S202 - Letter to Sen. Maria Cantwell

Senator Cantwell,
In 2010 you voted FOR a full audit on the Federal Reserve and in 1995 Majority Leader Reid introduced S734, a bill to audit the Federal Reserve. My question to you is 'why not now?' What happened? Is this a party line distinction that democrats just aren't willing to crossover? As a voter, I demand this hypocrisy to end here and a bi-partisanship to coalesce for a transparent central bank. The Federal Reserve has been playing games with the US monetary system for too long, costing many their jobs, homes, businesses, assets and futures. I understand that the Federal Reserve is an "independent" agent, and that may be the problem; who is going to hold these power players accountable? "We the people?" Not if our elected officials aren't. Why is it that "We the people" must play by the rules, while central bankers blur lines and arrange the financial arena for everyone (including politicians) to jump through hopes? As we borrow our way out of this catastrophic financial crisis, the Federal Reserve exploits the US and funnels the money, but where? Where does this money go? Why can't we follow it? Financial policy is inauditable, but the account books are not. As a voter, I demand a transparent government as much as the next generation deserves to know why they cannot have fair ground to stand on.

I am an independent voter albeit a partisan PCO who represents both democrats and republicans. It's time things changed, please cosponsor S202, partisanship aside, the people are wising up to political games that are getting us no where. Please do the right thing.

Dr. and Mrs. Taranto

Thank goodness we have a fantastic candidate to take her on this fall! State Senator Michael Baumgartner will be a strong ally on auditing the fed, opposing the NDAA, overturning Obamacare, and changing our foreign policy (among many other things.) he's been endorsed by liberty, Ron Paul leaders like Rep. Matt Shea, and Rep. Cary Condotta.

Here is the press release he issued regarding H.R.459:

July 24, 2012, Bellevue, Wash. – HR 459, commonly known as the “Audit the Fed” bill, is set to pass the House in its vote today. Senator Michael Baumgartner issued this statement urging the Senate to vote on and pass the Senate companion bill, S202.
“The passing of these bills will allow for the transparency that Americans deserve,” Baumgartner said. “Americans have demanded to know what goes on in our central bank– in fact, 74% of the public is in favor of auditing the Fed. The government works for the people. Auditing the Federal Reserve will provide us with the necessary information required for taking corrective actions, if need be.
“I urge Maria Cantwell to pass its companion bill, allowing an audit from the Comptroller General’s office by the end of the year. It is crucial that every entity of the federal government be transparent with the American people.
“In the 99 years that the Federal Reserve has existed, it’s never once been audited. I think we should consider this as a legitimate course of action, and I hope that Senator Cantwell will help us shed light on our monetary system and embrace transparency in our government.”

Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.
