2012 Potus Reality

Republicans will be split between:

1. Mitt Romney
2. Ron Paul write-ins
3. Gary Johnson

Democrats will be split between:

1. Barack Obama
2. Gary Johnson

The deck is clearly stacked in favor of Obama. We have a chance to secure liberty with one of these candidates - lacking a Tampa Miracle. Could Republican and Democratic supporters of Gary Johnson be convinced to write-in Ron Paul to deliver a victory to the septuagenarian OBGYN?

This is the hand reality has dealt. How will it be played?

Would you give this a rest until after the damned convention?

We are sick of it. Quit counting Paul out until it is over. Romney is rapidly falling apart and a lot can happen in 3 weeks.

November 6th 2012 I voted for Dr.Ron Paul
"We must remember, elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." ~ Ron Paul

I hope he does too...

And I will vote for Ron Paul if that does happen.

What has disturbed me - and the reason for my persistence - is the fact that I made an account on this site because I had frequented it throughout the year. It seemed like an open place to discuss any topic within the liberty movement. The front page often had Tom Woods, Peter Schiff, or the Judge, and the site provided me an opportunity to get some of that news that happens off the radar.

So, I created an account. I didn't post any topics for some time or comment for that matter, but recently there began to be a lot of hate towards Gary Johnson. Many times, his views have even been misrepresented.

I saw a person the other day standing up for principle in a Gary Johnson related thread. The comment consisted of a quote from Thomas Jefferson. It was down-voted.

Where did all the hate come from for Gary Johnson? Why all the sudden? Up until not long ago his named was welcomed here.

I thought the crowd on 'this' site would be accepting of open discussion - regardless if there is controversy.

When has Ron Paul not spoke about something because it was controversial? Has Ron Paul EVER condemned another person?

The censorship of pro-Johnson posts is not in the spirit of Ron Paul. Period.

If you think it is, I must have come to love a different man, and I plan to fight on as would he.

"Could Republican and Democratic supporters of Gary Johnson be convinced to write-in Ron Paul to deliver a victory to the septuagenarian OBGYN?"

No. Ron Paul will not win the Presidency in 2012. I would not bet to the contrary for 100 trillion to 1 odds. Why? Because no write-in candidate will ever win the Presidency. The libertarian party candidate has infinitely better odds than a write-in, and he also has essentially 0% chance of winning.

The future of this movement lies in taking over the Republican Party from within. We've made a great start. If we keep working between now and 2016, and Rand runs in 2016, I think we could win the Party's nomination and seize control of the party, whoever wins the general election thereafter.

My greatest wish at the moment is that good Paulites would stop deluding themselves with impossible visions of victory this year. It cannot and will not happen. No amount of hoping will change that. The sooner this fact is recognized and accepted, the sooner we can get to work preparing future victories. My greatest fear at the moment, on the other hand, is that too many Paulites refuse to believe what their lying eyes are telling them, and hold out hope right up until the convention, or the general election - and then get their hopes completely crushed, become apathetic, and abandon the movement.
