This a GREAT start

And I'm glad they touched on each part in this order, otherwise (in contrast to what everyone else is saying here), I don't believe this piece would have as much impact to the mostly liberal audience who is likely hearing it. Keeping open minds and pushing reasonable ideas are to me the best means for implementing the policies we we hold near & dear. This is a great piece and is presented very well. I hope millions more hear it. I plan to share.

Another group decides to endorse Dr. Paul AFTER he has more or less conceded the nomination. What a coincidence! Don't forget that NPR was one of the media outlets that largely ignored Dr. Paul during the primaries, but was sure to shout far and wide from the mountaintops about his newsletters.

Well I don't believe he's

Well I don't believe he's "conceded" anything. He wouldn't be fighting for his delegates if he had.

It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled. – Mark Twain

Dr. Paul doesn't support 1 & 2, does he?

I believe that Dr. Paul doesn't consider tax credits and tax deductions to be government subsidies. He considers them to be the government stealing less of your money. So I would be surprised if he's in favor of eliminating any deductions. If we have to have an income tax, I believe he's all in favor of any tax credits and tax deductions we can get.

Great Question

That is a great question.

I think the issue is that 1 and 2 are a mixed bag. The deductions do reduce taxes, a positive for those who conform their behavior to what the politicians desire in order to take advantage of the deductions.

On the deeper issue, however, these deductions are power tools for social engineering, used to manipulate and distort behavior to conform to what the political elite decide is desired behavior. It is a market distortion to alter behavior for the buying or borrowing for special purchases.

For instance, the mortgage deduction is a mechanism to manipulate behavior to encourage home buying and borrowing for home buying. What if my American dream is not to buy a house, but rather to own a sailboat, or to travel overseas, or merely to compile the world’s largest beetle collection? Who are these political bureaucrats to decide what my goals should be, to use the tax code for manipulative social engineering favoring one over the other. It is a distortion of the free market.

These sorts of deductions thus present a dilemma - lowering tax burdens for some at the cost of imposing social engineering market distortions manipulated through the tax code. It is a tough question.

So long as there is an income tax, special deductions will be used to control and influence behavior for social engineering goals or special interest market distortions. It is why the problem must be fought at the root. The entire concept of income tax must be fought, and the income tax ended.

Is it just me or does item 4

Is it just me or does item 4 negate items 1 & 2?

Of course, they mention Obama and Romney

but not RP :(

I am Ron Paul.

If you eliminate the income

If you eliminate the income and payroll taxes.
does not that make tax deductions a moot point?

why would I have a tax deduction if there is not a tax?

will I be deducting from my consumption taxes some how?

End Governmental waste,..... End the irs

I'm 11 minutes in to it, and

I'm 11 minutes in to it, and I'm still waiting for how they are in line with Ron Paul...

If you disagree with me on anything you are not a real libertarian...

I know exactly who I need to email this to.

Whats wrong with mortgage and

Whats wrong with mortgage and health care tax deductions, isn't it a good thing if you can get some of the taxes back when purchasing these items?

If they eliminate all income

If they eliminate all income and payroll taxes then there is nothing to deduct from.

Wouldn't it be better if....

If people weren't paying a tax called income tax that they didn't even owe from the beginning... therefore, you wouldn't need to worry about getting anything back because you would have NEVER given anything to the gang we call government in the form of an income tax.

Best resource on the topic of income tax ever written.

Here's an idea.....

How about we get rid of the Federal Government all together... It's definitely a burden not a blessing...!!!!

Government is beyond out of control. And who wants a master instead of a servant government.

Facts are facts...

Governerment wants to

1: disarm us (1961 Freedom From War State Dept Document http://dosfan.lib.uic.edu/ERC/arms/freedom_war.html

2: tell us we can't use vitamins (codex alimentarius),
3: run our health care even if we don't want them to
4: tax us to death and impose ridiculous laws upon us

So with all this in mind, WHO HERE WANTS this government???? Speak up... please!

This government DOES NOT represent us, does not care about our liberty, does not care weather or not we do or don't want things run a certain way, bails out the very rich while letting "main st" go to the slaughter, devalues the currency we use daily, etc.etc etc.etc.etc.etc.... we can go all day with this garbage......

Don't expect an election to change that, Unless you have Ron Paul as President....

Ever heard of

Ever heard of Anarcho-capitalism?

Check out LibertyHQ, where I aggregate the all best articles on libertarianism by topic! For now, the "Issues in Libertopia" section is the most developed. Find a link to it below:

Well, I'm a Libertarian, but not an anarchist. Maybe more like a "minarchist," which means minimum possible government. We do need a central command post for defending our borders if we're attacked, and a central point where the sovereign states can get together and agree on stuff like the route for a new highway and stuff. Pretty much everything else is or should ve a local issue.

Freedom is my Worship Word!

I can't believe they didn't

start with "Eliminate all income and payroll taxes"! If I was listening to this without knowing the full list, I would have turned it off after hearing they wanted to eliminate the deductions.
