stand on.
I am an independent voter albeit a partisan PCO who represents both democrats and republicans. It's time things changed, please cosponsor S202, partisanship aside, the people are wising up to political games that are getting us no where. Please do the right thing.
Dr. and Mrs. Taranto
