Hard Times Generation: Families living in cars ~ Future Libertarians?

I believe when people reach this point... of losing everything... like I did... they are ready to clear away all the nonsense and get down to business... they are inclined to living free, prosperous and in service to their fellow man.

Hard times generation: homeless kids

For some children, socializing and learning are being cruelly complicated by homelessness, as Scott Pelley reports from Florida, where school buses now stop at motels for children who've lost their homes.

Hard Times Generation: Families living in cars (below)

Scott Pelley brings "60 Minutes" cameras back to central Florida to document another form of family homelessness: kids and their parents forced to live in cars.

And we want to go back 100 years??

You know what’s interesting about all this in regards to complaints about us:
Everyone complains that we want to go back to the 1800’s with our policies, but the funny thing is that current policies are legitimately forcing people to return to 1800’s standards.
Kids that want to work can’t because of gov’t and thus families remain in even worse poverty.  Monetary and fiscal policy of the gov’t is destroying the middle class and forcing multiple family members and multiple families to live cramped up in one room just like the 1800’s.   Regulations are forcing jobs oversees or making it too expensive through minimum wage and benefits to hire employees here and so companies like JC Penny are forced to eliminate employees and keep jobless numbers high.
The freedom policies allowed us to surpass that and to become so efficient at production that only males needed to work to support a family of 5+ and eliminate child labor.  However, gov’t has destroyed freedom so much through all its policies and regulation that entire families need to work again in order to survive and couples decide to have families less and less in order to just save themselves.

You are the creditor not the debtor!

Until the people understand the banksters money scam and how loans works it will not end till the banksters own it all!

Want proof that this is real? Ask yourself the following questions:

1. Were you told that the Federal Reserve Bank Policies and Procedures as well as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) requirements imposed upon all Federally-insured (FDIC) banks in Title 12 of the United States Code, Section 1831(a), prohibit banks from lending their own money from their own assets or from other depositors? Did the bank tell you where the funds for the loan were to come from?

2. Were you told that the contract you signed, the promissory note, was going to be converted into a 'negotiable instrument' by the bank and become an asset on the bank's accounting books? Did the bank tell you that your signature on that note, makes it 'money', according to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), sections 1-201(24) and 3-104?

3. Were you told that your promissory note would be taken, recorded as an asset of the bank, and then sold by the bank for cash, without "valuable consideration" given to obtain your note? Did the bank give you a deposit slip as a receipt for the promissory note you gave them, just as the bank would normally have to provide when you make a deposit to the bank?

4. Were you told that the bank would create a new account at the bank that would contain this money that you gave them?

5. Were you told that a check from this new account would be issued with your signature, without your knowledge, and that this new account would be the source of the funds behind the check that was given to you as a "loan"?

If you answered "No" to any of these questions, YOU HAVE BEEN CHEATED! How does that make you feel? It is now up to you to demand your deposit back and to challenge the validity of this bank loan Agreement. Since the banks and other lending institutions cannot allow "full disclosure" of your loan Agreement and cannot answer your challenges about it, their silence is the key, along with other necessary steps that can be learned by you, to get your deposit back and/or "payoff" their alleged loan to you.

You see the banksters got your home because you did not know how to defend yourself!

at what point will they sell us a citizens bailout program?

here are my thoughts on how it would go down:

RE: "they [Libertarians] are

RE: "they [Libertarians] are inclined to living free, prosperous and in service to their fellow man."

You should read Ayn Rand to avoid contradiction in thinking. Living free and being in service to others do not go together. You may sacrifice your life on your own free will, but it is not rational and will result in moral corruption of the mind - it will encourage others to claim you as a sacrificial being to empty entities: "fellow men", community, society or a holly ghost. People who like to collect sacrifices will force others to follow your example. (Doing something for people you love is not a sacrifice and not being in service.)

reedr3v's picture

I think that may be a slight misreading of

Rand. Yes she takes a strong stand against parasitism of productive individuals by those who prefer robbery to productivity. But if you recall her idealized Galt's Gulch, the inhabitants naturally and happily cooperated and worked together for a harmonious, peaceable community.

Hers is a broader, benign interpretation of "serving" others. Living in cooperative harmony IS a rational melding of self-interest that also serves others. Community and Society (of nonaggressive people) clearly were her ideals.

I never said sacrifice

Everyone I know who is committed to living free serves others as a natural by-product of their activities based on enlightened self-interest.

Real Deal Right Here
“Give a man a gun, he can rob a bank. Give a man a central bank, and he can rob a country and the world.”

I know you meant well

but having "inclined" in the same sentence was misleading, at least for me. If one lists essential things of a libertarian, adding a byproduct is confusing. But conventional "in service to fellow men" felt good, did not it?

banks are stealing houses

bottom line banks are stealing houses. We got behind 2 months because of a huge car wreck(not our fault) but then went to pay it all in cash. They gave us a figure on friday on phone. We were getting ready to pay the full amount (2 months with late fees) to keep our house. first thing monday morning a fed ex , wells fargo sent us a bill adding 2000 plus more over the weekend for no reason but to make sure we couldn't pay it and they knew it. I wasn't trying to refinance. My wife was disabled from a car wreck. Basically we walked away from the home at that moment and said f.u.c.k wells fargo. What i learned through the years is never trust anyone or rely on anyone. I hope the banks die as well as the corrupt terrorist us gov.

Ron Paul 2016

Pre planned brokeness...

In some peoples' cases it is no accident. I feel education is key. And most are uneducated. I personally want to end the fed. I think that the people in this video might not even know what the fed is.
I saw what the banks were doing and took action by standing in my own power. No more mortgage payments. I took my credit cards, and I ran them to maximum. On survival items. One item being this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXaJUS58aQo
All Daily Paul followers should know that the economy is collapsing. If you're already broke, it will hit that much harder and that much faster. Prepare yourself. Educate yourself.

your right it is no accident

the banks are stealing homes and property by any means necessary(legal or illegal). This is happening to hard working folks. The banks are not helping or trying. They are basically stealing these homes since they know the gov will bail them out ,leaving the hard working american homeless. There might be some that brought this on themselves but a majority are having banks stealing from the hard workers paying bills.

Ron Paul 2016

I don't think this is an accident

I think this is by design to get people to look to the government to save them, provide, food, shelter, medicine, clothing, essentials.

I think many people, if not the majority, want a cradle to grave government providing everything education, jobs, happiness, serinity, even faith and love.

500,000 in bills through corrupt private insurance. Wife was forced to go to hospital to get help for her pain management of 14 fused vertebrae. Obviously we lack alot of money. Before obamacare we could make cash arrangements with hospital. Now they want 350 in cash before they will even see her. What was their suggestion. Give up quit working and go on to welfare. Then they could help us. Well my wife told them nicely to f off. Now we are trying to save money to see a doctor just so she can get her correct meds. She has been off the meds she should have because we can no longer afford to go to the hospital, now obamney(obama/romney) wants us to choose homelessness to have healthcare?

The best option might be for the roman empire(usa) to implode itself. wouldn't hurt my feelings if the us gov bankrupted itself into non existence.

Ron Paul 2016

Yet another side effect of the "War on Drugs", the FDA,

and the regulation of "controlled substances" that could be used to provide pain relief.

It's like a centifuge funnel

swirling people into from the cradle of civilization to their early graves.

Agreed. Unfortunately it does

Agreed. Unfortunately it does pull at the heart strings. This is really sad that this is happening and no one really gets it...

this youtube was on here a year ago, but it's very relevant--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

$22,000 poverty threshold

I wonder if the $22,000 poverty threshold is after taxes? Someone making $30,000 after taxes and healthcare for themselves and their only child would be below $22,000. Would they be considered impoverished?

We lost it all 2009 - 2011

Went from living in a 200k home w/pool, 2 waverunners, 4 cars, motorcycle, 6 TV's, and all the rest...to now living in an efficency apt having sold everything of value we owned. But, we have never been happier or felt more free.

I wish I could figure out a way to get people to minimize and step off the hamster wheel before they are forced to like we were. If we had downsized and learned about freedom and liberty before we both lost our jobs and ended up being driven into poverty it would have been a lot easier. But then again, maybe being homeless for 2 days and living in our car....and then living at a campgound for a week, is what it took to wake us up. I don't know if people have to fall as far as we did in order to wake up but I know had we not both lost our jobs I would have never taken the time to research WTF was going on.

I sometimes wonder if I would have woken up if someone was providing me with all the knowledge and information that I'm providing many of my friends. I can't get 1 in 10 people to even consider what I'm telling them is true...some even come right out and say they don't want to know the truth. Doesn't matter to me anymore...I keep trying to enlighten people because I enjoy it and I'm very happy.

When the next shoe drops on th global economic crisis...I think people will then realize what we have been saying is true. That or another false flag. Most people my not be awake but they are more aware than they used to be. It won't take much to wake a boat load of people up. That day is coming. It's fun to watch.

How did your significant other cope ?

Were you in a relationship at that point ? How easy was it for your wife to accept that ? Was it possible to maintain the relationship ?

My wife did amazingly well

She could have gone and lived with her sister but she decided to stay with me and just live day by day. We had to view it as an adventure rather than being destroyed financially.

The hardest part for my wife was letting go of all the stuff we had accumulated over the years. Seems everything had an emotional value to her. Without being hateful I kept explaining that we had no room for anything other than what we needed to survive. She came to grips with it and she even let me pawn her wedding ring which I thought would never happen.

Most people see how happy and stress free we now live but it seems they think they could never be happy in our situation. Maybe thats true for some who don't have a marriage that would last if they were forced to live in close quarters...but my wife and I have become best friends. I don't have to lie to her and she doesn't have to lie to me. We have woken up together and give each other far more respect and forgiveness than we ever did in the past. I work much harder to make sure my wife is happy and comfortable than I did when I was earning 100k a year. She never lets anything bother her anymore either. It's the fear of the unknown that keeps people stuck on the treadmill going no where...just holding serve.

Let go of the fear and it's a completely different life. Turning off the TV has helped a lot too. That thing was such a downer and I had no idea how badly it affected my attitude.

Right now, for us, off grid and unplugged (other than the internet) is providing us with a releif neither of us have experienced since we were kids. I'm now a 48 year old kid again. Don't worry about tomorrow or think of yesterday...I just go out and work and come home and play. Live happy in the momment.

I will pray for you if you will pray for me.

Sad thing for me is I have a bug out location ... but now my wife changed her mind ... we are in the process of losing it all since she got sick and disabled cutting 86k from income and I have had a 50% drop in mine.

She filed papers on me and booted me from the house ... now I have yet another Lawsuit.

Life is getting harder.

I will pray for you both and everyone

it all happened to us in 2008-2009 and present . In our 2nd year of marriage. we were in a bad car accident not our fault. laws made it impossible to sue their insurance company only a max of 200,000(which covered nothing in medical bills) thanks to corrupt republicans and democrats fixing the law for insurance companies. The person that hit us 18 and nothing to sue for. In the end,We are trying to rebuild but lost everything. Too much to explain for sure. If anything it could of broken our marriage up .We are stronger then before!

We are now just trying to get basics, we now have 2 paid for used cars, looking at a minni winnie used for under 3000 so we can have our honeymoon and go camping. How many years later? Plus the minni winnie will be our back up in case we are homeless. My dream now is just getting a little land to farm on and possibly park a minni winnie or a home that needs work on the land. This is from someone working everyday of my life since i was 18. Welcome to Americathon,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bd1bDw3Yaw

I am praying for you and your wife

I pray that you find the love that sparked your greatest happiness together, for healing, for you to come together and be stronger, better, happier people. I pray she has a change of heart, and that you are able to show her that YOU are her man, and worthy of her love and compassion. That hard times come, but they too shall pass, and you shall be survivors that together help others.

Lord, Hear my prayer.

Those videos broke my

Those videos broke my heart.

My wife and I were talking about buying a new car. We have a two year old car.

After we saw the videos we were like we really don't need a new car.

Honestly?! You don't need to

Honestly?! You don't need to watch a video about poverty to know that you don't need ANOTHER car especially when yours is only two years old.
