OPEN LETTER: Do you really support Ron Paul?
I have been mulling over whether I should “put my two cents” in for a long time. I have lurked, posted a few posts, and tried to ignore the bad stuff. But the barrage of negative posts in the past day finally did me in.
I am so (SO) tired of reading posts from people who talk about how HQ needs to do things differently. So many of you speak as though you have been running presidential campaigns for years, and you have it all figured out.
I don’t want to be harsh – but some of you need to back off.
I live in Ron Paul’s 14th District in Texas. He has won here against from pretty fierce competitors for over a decade. Basically, he has done this before. Maybe not on such a grand scale, but he has been there. He knows what this is about…
Ron Paul is not a stupid man. Do you seriously think that a man who is going against the “establishment,” (and has been for more than 10 years) doesn’t know what he is doing?
He has fought nearly his entire adult life for a better America. He REALLY is doing what he thinks is best for our country, us, and the generations to come. He isn’t in this for the allure or prestige that some of the others are in it for. It isn’t about that.
He just wants a better tomorrow for you people – the same people that are criticizing his every move and word. Lay off and let it be.
Trust that the man you all respect and support knows exactly what he is doing. He has more “Washington” experience than most of the people running against him (on both sides). Don’t you guys think he knows how this game works?
So – in closing – get a grip, people.
If you don’t want to actually support Ron Paul, then go form another website somewhere to discuss how crappy you think his campaign is. Let the people here keep reading what we want to read.
It is easy to just tell someone to ignore what they don’t want to read, but when the posts get so negative, it is hard to do so.
We want to talk about this revolution and what it means.
We trust that Ron Paul knows what he is doing.
We SUPPORT Ron Paul.
Do you?

Agreed! Of course I have my opinions on what should or should not be done, but, frankly, I am going to trust in Dr. Pauls judgement. He is absolutely doing the best job of any candidate I have ever seen of spreading our message of freedom and hope for the future. In the past year I have seen my view of the world presented on national television (in an eloquent manner, I might add!) much more than I had in the previous decade.
Since the early nineties, I have been watching the libertarian message spread, slowly but surely. I have continued to meet people who agree with our message without even having heard the word "libertarian" or people who thought that Lyndon LaRouche was the epitome of libertarian thinking, and so on. But, the great thing is: these days, people actually seem to have a fairly clear idea of what I mean when I say I am a libertarian. And (this is nice) even those that disagree with me tend to not think I'm some sort of heartless goon or advocate of heavy drug-use or otherwise a "kook".
I think a lot of this is due to the message being presented in a positive and forward-looking way, rather than always in negatives. The work of organizations like (for instance) the Advocates for Self-Government, and The Mises Institute, LRC, as well as many great individual advocates for freedom such as (for instance) Michael Cloud, Mary Ruwart, and Harry Browne (and of course Dr. Paul!) who help to educate people who otherwise would have probably never heard, or been receptive to our message! As much as I enjoy reading certain less-positive libertarians, I don't think they can do a good job of presenting our ideas to those who don't already agree.
I have no problem, really, with (politely) discussing what we think should or should not be done by the campaign, but in the end, trust the campaign to do what the campaign does, and instead of being angry if the campaign is doing other than what you would like, continue doing what had made this campaign so awesome: think of a great idea, and put it out there! I think the Blimp is a terrific example of the massive grassroots power that can be tapped, let's use that rather than letting negativity and complaints bring us down. Let's continue to demonstrate the power of freedom!
Thanks for listening!
Come on...
I was not trying to be negative. I just don't appreciate a first time poster coming on here and questioning out patriotism. If you want to do something get off your keyboard and talk to someone about Ron Paul outside of our community here. I reached two voters it Northeast Florida today and not only made them question their decisions to vote one way but directed them towards Dr. Paul. Here this post is complaining about people that complain. It does nothing productive.
Couldn't agree more
I've been saying for days that people need to back of the campaign belongs to Ron. The arm chair QBs need to get off there seats write some letters to family and friends, get out side and wave a sign, hand out bios and books. I wrote out 4 letters today and sent DVDs, his book Foreign Policy of Freedom, and the bio books to family and friends. If you are truly behind RP you need to do the same, get the stuff that is available and give it to your friends and tell them what you believe. And for God sakes get off the computer!
Good Stuff! We have faith!
We need not dwell on this but turn this frown upsidedown! Let's get creative!
And let's take up the challenge to get out in our precincts and make sure they are for Ron Paul!

I have a solution to all this HQ bashing
First let me give a little back ground. I have been a huge PC Game and MMORPG player since the days of the original Everquest game. Now early on they had the SAME problems as the official campaign is having now. Now they did come up with a solution that WILL work here too. They Hired / Appointed a "Customer Relations Officer" whoes SOLE job it was to Read ALL Message boards both Official & Fan based and act as a Communication liason between the player base & the developers. I think the HQ need to spend some of the $$ WE gave them & hire some one for this job and ASAP. This postion will be a full time job as we are not short on feedback both positive & negative. I feel this would do ALOT to make things a little more transparent and releive some of this negative feelings towards the campaign officials. People just want to hear SOME thing even if its as small as "We are looking in to it" or "More info will be avail at such & such time " ANY communication no matter how small is better then silence.

They can't infiltrate the message at http://www.rprradio.com,
not to try to distract from DailyPaul.

Absolutely I support Ron Paul. Which is WHY I want feedback.
What I don't support is he HQ operation which clearly has gone out of its way to isolate itself from feedback from the people who pay the bills.
In business, about which I know a little bit, we would call this a company with a great product which is CRIPPLED by a tragically poor customer relations department.
Is the particular style of this campaign your religion - or do you want Dr. Paul and the message to WIN?
Instead of those MANY of us who have been complaining about a completely unresponsive HQ for months now as someone "unpatriotic", I think you ought to reexamine your premises. Who is better served by a 3rd rate HQ operation than a 1st rate operation? Is the message better served? Is the candidate? Are we - the supporters and 'customers'? You are being seriously illogical here.
H.Q. COULD STOP NEARLY ALL THE CRITICISM IN CHAT FORUMS, AND MAKE CLEAR THE REST WAS REALLY FROM 'TROLLS', IF THEY HAD OPEN COMMUNICATION LINES. They don't - they have gone to apparently extraordinary lengths to make sure nobody in authority can ever be reached in an apparent attempt to conflate not being reachable to not being criticized.
When you make it impossible to communicate openly, you make it necessary to communicate through other methods and the communication becomes much more harsh. That is fundamental to a market economy and is common sense to boot.
I think YOU - with your call to be quite and walk off the cliff like a good lemming - are more an impediment to victory than I am.
This is an extraordinary, decentralized campaign. It needs good feedback mechanisms through HQ in order to win. It needs HQ to operate at a level at least an order of magnitude above where it has demonstrated itself capable of operating to date.
Insanity is compulsively doing the same thing and just "trusting" it to turn out differently next time. We can't afford any more 5th place finishes; we can't afford for HQ to continue doing what its been doing with no accountability and no feedback to the "customers". HQ ought to be hitting on all cylinders now - with $25 Million in the bank we ought to be running circles around Huckabee and McCain. That isn't happening. Wake up.

I don't think you're being
I don't think you're being fair by comparing a political campaign to a business venture. I also think you're being melodramatic and completely distorting the point here. Nobody is telling you to be quiet and march off a cliff like a good lemming. Do you understand trust? And patiece? I'm sure you're a smart person, but don't underestimate the intelligence of the people running this campaign. If you were the founder and CEO of a dynamic new startup company, would you be receptive to every stockholder that thought they knew how to run your company better than you? We're awake, you need to chill out.
Question for you...
Who's broke now and who has 20+ million in his bank account?
They ran circles around Paul for two measly primaries (Paul's words).... and their gas (money)is gone.
Look's who's laughing now.
Paul has a strategy and it is sad that there are people here who doubt that and have nothing better to do than sit around and gripe about something they know nothing about.
You mean sit around and gripe
like you're sitting around and griping about others sitting around and griping. Your notion, as I mentioned earlier, is the equivalent of: "If you don't support he war, you aren't patriotic"
"If you don't support the strategy, you don't support Dr. Paul"
